Whole Fried Branzino
mixed greens, squash, sauce caramello
celery root puree, carrots, chorizo, aioli
Fried oysters were delicious!
Lobster roll pretty small for 34.!
Overall we enjoyed our lunch outdoors
Food: Oysters were okay, our fish dish was nothing to rave about, fries were memorable, clam chowder extremely watery. Shrimp dish was okay for dessert we shared a banana split cream tasted store brought. There are many other places you can spend $100 per person and get much better food and ambiance.
Service was great! Server was knowledgeable, warm and kept social distance.
Patio was different I was expecting the plants as shown on pictures. But ended up under two big umbrellas.
Overall value for money was not there and below what we were expecting.
Always the best ,my absolute favourite!!!
Great service and atmosphere. Cod dinner was excellent but overall meal was a little pricey for what it was.
Date night in the Covid world!
Outstanding in every way!
When we first arrived they were very accommodating since we had arrived 30 mins early. We ordered the east coast oysters, clam chowder, and calamari as appetizers. For our entree, we ordered the fresh fried clams and lobster roll.
It took such a long time for us to get our food. They forgot about our clam chowder and calamari. Something was wrong with their printer and they gave ours to another table. Something wasn’t said until they brought us our entrees and the waitress had asked if anything else was missing.
I decided not to order the calamari. But still wanted the clam chowder. That was on the house, because of their mistake she said. Fried belly clams were salty but the batter was light. The lobster roll was bland. The bun was toasted but did not come out hot or warm.
Fast forward, we dined downstairs in their patio. So after we left, I went to ask the hostess that was checking in customers, if I could use the bathroom, and she looked at me and said, it was customers only. I told her I was and I had dined out back. She apologized and said she just started her shift. 🤔 right....
I wouldn’t be coming back here.
A glimpse of normal in 2020. This was our first Covid dinner date. We had a table on Waltham St, oysters, two lobster rolls and bottle of rose. Life was great. If you have been trapped inside for too long, I strongly recommend this course of therapy.
We celebrated our anniversary at B&G this year. We have been long-term customers and despite current COVID-19 restrictions they delivered an excellent dining experience as they always do.
Service was great. Food was great. I love dining in south end.
Best lobster roll I have ever had! Great oysters, watch out for the hot sauce. Service on the street in these times was great. We were happy to dine on the street in the shade. Down in the patio there is little shade.
Excellent oysters! Great lobster roll! Amazing service on the patio!
Considering the circumstanced with social distancing it was a fabulous experience sitting outside and enjoying cold oysters we had been craving for quite some time!
With outdoor seating and sanitation procedures in full force, B&G are doing a great job in making sure customers safety is foremost, whilst keeping up high standards of service and food. Great job!
Our first experience dining out post quarantine and it was wonderful. It felt extremely safe and socially distant, but the service still felt so thoughtful and personal. Food was great! Especially the oysters and lobster rolls! Definitely a great place to go to kick off the summer!
It was not fun watching everybody clean up while I was eating. I should have gotten a discount. Food was just ok and Prosecco flat.
The vibe here is just great - like a subterranean diner...loads of fun with excellent service.
Food and drinks were very expensive and just not great
Food was excellent. We were there for their dinner restaurant week menu and the crab cake starter was big and excellent. The pasta dish was very well done and tasty. Love that they have local beers on the menu. Overall, a great experience.
Service is always exemplary!
The food is okay. The service and ambiance were very good. I don't know whether it justifies the price tag.
Had the Lobster BLT special.
The sandwich was good but 1/2 the plate was French fries.
I would have asked to have a veggie substitute if I had known.
I ordered the Crabmeat app and thought I would get whole crabmeat but a crab meat dip came instead with bread.
Best fried oysters ever!!
Our chowder, pretty common in N.E. was unusual & delicious. So was the snapper we shared. Our server was cheerful, helpful, & prompt. The space is nicely decorated, but too small with few windows & dominated by the bar. It's a very good location, across from the Boston Center for the Arts, but I hope they can move into a larger, more comfortable place nearby.
We love going to B&G and seeing the same staff. It tells us they enjoy being there as much as we do. The food quality is exceptional and watching them cook our food right there at the counter is entertainment. The staff is very attentive and makes you feel like you attending a house gathering
B&G is amazing... food is perfect, service was great..
Thank you for the lovely review! We appreciate it and look forward to seeing you again. Cheers, Team B&G
Good service, food average especially for the price.
The food and service was totally excellent. We are making plans to return with more people
All of Barbara Lynch restaurants are fantastic
Bring the whole gang! So happy to hear you had such a nice time we look forward to seeing you again soon. Cheers, Team B&G
Excellent experienced service. They were particularly attentive to my pregnant wife, alerting us to the raw egg in the aioli, which never would have occurred to us. Food was top notch as always. Would like to see some variations in the menu - some different fish options for instance. But that's just because we've been there many times.
Excellent oyster selection. Lobster Bisque is very good. Moule Frites is good not great. It's very pricey for what it is, $209 for two with tip
Very cozy, intimate restaurant with great local vibe. The oysters were outstanding!
Excellent in every way
Valentine’s Day prix fixe was way overpriced and underwhelming. Open raw bar was the highlight but not enough to save the overall experience.
We are so sorry to hear about your Valentine's experience. I have messaged you privately to discuss any further feedback that you have. Please reach back, if you wish, as we would love to hear more from you.
Great service but the food was terrible. Not worth the money.

Great service, Food and atmosphere!! Recommended by anila. So greatful!
We had the last reservation of the evening. We were happily greeted and immediately seated. Our waitress was attentive and our food was very good. I had the lobster, clams, Saugerities and broth special. The sea food was fresh and tender and I enjoyed the broth. We will be back!
Thank you for the lovely review! We look forward to seeing you again. Cheers! - Team B&G
We have already recommended B&G to friends and family!
Thanks Jerry! Cheers, Team B&G
It’s the little things that count, and the staff at B&G are very attentive and made our evening special.
The oysters were fresh, perfectly shucked, and delicious, and each dish after was excellent as well.
We have fond memories here, and added another, thanks!
Thank you for the lovely review! We are so pleased to have shown you a wonderful evening and look forward to having you again soon.. Cheers!
Love coming back to one of Barbra Lynch’s restaurants this place is truly wonderful for its craft seafood, decore and location settings. Can’t wait for outside dinning to return!
