The service and food were impeccable.
A must for Italian wine lovers!
It’s just amazing after all these years. Still one of the best spots in nyc.
My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday might and it was delicious . We sat outside under the heaters . The pasta & mozzarella were great . We would definitely go back .
Take advantage of the opportunity to get a coveted reservation to dine alfresco. The food and service were stellar, per usual.
Food was spectacular. Also, consideing all that restaurant staff has to go through in these trying times the service was excellent. We were celebrating my husband's retirement and they helped make it a wonderful experience.
Annuversary
Babbo is consistantly excellent. We shared the octopus app and pasta bolognese. Both were just perfect. I had the pork chop (Ive had this 3 times over the years and it never misses) and my spouse had the delicious Bass. The service, even outside (due to covid) is on point and courteous. Another great time at Babbo. Owner Joe was keeping an eye on things, both outside and in the kitchen.
Had a lovely meal for 6 at Babbo, with space heaters helping to keep everyone warm. Cocktails, food and wine all delicious. One hiccup was 2 people in our group received the wrong appetizers, but elected to just keep and eat them without mentioning. Not sure what happened with the order but didn't keep us from enjoying our meal.
We dined on New Year’s Eve during COVID. it was really nice sitting outside with the heater over head. They didn’t have a prix fixe menu, which is really nice. Portions were huge for its level. Server was friendly. We had a very good time.
It was a cold day. The outdoor dining has the heater on the ceiling which definitely helped. I would think the heater by the feet/legs would be more helpful but it was good enough. Food was out of this world. The situation wasn’t ideal but it was the best effort possible in the age of covid.
It was lovely. We were warm inside the outdoor dining space. Food was delicious. I had a great time.
Great service and wine
Incredible evening - thank you again!
Still a classic.
Service was impecable. A very high-end sophisticated experice. The food was amazing. My only complaint would be the music selection. I always prefer that the most music coordinates thematically with the cuisine, decor and ambiance.
If you want one of the best dining experiences in Manhattan’s West Village look no further than Babbo Ristorante. The food, service, atmosphere, and cocktails are unsurpassed. The wine selection is legendary. You will not be disappointed.
Wonderful, my only comment was that the squid ink pasta that I ordered could have used a bit more salt.
The food was amazing as always. We shared the paccheri with wild boar, the busiate trapanese and the sea bass.
Service was superb. The place is really lovely. The food excellent. I definitely recommend and will be back.
So great to have Babbo back! Impeccable service and very safe setup.
I absolutely love Babbo. As soon as I saw that they had reopened I jumped onto OpenTable to make a reservation. The food was, as always, exquisite, and the service was of the usual high quality. Our waitress described each dish and special in mouthwatering detail, and we could not have been happier with our experience! If I had to note a slight critique it was the music - I love the Beatles, but perhaps not for the entire two hours that we were there! The tunes are usually a bit more muted and jazz-inspired, and that’s my preference for dining. Besides this though, I continue to rate Babbo as five stars (I would even give six if that was possible!): one of my favourite places to dine in NYC! I will definitely be back, and I encourage everyone to continue supporting this absolute gem of a restaurant!
This was our first indoor dining experience since the start of the pandemic and we were thrilled to be here (11/28/2020). The attention to service and safety was clearly evident and very comforting. Our meal was extraordinary and satisfying. We highly recommend the tripe appetizer and the black ink pasta with crab. My branzino entree was deboned at the table and my husband’s pork chop was probably the best he has ever tasted. Even the beverages were perfect - from the martinis to the espresso, we loved it all. Kudos to the service staff, the bartender and everyone involved We look forward to restaurants reopening in NYC and will definitely return.
Absolutely fantastic! Came here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and they were so kind. Food and service was phenomenal. Did a tasting and would highly recommend this to anyone. Planning on coming back soon!
We've been to Babbo twice before, both times before the pandemic. The first time was amazing, and the second was expectedly good. This time we decided to try the pasta tasting menu we had seen others having in the past. I think our expectations were a bit too high, because nothing felt exceptional. The beef cheek ravioli was predictably good, but the black truffle pesto with the gargenelli didn't seem to pack more of a wallop of flavor than you'd get if you grabbed a can of truffle pesto and fresh pasta from Eataly and just made it yourself. To us plebians, the pasta seemed cooked less than al dente -- it wasn't "to the tooth", it was just plain hard -- but are we really going to tell the chefs they undercooked pasta? They would probably assume we're just know-nothing Americans; fair enough. The busiate trapanese was a nice game of textures, but again, seemed lacking on flavors (in the sauce, that is -- and slow roasting cauliflower at home isn't that hard).
We also seemed to be unable to communicate with our waiter. We found the music very loud, asked for it to be lowered, and instead it was changed to equally loud music. We had questions about the wine tasting, were told we'd get an answer, and never did. For dessert, we got tangerine sorbet for a palate cleanser, followed by... panna cotta with tangerine sorbet.
Obviously, Babbo is a good place, and maybe we just got unlucky. If you've never been, go and have some great pasta a la carte. But if you want to be amazed, I'd say you'll get more bang for your buck shelling out for a tiny bit more at a place like Le Bernardin, but walking away feeling immensely satisfied.
Great food and service. I’m glad Babbo’s is back!
Food was delicious and nicely presented. Service was excellent and professional. Overall we loved it and recommend dining here.
Get somebody else to choose the music, please. That was horrible.
Good and service were perfect
really inattentive wait staff. Inexcusable for a serious restaurant...
The food was amazing. We had the paired pasta tasting menu.... the closest to grandma's naples meat sauce. Great evening with excellent service.
Menu is a little funky but service and quality were excellent
Food was excellent!! Ambience was kind of unspecial and outdated
Outstanding food and service. Layers of flavor in each dish-impressive how innovative Babbo has remained after all of these years!
1st time there, the food and service was exceptional. We will be regulars!
Truffle tasting is amazing!
used to love the food here but the last three times, it’s been mediocre. like an average restaurant. service too. so sad. i guess all great things come to an end.
Love this restaurant every time I go there. Food is great, atmosphere is great, service is great!!
Babbo never disappoints. The originality of the dishes and their presentations are as good, if not better, than what you can find in other Italian restaurants, frequently for a lot more money.
Babbo is amazing. Second visit as good as the first. Octopus appetizer was excellent as were the pastas. The rosemary olive oil cake is not to be missed.
