The music was a little loud, but as always the food is absolutely spectacular.
food quality has lowered in my opinion.
sound level is very high. music is super loud.
I will most likely not return :(
Went for our first wedding anniversary. The service and food were impeccable!
We are going back soon for the pasta tasting menu with the wine pairing!
Loved the food and service.
Our sommelier was amazing and this restaurant has amazing collection of wines
This is a first class operation. You expect the food to be better then most and it is!
The service provided is "exceptional" which make the experience all that more enjoyable.
The dinning value is a total winner. The wine list can be intimidating but the sommelier made it all go away, we had a wonderful wine for $85
Looking forward to our next visit.
Absolutely one of the best meals we’ve had in a very long time! From the excellent service, the amazing wine collection, to the menu, they did not miss a beat! Top notch all around.
we have been many times at this restaurant, food and wine are excellent; it was a little too crowded this time, service was not that good and music was very loud.
One of our neighborhood favorites. Never disappoints.
This was a wonderful experience. We did the tasting menu and had a sommelier help us choose our wine. I loved everything
The food at Babbo was no where near as good as it was 10-15 years ago. The service was ok. It’s very clear to see why they no longer hold a Michelin star
Fantastic food & great service - only thing is it was definitely too cold inside. Uncomfortably cold at times.
Fabulous food and Great Service.
Fantastic! Loved everything!
Truly a new york experience, so glad we booked dinner for our daughter's 15th. Service is very good, helpful and attentive but not interrupting. Food was excellent we had the 5 course pasta taster and the portions were reasonable and just delicious (just know it's very expensive). The wine list is 78 pages, thank goodness for the sommelier!!
Noise level on the first floor was LOUD. Music was pumping. Guessing this is done to keep the crowd young?? Will not return
The decor location and food at babbo is magnificent. The octopus was perfectly prepared and the pasta dishes were expectedly good. The olive oil cake was out of this world. Lucas and the team did a great job of making us feel welcome and taken care of.
One of our favorite restaurants in nyc - active and great energy but fine dining at the same time. Service and food at a level you can’t find many places
They blasted an entire Ramones album during dinner. Don’t get me wrong the Ramones are legendary, but definitely not the ambiance I expect during a $$$$ date night at an Italian restaurant… and I mean it when I say they BLASTED it. It was hard to have a decent conversation over Joey Ramone singing “now I wanna sniff some glue”
Thoroughly enjoyed the pasta dishes and my chop I will definitely be back The atmosphere was very lively
Top notch service and excellent wine selection, food is fabulous!
I love the dinner and the service was excellent however the music was much to loud I asked that they lower it and they did for a short time and then again so loud I could'nt really have conversation at the table
Beautiful! Worth the wait. Will definitely be back❤️
It’s always a pleasure eating dinner at Babbo. The food is delicious We especially enjoyed the crudo and the rack of lamb as well as the semi freddo.
Really disappointing. Ordered 4 different pastas to split between 2 people. The Lobster Spaghettoni was very earthy - too much parsley, no flavor and lobster was very tough. We actually had them take it away barely eaten. Parsley is used as a main ingredient it seems in all dishes, rather than garnish. All dishes lacked flavor. No garlic, no flavor, just blah. So many great Italian places in NYC…this one should be avoided. We were excited to try it and it didn’t deliver. Even the chef’s appetizer thingy was bad…bland and flavorless. Total disappointment. Try one of the thousands of other Italian places in NYC first!
Always a pleasure dining here
The food was very good. But the type of music and the volume of the music spoiled the evening. Not really sure what type of atmosphere management is attempting to create. The music will keep me from going back. Way too loud and venue inappropriate. I have been to Babbo more than 20 times. So very disappointed in the “atmosphere”.
Absolutely delicious food and nice waitstaff
I have to say I did not have the experience others had. I’m sure some people had a great time. But why did some have a great time and others not? I had been to Babbo many times before and enjoyed the experience. This time, it was barely recognizable. We were seated on the level of the bar, but had reservations, I thought, for the upper room. The music was too loud. Asking the server if he thought the music was loud, he said “yes and it will only get louder.” This is fine dining? I happen to have a decibel meter on my phone and it registered 110! I truly should have excused myself and left. Things got worse as tables were seated around ours and I was literally closer to the next guest than my friend across the table. I could hear the people next to me screaming at their friends better than my friend. The service was simply people not caring about what they we’re doing. We requested the sommelier to help with the wine but was given a huge book with sticky plastic pages and hundreds of wines. We just went for an easy pick and got a Chianti. No help from anyone. The person bussing the table came by to clean the table top of crumbs spinning a spoon across the table. He pushed a bunch of the crumbs around and got about 50% in the spoon. Never really looking down at the table, he scooped the crumbs into the lap of my friend!!! The man couldn’t even hear my friend gasp as he was “breaded.” We had ordered and after cleaning off, just wanted to go. We couldn’t hear one another, wait staff was not present, cynical or covering us with food. I was horrified I had brought a friend to this place expecting “fine dining.” Plus, the pretentious practice of having the sommelier taste my wine and then decant it while putting the dregs in the decanter only seemed to get the sommelier a chance to drink more wine that night than we did. I did bring this to the attention of our waiter. The solution was to bring us cookies? Vergognatevi!
Very loud and difficult to carry on a conversation without leaning in to one another. Maybe I’m just old tho. :)
Spectacular food and wonderful and quick service. Perfect for special occasions.
I've visited Babbo a few times over several years and it has yet to disappoint! Great ambience, wine, food and service!
As always, one of the best italians in the city.
Lovely restaurant with excellent service. The food is also very good, though not perhaps as exceptional as some reviews indicate. Still, a good choice!
Didn’t live up the the hype. Music was at a level that made conversation difficult. The food was average at best.
We are NYC residents. We have eaten at Babbo numerous times in the last 10+ years. Food was noticeable less tasty yesterday. Unfortunately, dishes seems more french leaning rather than high end, rustic, delicious Italian as it used to be. Waiter was excellent but entire dinner was every rushed. They brought out antipasti within 5-10 minutes of serving our cocktails. We were quite disappointed. Not the waiter's fault. Seems like a restaurant management decision. Very good that Batali is gone. But keep the food and service as good as it used to be during his time.
Amazing tasting menu
