Babbo never disappoints. The originality of the dishes and their presentations are as good, if not better, than what you can find in other Italian restaurants, frequently for a lot more money.
Babbo is amazing. Second visit as good as the first. Octopus appetizer was excellent as were the pastas. The rosemary olive oil cake is not to be missed.

Everything great - EXCEPT for the sommelier who was arrogant & condescending. Was celebrating my birthday with my family & his attempt at being helpful was offensive.
I felt that Babbo was overpriced for the experience my girlfriend and I received. Cold bread, small mussels and weird fettuccini. The lobster spaghettini and cheesecake were delicious, but our overall experience here was definitely not worth the price. Honestly, we had better food and experiences in other restaurants in New York that cost us a third of the price. Likely won’t be back.
Food and service are consistently superb. It always gives us a wonderful dining experience. One area of improvement needed is their storage of red wine. They obviously don’t keep it in a temperature controlled unit. This results in a bitter taste.

In my early 20s and had the pleasure of double dating with my dad/step mom here on a Sunday night for my dads birthday dinner. We were definitely the loudest in the restaurant.
Food was excellent, from the appetizer salad, octopus & pork pyramid pasta, to the main course truffle pasta, pork gnocchi and branzino, and finally, olive oil cake dessert.
Italian, old-world ambiance, with solid service! Special occasion type of place that’s worth the price, albeit on the higher end!
This is a wonderful authentic Italian restaurant. The food is fabulous. Lots of choice, and all of them are wonderful prepared with the best ingredients. Excellent sommelier. We loved the whole experience. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ We will be back as soon as possible !
Amazing food and very well coordinated service!
Took 45 mins to seat us after our reservation time in a very tightly packed space. Probably a high quality establishment but I have yet to experience it to the fullest. Food was pretty good but not stellar. The actual waiters were very professional but overall service was more than lacking given the price.
In a day and age where you live and die by your food this was a death by numerous swords. Starting with the amuse bouche of chickpeas on crostini was tasteless. First appetizer Mussels "alla Tarantina" suspicious out of the shell mussels were not fresh and inundated with julienne of veg. Carpaccio was passable. Beef Cheek Ravioli was good. Then the entree Fresh Tonnarelli with Parmesano and Black Truffles, now one would think that at this time of year when Truffles are in season that there would be a wonderful fragrance and a nice taste. What was served looked like a pile of chopped up portobello gills on top of the Tonnarelli and was tasteless. So we get to my entree which was the Sea Scallops which were on first bite so tainted and wreaking of ammonia that any amateur in the kitchen should have noticed and not served and thrown the entire batch away as it almost made me sick. It required me to order Coke with Lime to try and get the taste out of my mouth. Needless to say they scurried asking if I would like anything else to which I replied absolutely not trying to get the taste out of my mouth. The rest of the evening of course having been ruined was bribery with deserts and Biscotti and Cookies when what should have taken place was a resounding apology and the check has been taken care of Mr. ........... This failure is the responsibility of Mr. Bastianich to not train staff how to handle this situation and an effort to save a customer from this type of experience.
Food was simply amazing ... service is not aligned with the check ... lower level place have better service but the quality of food and taste of it make this a second aspect .

I took my wife here for her birthday and we had a wonderful experience. Everything was fantastic including the food, the service, and the ambiance, but the one thing that is often overlooked but that we really appreciated was the size of the table. All too often two person tables leave very little room for drinks, plates, silverware, and candles to fit comfortably, causing a shuffle of items throughout the entire meal which is a pain. The two person tables here offered amble room for everything which added to the experience. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it.
