Babbo is still the best place to feel good in this town.
disappointed when I asked about a salad and received cooked greens - also had to ask for olive oil to go with the bread and then had to ask for pepper to be added to the olive oil
This was the highlight of my trip to New York.
The best meal of many. I recommend it to anyone who appreciate great food.
What can I say that hasn't already been said? We had appetizers and 4 different entrees. Each was fantastic. I would like to try everything on the menu.
Very nice food! And wine as well. It’s good for semi formal occasion.
Flawless in every way!
Babbo is consistently very good! The fresh beef cheek ravioli are amazing, and the wine list is quite extensive. Highly recommend. The tasting menu's are excellent, especially the Truffle Tasting, if availible. For a real treat, they do a terrific wine pairing.
I wanted to treat my parents, who are visiting from South Korea, a memorable meal. Babbo was a perfect place for that. Amazing service and food.
The ribeye was good, the carciofi overcooked, the rage okay. The waiter placed a dish of garbanzo beans in front of me despite the restaurant knowing in advance, and reviewed with my main server, of my allergies. My companion snatched the dish away from me in time. However, I still ingesting something that caused a slight allergic reaction. Not worth one Michelin star
Food was excellent.
Male Host was rude.
First time back at Babbo in quite a while and it was good to see that the magic is still there. I brought some out of town guests who requested "real New York Italian food" and knew they wouldn't be disappointed. The service was lovely, the food was fabulous and we had a wonderful time. Will not let so much time go by before my next visit.
Attentive wait staff and impeccable service. The food was artfully prepared and delicious!
Staff were friendly and attentive.
My husband had a memorable birthday celebration at the restaurant.
Would like to thank the team for arranging & recommending a delicious birthday cake.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
So I really wanted to like this place...walking in I felt like oh I’m going to love it here. Once we sat we were greeted by a waiter relatively normal time. The waiter was a bit snooty and seemed very disinterested in us overall. At the end of dinner he left or something because we never saw him again. Someone else was helping us. That waiter was very nice. The food was pretty good but not good enough for the prices. The other two things I just didn’t care for us we couldn’t order an appetizer and then order our dinner. We were forced to decide everything at once. The last is that they play rock music like AC/DC very loudly. When we are paying for a nice expensive dinner in a quaint romantic setting why this music loudly in your ears and head? We could barely hear each other at times. It was good but I wouldn’t go back.
Too busy and service subpar
At first, my parents and I needed to wait an additional 35 minutes to be seated after our official reservation time, but the manager, John, made up for it. Throughout our dinner we were treated very kindly by the staff and with special attention by the manager, which made us feel truly valued as first-time patrons. I will be going back to Babbo with frequency because of our experience, and I would recommend the same to anyone thinking of going.
My husband and I love pasta and went with the Pasta Tasting Menu. We were not disappointed. We had 5 generous portions of different pasta dishes to try. By the end, we could barely get out of our seats because our stomachs were so full! If you are a pasta lover, you will not be disappointed. It is on the pricier side, but worth it!
Yet another outstanding experience at Babbo! We came for a late 11:15pm dinner after a show and happily took a seat at the bar rather than a traditional table. The bartenders are always fun and friendly, and we find that they are just as knowledgeable about the food as the waiters. Speaking of food, it did not disappoint. My tagliatelle was cooked absolutely perfectly, with a slight chew, and the bolognese was best in class. This has been our go-to place in the city for years and I’m so happy to see that it is still putting out first-rate cuisine. Can’t wait to come back again!
Always relaxing for lunch
My boyfriend and I went to Babbo for our anniversary. Our server Joey was stellar. He gave great food and wine recommendations (GET THE PORK CHOP YOU WON’T REGRET IT!) and he made us feel like VIPs. We can’t wait to come back! Thanks, Joey and Babbo!
First, the food and service are impeccable and the servers are highly knowledgeable. But...don't get there early; if the bar is full there is NO room and you stand by diners--it is tiny downstairs. Next...I expected an environment with light background music, but what I got was--and I am being literal here--the Ramones blasting out so loud that I couldn't hear my friend talking a less than two feet from me...I like the song "Rockaway Beach" as much as any fan, but they seem to have had the album on and the music continued like that for much of the evening. So if you like wonderful Italian food with a dance club sound system, then this is your place.
Super intimate, super romantic, super ambiance, super service, and super food. Couldn’t have been happier.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Babbo recently. We had 5:30PM reservations. The restaurant was playing music very loudly. It was bothersome as we couldn't even have a conversation across the table. The food was good, but we have been to Babbo several times before and it was overly salted in my opinion. The chairs were also uncomfortable, it may be time for an upgrade. All in all the dining was good, but Babbo had previously set the bar so high we were expecting the same caliber this time.
Great food and great service! Impressed with all the options on the menu. Must haves are the spaghettini and black spaghetti.
Gran lugar y una comida memorable
We went for an early dinner at 6PM. We were four. It was terrific from start to finish - food, wine, cocktails, service, jolly, convivial ambiance. It was sensational.
The food was great. I would highly recommend the scallops. They were perfectly cooked - slight crisp on the outside and not overly cooked. The service was also great and everyone was very attentive. But the fact that Sienna Miller sat at the table next to us made my whole trip to New York. Yes, I am star struck, and no I did not ask for a picture or autograph because celebrities also deserve enjoying the little things in life like privacy.
We are planning on coming to Babbo for our daughters college graduation dinner and stopped in to try it out for lunch. What a joy. The service was impeccable, attentive staff from beginning to end. Food was delicious! Creative and just the right amount. Would definitely recommend.
This is our third or fourth time at Babbo's. It never disappoints: the food, service and ambiance and more -- are excellent. We had a wonderful evening -- and I have to wonder why we EVER go ANYWHERE ELSE. I think it is in its 20th year and it's still not an easy reservation to get!
Great lunch. Unfortunately we had an unusually large breakfast. Would have loved to have tried more another course. I would say the pasta dishes we ordered were beyond our expectations. The mushroom Papparadelli was as good or better then Ago in BEVERLY Hills.
Pastries were on another level. So incredible.
Pasta tasting menu was great. Service was great. Very dark in the room. Everyone had the flashlights on their phones on to read the menu. Music was VERY loud. Hard to hear just across the table.
Food was excellent . Just wished the music was quieter . Was almost disruptive for a conversation .
Always our favorite place to eat when we visit NYC!
The Food is amazing at this Great Restaurant of Mario Batali !!!!!
Service is wonderful and always friendly
Wine Service is GREAT !!!!!!
An exceptional meal, tremendous friendly and attentive staff. Best duck breast and duck leg confit ever on a bed of excellent vegetables in a beautiful presentation served at the perfect temperature. Sardine appetizer was exquisite and bread was so good that when I commented abut it they graciously asked if I wished for some to take home . An exceptional yet not unexpectedly expensive wine list although very good wines at reasonable prices by the glass.
I found the music to be loud and obnoxious. Our overall experience was disappointing.
Fantastic food and wine, great service , little tight space
We had a nice evening, but we found the background music disturbing and noisy. We felt it was difficult to conversate with eachother.
