Great homemade Italian food. They even make their own Ricotta ! Pizzas are the best in town. We have become frequent visitors.
Amazing food with amazing service, ticks all the boxes
This restaurant tarnishes the B&B brand. The ambiance was symbolic of a try-hard-and-fail North Italia vibe. It was insanely loud and the only decent food item I had was the garlic knots. The pasta dishes (had a few at the table) were a disgrace.
The ambiance was a little lacking due to very few people dining in. I thought the lobster bisque was very good and we especially enjoyed several pasta dishes including the carbonara, cheese ravioli and vodka sauce.
I will say the calamari needs a little spicing up. It was overcooked and not very flavorful.
Overall quite pleased and will return to try other dishes.
Really great food and excellent service!
Unfortunately out of our protein of choice, but our Plan B entree's were excellent.
We had such a nice evening out.
Awesome place. Great pizza and food!
We visited BB Italia when they were just coming out of the 25% seating pandemic rules. Very welcoming and excellent service. We had the calamari (nice) and the zucchini (straw cut was a little hard to eat. Main courses at the table were the salmon, redfish and carbonara. All were very good...albeit the carbonara was really rich. I took half of it home and enjoyed it for dinner the next day. We agreed we’d visit again to check out some of the other entrees. BB Italia is an excellent addition to dining options in west Houston, the Energy Corridor an even Katy.
It was great!
GREAT food, great experience for a date night! We got the whipped ricotta appetizer, which was pretty good, but honestly the complimentary bread that came out first with their herb butter was seriously AMAZING. Its flavor outdid the ricotta plate in my opinion, which was hard because again, the ricotta was good.
My husband got Grandma’s Ravioli; also amazingly yummy, it was such an awesome combo, the short ribs and Marsala sauce.
I got the Sunday Ragu and it was also SO so so good. Great Italian hot sausage and great meatballs, but the sauce was incredible, I’ll be getting it next time again.
The only thing I didn’t love was the weird mix of pop music they had on, which didn’t even detract from the night because everything else was wonderful. We will be going back and have told our family and friends to go ASAP.
The food was excellent & service too! So great to get out to this gem of a local restaurant in West Houston. Will go again soon!
Food was great! Service was good and we will definitely go back. They have done a fine job carrying on Carmelo's tradition of good Italian food. The Beef Carpaccio melted in your mouth. All the flavors were spot on.
It was our first time eating out since everything was shut down, and it was a great experience. The food was amazing, the servers were excellent, and we felt very safe. They had hand wipes at the table and provided us with paper menus. The food was the best Italian food we’ve had outside New York City. We can’t wait to go back.
Excellent all the way around. Food was amazing. Having enjoyed Italian food in Italy, other areas around the world and in the north east USA we have an appreciation of authentic Italian food. BB Kitchen is a great choice for excellent food, service And dining experience.
We ate at the bar and the staff was so nice and helpful! They recommended some great starters and drinks!
Great happy hour spot in West Houston. Bartenders are friendly and welcoming, and happy hour menu items are perfect.
Trying to patronize our local restaurants by dining in. Dining on hot food served on actual plates and not styrofoam boxes. Tables pretty well spaced, cheerful hostess and waitstaff, no-touch menu option, fresh food. We’re happy to be eating out, supporting these hard working businesses and seeing folks back to work. Give it a go, be glad and tip extra well!
We are trying to get out and do our share to help the local restaurant industry. Not very many people there and all edit staff were in masks and gloves. The best lasagna I have ever had and the chicken Parmesan was way up there. Go check them out!
Prices very reasonable! Food was good. Pizza take home special is a great deal!! Service was good. Very enjoyable dinner!
BB has all the appearance of an upscale Italian restaurant, but the patron’s dress selections seem more like a upscale fast food facility.
As good as any red sauce place in NYC or Jersey. Fantastic.
Terrible. From the beginning, it was very bad experience. When the two of us are dining by ourselves, we prefer to go for bar seating where the ambience is usually energetic and lively. At B.B. Italia, the bar room is dark and dismal, it’s as if it is an overlooked space. Oddly, the main dining room was extremely bright, like strobe lights turned up to 11. After we were seated at a booth in the bar area, a waiter rushed over to introduce himself and shake our hands - yes, shake our hands - at a time when everyone is being advised to avoid hand shakes because of concerns about the coronavirus. When my wife made a joke about it, he just shrugged it off and laughed about it, and then turned to me and shook my hand. They only had one bar tender, who was making all of the drinks for the entire restaurant and serving the food for those seated in the bar area. He could not have been more nice, but he was way over-stretched. It was very noisy, a lot of children having fun but also a table of adults talking at maximum volume. Then the food, it was average at best. This is probably a great spot for busy parents with young children who are looking for food and drink at a venue where their kids can run around. For anyone else, I would recommend staying away.
this restaurant used to be Carmelo's, which was elegant, quiet and a lovely place to have an excellent Italian dinner. The new restaurant is more casual and definitely noisier. I was having dinner with colleagues to discuss business activities. Food was still very good. Waitstaff were attentive. Starters and salads came out quickly, but main courses took longer than expected.
2 of use had the eggplant parmigiana, which was very good. The other person had Gradma's ravioli, which he liked.
A good place to have a reasonably priced Italian dinner, where food is good and service attentive. However, it was not the same as the restaurant formerly occupying this space.
My dining group has been to BB Italia a few times and it's one of our favorites. We had a 16 mile run earlier in the day so it was decided we needed to carb load that evening. Our dishes were awesome, I had my pasta carbonara and the Italian fried chicken. I had to take my leftover home..I had so much food....After a great dinner we hung out at the bar and enjoyed the rest of the night listening to Shaun the piano player. The bartenders were attentive and made our evening fun. Had a couple of drinks and stayed till 11. It was a wonderful evening capping a busy day.
COME BACK CARMELO: the king is gone but sorely missed. There were six of us for lunch at 1:00 pm to celebrate a friend’s birthday. After quite a long wait, we had to go find someone to seat us. The reserved table for six turned out to be a table for five persons. Table cloth was dirty in three places. Waiter came to take our orders but we hadn’t had the menus by which time quite a few of us were turned off and ready to go. The food was mediocre and some of the pasta was overcooked. The waiter tried his best but not enough to make us return or recommend BB Italia to friends.
The food was horrible. Nobody in my group even finished half of their food. Also very expensive for the quality and taste of what we received.
We love B.B. Italia. Our new go-to place for Italian. Great food and superb service.
Waitress was great. Ordered flowers do the table and they were not there. Gentlemen came to the table with excuses. It just made matters worse.
We appreciated that on Valentine's Day the restaurant offered its normal menu rather than forcing a rip-off prix fixe on diners; the latter is often the case with restaurants of this caliber. The ambiance was lively, although there was a conflict between the piped-in music and the sounds of the pianist playing in the bar. The food and wine were delicious and portions overly-generous. Two minor disappointments: 1) the Caprese Salad was billed as using heirloom tomatoes, but they seemed like grocery-store hot-house tomatoes; 2) the menu described the Chicken Parmigiana as "thinly-pounded", but the breast was in fact normal thickness.
4.5 stars...we’ll be back
Everything was great, from the bar service to Katie our waitress. My husband and I are already planning our next visit. Thank you for hosting us so well
Our first time and everything was outstanding!
We reserved a table for Sunday evening around 6:30 PM. The house wine was very nice. Our waitress provided us with excellent service and the meals were very tasty. We tasted two meals; The Basil Pesto
with sun-dried tomatoes and the Eggplant Parmigiana. Both meals were excellent! We will return!
We truly enjoyed our experience. We had a wide variety of appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts and everything was amazing. Service was great, server truly went out of his way to make everything perfect.
Overall a good experience. Food was great, drinks were good and we will definitely be back! Only negatives, the Server was a little odd )too many cheesy and awkward “waiter” jokes), and the valet was in no hurry to retrieve cars.
The food was good , but had really poor service. Our waiter was very inattentive and couldn’t have been any less cordial. I think he was annoyed that we had a child with us which is pretty sad for a family restaurant before 6pm. The food took forever to come out of the kitchen even though it was early and it wasn’t very busy yet. We ordered a small side dish for my 1 year old daughter and asked that it come out early so we could feed her and keep her happy. It took at least 20 minutes, was delivered to the wrong table first, and was cold. Shortly after it was brought to our table the waiter came back and picked it up saying that it had been delivered to another table, that they had taken a bite out of it, then redelivered to our table. They remade it, taking another 5-10 minutes, and it was still barely warm. Really no apology, no offer to comp the dish, or any other sincerity from the waiter or management. This place needs a lot of help in the service department.
This place is perfect for so many occasions. Whether you are celebrating a birthday or an anniversary, there is something here for everyone. The food is absolutely amazing. The prices are very good for the quality and quantity of the food. My wife and I have come here many times and we have never had anything we don’t like here. Everything is good. The service is something special as well. The wait staff are very professional and very well trained.
