Very good pasta.
I love Babbo. It has an old school ambience with excellent service. Thus time I ordered the Sphagettini with one pound lobster but I was not impressed because it just tasted like a typical tomato sauce sphagetti. I would probably try Gargenelle next time because it’s one of the specialty there.
Great wine list and good Italian food.
Noisy, The flavor of the food needs a A lift, kind of bland, overrated
Amazing food and service. Would recommend to anyone.
Expectations were high for what is supposed to be one of the best Italian restaurants in New York. High notes: nice dining room, great service. Low notes: I make a better amatriciana....watery sauce. Average steak, average branzino, the wild boar sauce was mostly tomato. The food lacks in originality, attention to detail is poor.
Good food good music
The food is fantastic. The noise level has increased over the years and I wish it were quieter. The loud music seems quite unnecessary. The service is lovely too. It is an excellent restaurant.
Always a pleasure. While almost 40, Babbo remains a top spot despite the departure its notorious chef. Service remains is very good to excellent. Seen so many new faces over the years San maître d’ who is a master.
Always incredible food and the service is very attentive and friendly. Definitely a great place to celebrate a special occasion. I had the Pappradelle bolognese and the homemade pasta was cooked to perfection as always!
Expected much better from top chef owned restaurant. Food was good but didn’t wow.
Excellent food and service. Five stars
That was my husband's big birthday dinner. We all were from out of town and was late a little bit for our reservation time. But they handle everything so elegantly, smoothly. It was a special occasion for us and it really was success.
We go to Babbo once a year and this time we enjoyed the pasta tasting menu with the vintage wine pairing. The pastas were unique and interesting and the wines were a caliber above what we usually enjoy. Thank you Babbo for your excellent service and outstanding food and wine!
“Everything we heard about this restaurant came to fruition; welcoming staff, warm environment, delicious and savory food, fortified wine list, meticulous table service and overall pleasurable experience.”
Impeccable service. Excellent food.
Excellent food and service. Noise level too loud
Good but Eh. Not as special as I thought.
One of my favorite NYC restaurants.
Babbo was incredible. The food, our server, the ambience- everything. Babbo didn’t disappoint on any level- especially the food!!
Wonderful evening. Everything was perfect - the atmosphere, the food, the service, the experience.
This was a highly recommended place by my foodie friend, who admittedly had not been here in awhile. The restaurant was pretty empty for lunch, which was a bit of a surprise. The initial service/welcome was great, and the afternoon was off to a promising start with the great beef cheek ravioli. Moist, flavorful and el dente. For the main course, we had the grilled octopus, and grilled pork chop. The Octopus was not charred, but burnt, to the point that the acrid taste of smoke made the dish almost inedible. The pork chop took forever to come out - which is ok if the meat is really well prepared. No such luck, it was overly brined, and lacking flavor. As a side we ordered the Brussels sprouts, which also lacked flavor. The pancetta however was burnt again, and incredibly salty. For desert, we had the pistachio semifreddo, which was a bit too bitter, over powering the delicate flavors one would expect from such a dish. These dishes were recommended by the wait staff, so that made it even more disappointing. I would definitely not go back, or recommend this place to anyone. I have been to a ton of fine dining places, and this is not one that makes that qualification.
Service and wait staff were wonderful...food presentation was perfect
My friend and I had early reservations 5:30 after a matinee. We were excited to try the black truffle tasting menu. It was a delicious food experience. The staff is on point but the vibe is not stuffy.
Popular music on as it got busier over the course of our dinner. Be prepared for $$ if your looking for the tasting menus. It was worth it.
My new favorite.
The last time we were here almost a decade ago we had the Chef’s tasting menu. This time we did the Pasta Tasting. Delicious!! Jose was so super nice explaining each dish. I love the personal touch of dessert! Very nice place for a special occasion.
Fantastic food and excellent service - get the ravioli!
Our waiter, James was amazing and made the evening special.
Excellent atmosphere, service and spectacular food! Very helpful owner who adjusted our sitting time and table due to unforeseen delays in arrivals. Will definitely be back to sample more cocktails and delicious food. Thank you so much !!
Saw Robert Downey Jr there having a late lunch w Remi Malek, he spoke and was cordial, always watchable, understated, believable actor. Babbo as usual was great, don't miss the truffle tasting menu.
I will definitely be back. I had lunch here but I will return for dinner. I just hope it won't be too long before I am back in NYC. The staff was very helpful, the food was simply delicious, the atmosphere was perfect. They took really good care of our table.
Wonderful food and service. A special place.
Excellent evening at Babbo. Tried the pasta tasting menu and each dish was delicious. The pace of service over 7 courses was flawless with only momentary pauses between each course. The tasting menu was a bit pricey but well worth it. I’ll be back.
Babbo used to be the Italian Restaurant where you want to be for a glamours night out. I'm sad to say it is now an overcrowded and very expensive place for tourists. I invited a friend of mine for her birthday. We all dressed up. Upon arrival, we found an overcrowded bar where people were having full meals, with tons of waiters coming in and out and with no place to stand. The music was way too loud and didn't match the type of restaurant. The decor over all is dated. The service is experienced trying to look professional. People around were dressed in t shirts on a Saturday night. It felt like we were in a restaurant off Times Square. The food was ok but super expensive. Not a place where I will go back or invite anyone soon
The food is OUTSTANDING!!! Every we ordered was amazingly delicious!!!
Can't wait to go back! Would definitely recommend!!!
One of the best Italian restaurants in New York. The hosts are wonderful and warm. The food and service were phenomenal
I had the best pork chop in NYC Restaurant. I went there few years ago had the lamb chop it was outstanding.
