Baby Shank's historic address was originally built by the National Capital Brewing Co in 1911. The original exposed brick, mansard roof, and arched windows set the mood for guests when they arrive. Warmly lit by chandeliers, the 2 story space has a modern, yet soothing historic feel.

Host your next gathering with us. We have 4 spaces on 2 floors, including an upstairs lounge and rooftop garden. Contact us at Events@BabyShank.com for more info.

This was my first time here! My bestfriend and I had such a great time. The food was chef’s kiss! The ambiance was also a vibe. I love the decor and look of the venue. The service was top tier. One servers and owners are extremely welcoming and pleasant. I’ll definitely be back!

Service friendly and accommodating; food mediocre level at best. Salmon dry , not fresh; pasta ragu lukewarm and ordinary. Sorry to give such a negative review although the place has an ideal location, an inviting rooftop with blaring music, and cordial staff. Hope they improve the food…and soon.

The food was excellent and so were the drinks! We had the charcuterie board, bavette steak, shrimp scampi, and the new york strip. I highly recommend asking the server for suggestions, but I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu!

Beautiful, classy restaurant away from the main hustle and bustle of the U Street corridor. There are four distinct areas of the two story restaurant - downstairs dining room, downstairs bar area, upstairs dining, and rooftop patio bar. It feels cozy without being claustrophobic and spacious without being cavernous. Drinks are creative, delicious, and fairly priced with great happy hour pricing. The food is solid - we had the signature shank. The shank was flavorful but the risotto that it was served on was not its equal. We also had the charcuterie and onion rings - both excellent. Overall very good value and a memorable experience. We shall return!

There was a table too loud near us. That was a little stressful. The service was great however, the chicken and rack of lambs was not as amazing as the last visit. I would definitely return. I was not too disappointed.

No back on the stools makes for uncomfortable dining, and service was very very slowly and inattentive. Music was too loud, couldn’t hear the person next to you. All the food we had was amazing, especially the duck prosciutto and rack of lamb

This was my second time to Babyshank and I will definitely be back again. The staff is so kind and accommodating. Their food is also delicious! I have a gluten allergy and love that they have so many gluten free options. After I ordered I did learn that they don’t have gluten free soy sauce. They were very kind in letting me change my order a few minutes later when I decided I didn’t want sushi without soy sauce. Great ambiance, tasty drinks, wonderful food. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely amazing experience with my close girlfriends! We ordered a 3 course meal to try as much as we could from the menu, starting with the shishito peppers (great taste, could have added a few more to the plate) and the mussels with unlimited sliced bread to dip in the sauce (delicious and well sized), then we ordered a lamb shank and branzino (cooked to perfection and the presentation was A1), lastly we ended with ordering 3 creme brûlées (weren’t in the sharing mood) and it was absolutely well made and delicious. We were having such a great time that the very pretty & personable manager gifted us with their token hello kitty drinks! Cannot wait to come back and bring more friends to experience this one in a million restaurant! Thank you baby shank!
