About B&G Oysters
B&G Oysters is a modern yet classic take on the oyster bar. Located in Boston's South End, B&G Oysters has a decidedly neighborhood feel, combining polished but friendly service with fantastically fresh seafood dishes and food-friendly wines. B&G Oysters has received many accolades over the years for its cuisine and wine program including "Best Seafood" in 2007 and 2008 by Boston Magazine.
This subterranean spot draws energy from its open kitchen which is surrounded by a white marble bar. In warmer weather, enjoy drinks and more on the stone patio; a favorite outdoor dining spot in the city. Please note that all reservations are for the interior of the restaurant. Our patio is available solely on a walk-in basis.

B&G Oysters Ratings and Reviews
Always a blast to sit at the bar and watch the uber talented chefs work - plus seeing the oysters get shucked right there is fascinating. Love the work that goes into the food - all lovingly prepared with the freshest and highest quality ingredients. Can't miss dining in Boston!
The Lobster BLT without Bacon was $35!! Lobster rolls fresh & yummy all over Boston and New England can be had for $16-20!! They ripped us off badly. Have eaten there many times in the past. Last time! Outside @ 86 on porch/Lanai is quite fab. Not worth these stupid prices!
Butter-Poached Lobster was the best lobster I've ever had. Perfectly cooked. Crispy Red Snapper very good.
I called to confirm directions and they called me back in 15minutes to make sure we didn't need further instruction. Friday early evening traffic, I'll sue Uber the next time instead of driving and parking.
First visit to B&G and we enjoyed the evening very much. We sat at the counter/bar and watched the food prep. We were also treated to a complimentary fried oyster which was very good. We both had lobster rolls because it was our first. The greeting, service and food were all excellent. Next time we travel to Boston we'll go back to B&G.
While not a low cost choice you will find aating at B & G oysters is a real treat especially with out of town visiting friends who want to experience the best of New England Seafood. We opted for sharing 3 types of local east coast oysters, 3 different appetizers - outstanding octopus, fried calamari with a light batter that didn't overwhelm the taste of the sea food, and cod croquettes that were excellent - followed by sharing 2 entrées which the server was happy to accommodate us for in terms of extra plates. The scallops were superb as was the gnocchi with seared calamari which had a very delicate but delicious sauce. We finished our meal by sharing a seasonal Heirloom Tomato and Watermelon with fresh Burratini cheese. Check out the Isla Canarias red wines. The one we picked accompanied the food superbly.
We reserved a table ahead and was given the option of indoor or outdoor table. The outdoor patio was nice on the warm afternoon. Service was informative and safe. Complimentary bread with tasteful olive oil. We went for lobster sandwich and the high tide shellfish platter, both excellent!
Very dissapointing. The host reluctantly seated us for our 945 patio reservation (that they let us make and confirmed) saying it was "a bit late" to be seating the patio. Restaurant was empty inside. Server seemed dissapointed to get another table and was inattentive. The staff were loudly hauling garbage bins up the stairs right beside us as we ate our expensive seafood. Patio is beautiful but we will not be returning.
The best fried clams I have ever had. The clam chowder is excellent. My wife loved her snapper and my friend thought the oyster selection is one of the finest. The cod was prepared to perfection. The restaurant also exudes fun and the service is knowledgeable and friendly.
