In a word, disappointing. Food mixed, had to send one entree back to the kitchen, other was great. Seated so close to the next table that I could have eaten off their plate. Wait staff offered limited apologies for the poor meal. We won’t be back.

Great food.. a little loud, and the music they play is questionable. I like Led Zeplin, but not while I eat at a nice Italian restaurant for a birthday dinner. Not a good mix. Aside from that, it's excellent.

We had Pappardelle Bolognese, Spaghettoni (lobster), Ravioli (pear,pecorino), Tiramisu, Ricotta Cheesecake. Everything was very good, but Spaghettoni was a disappointment because of 2 reasons. 1) Lobster was overcooked and really rubbery. 2) There was a medium piece of lobster shell inside the dish that almost broke my tooth and really hurt my upper gums. Off course, the dish was taken out of my bill. Service was excellent, staff was friendly and professional.

This is a restaurant to go to for amazing food and for the experience. You need to know what you are signing up for. The history of this place is part of the experience, it is not a giant restaurant, it is very crowded and everything is very tightly fit in, including the tiny bathroom on the second floor where the toilet is so close to the wall you can hardly even sit down. You are sitting very very close to other tables, which I am sure is the reason for the very loud rock music playing on the speakers, to help with some aggressive white noise so you are not having to listen to conversations at other tables and strangely, it works. It is like you are at a party and if you know that is what it is like, it is a fun experience. If you want quiet and romantic with fast service, this is not for you. I was there with my son who I was visiting so I was perfectly content to sit at the table for 3 hours while our food came very slowly. We got our appetizers an hour and 15 minutes after we ordered. I did inquire about our food at one point to a hostess who seemed to be managing the room and she was so kind and helpful and she checked on us a few times the rest of the night and we ended up with a number of free extra items from the chef for our wait. Again, I did not mind as it gave me more time with my kid. Our server was very nice but completely absent, almost an hour would go by without seeing him. The wait staff in general however were attentive and kind. The sommelier was helpful and very nice too. Our food was amazing, every bit of it. I would particularly recommend the wagu beef carpaccio appetizer, the pear and pecorino ravioli (amazing), the Osso Bucco and the quail were both very good. Go for the history and the experience, it is worth it, but be patient and know you will not have a lot of personal space.

Fabulous, decadent & delicious fresh pasta dishes, like the pear ravio, with incredible starters like the barrata. Great cocktail list with my favorite the babbo spritz and impressive, extensive, interesting wine list with many barolo options. The restaurant ended up making two completely new dishes for us to take home after accidentally throwing out our leftovers that we had planned to wrap up - what a class act to have done this - many thanks to our server and chef for going above and beyond to make our mother's day celebration unforgettable.

Babbo has really gone down hill. The food was mediocre at best. Had the porkchop which didn’t have much flavor and the presentation of the plate looks like it was done by a 5th grade student, at best. The music was hard rock and roll which def didn’t fit the vibe of the evening or the restaurant. Such a shame as this clearly isn’t the restaurant that everyone tried to get a table at back in the day

Service weak, disorganized, and beyond inattentive. Our waiter was over stressed and literally running between tables. He stopped at our table perhaps three times over 2.5 hours. The experience was choppy with long long pauses between courses. Background music so loud could not hear server and was hard to talk to the person literally 1” away from me. The incessant activity up and down the stairs added to the sense of noise and lack of place. Pasta is memorable. Other dishes were not. We won’t return even though we live around the corner - and were reminded why we hadn’t been back for 10 years. That said, many diners seemed happy to be there.

this was our 2nd time at Babbo. the first time was incredible. it was my wife's birthday and I called you multiple times leading up to our visit. we're still not comfortable eating indoors, so I asked for a table as much away from others as possible. instead, we were seated at the table right at the top of the stairs. it felt like grand central including when your host would bring up groups when their table wasn't ready so they loitered in front of our table. our server was very nice, but she had no help and was running all night. we were completely out of water multiple times. when our meals came, my pork chop seemed to be half the size from the last time we were there and it was dry. I told the server, she took it away, apologized profusely, and gave me a menu to order something else. my wife was already eating so I decided to share hers. we saved our trip to Babbo for a special occasion. thanks for making it far from special.

I’ve been waiting to come to Babbo for a while. The service was exceptional! The food was good and the plating was nice. I will definitely return during a weekday to see if there is a difference in food quality. The food was good but based on reviews, I thought I would be blown away. We dined on a very busy Saturday night so that’s always a factor. By no means should anyone not experience Babbo. The food was delicious. The music was loud but tolerable. I really do have to state that the service was exceptional again.
