Food took impossibly long to come out of the kitchen, yet was uniformly under-seasoned, almost as though each dish was missing an ingredient or two. The restaurant still seems to be doing quite well post-Mario Batali, but very much seems to be living on its reputation at this point.
Excellent service and incredible food
food was amazing and so was service. Loved the wine the waiter offered us.
Super food super I’ll Beyonce love this place coming back soon
Awesome staff, delicious food and wine. Memorable dining, loved the energy of the place.
Overall, a memorable and indulgent experience. The staff was attentive, polite and incredibly knowledgeable, both in terms of making recommendations for wine pairings and dish choices. It's sometimes hard to strike the right balance at an upscale restaurant, and service can sometimes feel stuffy. Our server was truly exceptional, and he struck a great balance between professional and friendly. The dishes we tried were very well thought-out and executed. The pairing of flavors and textures was really on point - with the warm carpaccio truly being a standout!! The crispiness of the sunchokes balanced out the softness of the Wagyu, and the porcini mustard added some acidity to the dish that really complemented and brought out the flavor of the meat. I highly recommend ordering it. If I had any feedback, or advice to those visiting, it would be to skip the Garganelli if you are looking for something that packs a punch in terms of flavor. It was a little flat for my liking. As always, taste and pallet is very personal, but if you like intense flavors, then this dish is likely not for you.
Amazing outdoor dining experience. Food was top notch, as was service and value. Highly recommend.
Great food, excellent service, the upstairs area was way too loud in my opinion. We are in our 20s and had to ask the server to turn the volume down. Couldn’t hear yourself think but they were able to turn it down to a more acceptable volume.
They did an amazing job of making us feel "normal". Everything was safe and followed COVID protocol, but it still felt like a wonderful night out in NYC
Not a very pleasant experience. After we were seated, the waitress asked us if we wanted water or sparkling water. We chose sparkling water, but were not told that this drink was a chargeable item. The same was with the coffee and tea after dessert.
The food was generally good but absolutely not the best considering the price. Service was terrible. We ordered 5 dishes but the service was very slow. It took 30 to 40 minutes for each dish to be served.
The environment was OK but again, considering the price, it was not something you expect of a fine dining place. Won't be back.
Nice valentines meal! Well heated outside as well. The lobster, black spaghetti were very good.
Excellent food and service will come again soon !!!
Great night.
Valentine’s Day!
The service was aweful. Every course came out incorrectly with no apology or explanation. The quality of the food has gone way downhill as well. So sad.
I’ve had both great and terrible service here. For the amount paid I expected a bit more service and attention to details given it was Valentine’s weekeend. Paid an extra $40 for shaved truffles which the server forgot to put on until I was more than halfway done with my meal. Such a shame. This place used to be so great
My favorite restaurant hands-down. I only have great memories of every time I’ve been there plus the food never disappoints.
They had a wonderful set up for outside. Very cozy and all the servers were very mindful of Covid protocols.
I felt like we had the true Babbo experience although we were outside sitting in a hut. My husband and I had two appetizers, two pastas and shared an entrée and then dessert. Everything was amazing.
I will always be back as long as Babbo will welcome me there
One of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Food and service are above and beyond.
The service and food were impeccable.
Perfect but not cheap. Totally worth it. Love the people and the food. Miss indoor but we will be back when they are. Best food at the bar going babe!!
A must for Italian wine lovers!
It’s just amazing after all these years. Still one of the best spots in nyc.
Babbo’s food is a culinary experience like no other. Make it every day - save it for a special occasion - whatever the excuse if you enjoy incredible food - this is the place for you.
My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday might and it was delicious . We sat outside under the heaters . The pasta & mozzarella were great . We would definitely go back .
Take advantage of the opportunity to get a coveted reservation to dine alfresco. The food and service were stellar, per usual.
Food was spectacular. Also, consideing all that restaurant staff has to go through in these trying times the service was excellent. We were celebrating my husband's retirement and they helped make it a wonderful experience.
Annuversary
Babbo is consistantly excellent. We shared the octopus app and pasta bolognese. Both were just perfect. I had the pork chop (Ive had this 3 times over the years and it never misses) and my spouse had the delicious Bass. The service, even outside (due to covid) is on point and courteous. Another great time at Babbo. Owner Joe was keeping an eye on things, both outside and in the kitchen.
Had a lovely meal for 6 at Babbo, with space heaters helping to keep everyone warm. Cocktails, food and wine all delicious. One hiccup was 2 people in our group received the wrong appetizers, but elected to just keep and eat them without mentioning. Not sure what happened with the order but didn't keep us from enjoying our meal.
We dined on New Year’s Eve during COVID. it was really nice sitting outside with the heater over head. They didn’t have a prix fixe menu, which is really nice. Portions were huge for its level. Server was friendly. We had a very good time.
It was a cold day. The outdoor dining has the heater on the ceiling which definitely helped. I would think the heater by the feet/legs would be more helpful but it was good enough. Food was out of this world. The situation wasn’t ideal but it was the best effort possible in the age of covid.
It was lovely. We were warm inside the outdoor dining space. Food was delicious. I had a great time.
Great service and wine
Incredible evening - thank you again!
Still a classic.
Service was impecable. A very high-end sophisticated experice. The food was amazing. My only complaint would be the music selection. I always prefer that the most music coordinates thematically with the cuisine, decor and ambiance.
If you want one of the best dining experiences in Manhattan’s West Village look no further than Babbo Ristorante. The food, service, atmosphere, and cocktails are unsurpassed. The wine selection is legendary. You will not be disappointed.
Wonderful, my only comment was that the squid ink pasta that I ordered could have used a bit more salt.
The food was amazing as always. We shared the paccheri with wild boar, the busiate trapanese and the sea bass.
Service was superb. The place is really lovely. The food excellent. I definitely recommend and will be back.
