Dinner at Babbo was the cornerstone of our trip to NYC. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was lively and energetic. We even met owner Joe Bastianich, who was the consummate host and professional. We had the pasta tasting menu, and one dish was better than the next. Amazing flavors and textures, beautiful presentation. It's not cheap, and for pasta, that is a bit of an issue with me (which is why I only gave it 4 stars in value), but it's Babbo in NY at the holidays, and we'd go back in a heartbeat.

Without a doubt the prior reviews regarding the Ambient noise level was correct. That said, the food is outstanding and the service was exactly what I was expecting. A marvelous wine menu. Without wine food is an exceptional value.

We also met the sommelier who was outstanding and so passionate about her wine.. gave us a tour of the cellar which was breathtaking. A friend in our party is a serious wine collector. Thanks for a wonderful evening

Heard so many good things about Babbo so I was really excited. SUCH a let down. The food was completely underwhelming and bland. Don't waste your money!

My pasts with lobster meat was nothing special. Pasta was over cook and the tomato sauce was too sweet for me. Had to wait for 20 mins for our table on a Sunday night with a reservation. This place is just over priced on everything.

Best meal and service my family has experienced in many years. Babbo’s Sommelier Ms. Neuman was a particular standout. She was incredibly knowledgeable, down to earth, enthusiastic and charming. Wonderful evening.

Fantastic experience at Babbo! Celebrated my wife's 30th birthday and they treated her very well. The atmosphere was great, and the entire staff was very attentive. We started with the grilled octopus and mussels and they were both delicious. We then moved on to our entrees which were both pasta based. My wife had the goat cheese tortelloni and I had the pappardelle with white truffles, both amazing. These were paid with some great wines recommended by the super Sommelier. Overall it was a great experience!

Because of Batalli's negative profile we have not been to any of his restaurants for some time. Babbo was close, available and it was very cold....
We were very pleasantly surprised at lunch. It is pricey but the food quality was excellent and the portions were substantial. We shared the pork belly pasta pyramids. The portion was divided in the kitchen which is always nice. They were shaped pastas stuffed with ground pork belly and a delicious sauce. My partner had the octopus and I had the grilled skirt steak. They were both beautifully plated and properly done.
No dessert but the martini was righteous though the beer was very foamy. Excellent expresso.
Too bad Mario is a creep because we would like to return.

The ravioli and the mussels were amazing. Per the reviews, we were about to order the olive oil cake for dessert but our server steered us towards the cheesecake and it was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had in my life.

I have enjoyed this restaurant many times but it has been a few years since I have dined there. I was really surprised by the lack of welcoming at the restaurant. No one oriented us to the 40 page wine list, walked through the menu for the people at our table who had not dined there before and when we did order, our food was rushed. They were constantly asking to remove our dishes. And when we arrived we were the only people seated upstairs.

The food was excellent but the service was tremendously disappointing, bordering on rude. For a $600 meal I would hope for better.
