Excellent food and ambiance. Cocktails were expensive and disappointing
It was a great experience the management was super accommodating when due to certain events our party size and timing changed. Our server Mona was also really friendly and accommodating to our food and drink requests. Overall, definitely great service!
Typically the brunch vibe here is super energetic with a DJ playing remixes of old hits. This is the atmosphere people come to Baar Baar brunch for, but unfortunately there was a performer this time who completely killed the vibe.
Food and drinks were delicious!
Amazing experience. The waiter immediately knew it was our anniversary and treated us so well. He even brought out desert that was sparkling like a club! it was really special.
If you go to BAAR BAAR, you can expect great food, drinks and an attentive wait staff. However, the service you receive at the front desk may be questionable. Imagine this:
It's 7:15pm on a Saturday evening and you request a table for two, but you don't have reservations. They inform you that the place is "booked out" and you are directed to the bar. There are no seats available at the bar. However upon leaving the establishment, you notice that the restaurant is only at 60% capacity and discovered that there are available seating via OpenTable up until 9PM.
While the intentions are unclear, one thing that is apparent is the gentleman in the front desk lied. That leaves you wondering if the employee just wanted to maximize revenue or if you were simply victims of profiling.
Table was dirty and the pages of the menu were smelling bad. They served us the second course before the starters and didn't even bothered to change the appetizer plates. Appetizer was good but the entree wa okay.
Very Delhi - both in ambience and food. Must visit!
Other than the noise level it was a great evening, would love to see changes in the menu every few months to be a repeat customer.
We took our kids to this restaurant. We had difficulty finding anything that they would eat. Eclectic and not Authentic.
My third time going, this time with a larger party and some "mild please" diners. Our waiter recommended a sequence of small plates to please all and was spot on on quantities. We did two rounds of orders and were very happy. I love their large offering of small plates and their breads and chutneys.
Sunday Brunch Ambience is amazing
Food options for vegetarians were descent as well. Enjoyed the live music performance by the band Neel
Just dessert took longer than expected
Salman was an amazing guide and helped us navigate the menu. Everything was delicious! Especially the tikka masala and the lamb ribs
This was AMAZING! I loved it here. Only bad thing about it was that I didn't stay longer!
We fell in love with everything
Slow & disorganized service, wrong items on the bill, called the manager but they sent a junior staff member. Plates were not cleared on time, nobody came around for us to order more drinks. Place felt very unwelcoming.
Amazing brunch experience and lovely atmosphere!!
A high energy experience with unique food and presentation! Baar Baar was recommended by a friend and we were so happy to have tried it. Our group had never experienced creativity and flavor in this food category. From the small plates to the mains and the hip atmosphere this will definitely be on our list to recommend and visit again.
The service was very poor and not accommodating. We were on time for our reservation and asked to be seated near the bar. The restaurant was relatively empty but still we were denied. Also, they came and picked up our plates at 1:59 - it was a 2 hour sitting time but the mannerisms were very aggressive and rude. Food was mediocre and the mimosas were extremely weak. Overall very disappointed.
Food was at best mediocre.Standard food like the Dal was prepared in a sub standard manner that made it sweet. The butter chicken seemed to be prepared in a similar gravy. Chicken 65 was the favorite of the whole lot that we ordered.
They don't seem to have the basics down. What is supposed to be fusion is actually sub par standard Indian fare.
Special mention to the server who threw dishes with a loud bang on the table while quickly yelling out the name of the dish. Baar baar was advertised as a fine indian but at best serves like a college canteen.
Delicious food, and they were very understanding and helpful with one of our group’s gluten allergy. We were able to eat and share almost everything on the menu.
Modern-contemporary indian dishes served in a chic and sceney ambiance. Fun for a night out!
Loved the food as always!!!
We’ve been to Baar Baar over 10 times in the last year and this has been our worst experience. The naan had stone particles in it. We bit into hard particles on both our plain and garlic naan. Not acceptable for a restaurant that costs ~$150 for a 2 person meal. Although we had open table reservation, it took them over 20 minutes to get us seated.
Delicious food. Amazing service in a beautiful space. Great for groups.
Eaten here before and always love the food. This time I was disappointed because the music was so loud conversation was impossible. This hasn’t been a problem before, if it continues I will not be going back.
Amazing food. Cute ambiance. The service is lacking a wee bit of attentiveness... but it could just be because my recent experiences have been on Sundays and I drink my wine faster than the average person :). All in all, a fantastic restaurant!
Everything from being seated to being served took far too long despite reservations and the servers were nice but I think they were short staffed/overworked which took everything doubly long to get done.
The hosts were just plain rude every time you asked them a question.
The food was good as always.
When a friend or a co worker ask me let’s meet for dinner. I can’t think of any other place better than BAAR BAAR..
Disappointed this time around. Was looking forward to our re-visit, food was good but service was lacking. First brought the wrong cocktail and then forgot one of the small plates which was brought with dinner with no apology or explanation. Definitely was not as good as previous visit.
Birthday and it was amazing
I have never had an Indian dining experience like Baar Baar. The chicken 65 was the softest, most tender fried chicken I’ve ever had, and loaded with spice and flavor. The lamb dish with bread is also a must. Drinks are unusual but good, and the service was attentive and helpful.
BAAR BAAR was a wonderful dining experience. A truly innovative & eclectic approach to Indian cuisine. If you adore Indian cuisine & wish to step out of the box, then Baar Baar is the right place. The oysters, the prawns & most of all the divine pork belly will have you drooling & coming back with friends. I want to come back to experience the Bollywood Brunch one weekend! I highly recommend this gastro jewel in the East Village. You will be not be disappointed.
Really excellent food! Every dish was interesting and had amazing flavoring, even the cocktails were unique and flavorful. Some dishes are a little hot, if you are sensitive to that. The chili prawns for example set my mouth on fire, but at the same time were super tasty. We will order fewer dishes next time as the 5 small dishes ended up being a lot of food for two people, so next time we'll keep it simpler. Service was great. We will definitely be back!
Went for Brunch all ordered food came out cold. No value for the $35 / person. Great if you have been constipated for a few days this will clear you out $100 wasted #smh never again.
Our first time here ! Great food Ambience , service
We will be back soon .
Great food and service.
The overall experience was amazing. Food was yummy and interesting and the staff were very friendly. I will differently come again
