Wine and Oysters on the back patio on a rainy summer Sunday night! Great service and food! Loved everything! Can’t wait to come back!
Delicious - and the outdoor tables were nice and far apart, a great way to celebrate a birthday.
Perfect summer spot - we sat on the back patio and enjoyed a delicious meal with confidence in their attention to safety and health standards. The tables are spread out and everyone was contentious and provided a very high level of service. The food was outstanding and high quality. Overall always a solid choice!
Fantastic, great food, good people!
When we made our reservation I specifically noted that we wanted to sit outside and if we were not able to get an outside seat than we would cancel our reservation. Since we never heard from them we assumed our reservation was as we had asked. When we showed up, the hostess apologized that she never saw my note and informed us that our only option was for indoors. Since we were caught off guard and had no other plans we had to take what was offered. That set the tone for our experience. Than our waiter was also not the best, a bit short and not very accommodating. That all just led to the experience not being a very pleasing one and we would probably not go back. Which is unfortunate because we used to love this restaurant.
Nice outdoor patio adapted to distancing. Great food and wine. Excellent ,friendly and attentive service.
Usually love this place but it was a little off this time. It’s a hard pandemic time so maybe that was it. Kudos to the staff through.
We had a fabulous birthday celebration on a hot night out in the patio (street). New experience dining on street pavement. But very accomodating by the restaurant.
All oysters, mussels, blue cod, soft shell crab, scallops, fish/chips were delicious and fresh as was the heirloom tomato watermelon salad which was a the favorite for flavor amongst the appetizers. Menu is limited and changes frequently, no bread basket, no s/p shakers but lots of FRENCH FRIES!! I applaud this restaurant and others for making the outing celebratory. A sultry night in the city!
Our server was absolutely incredible. He didn’t rush us and knew exactly what we needed before we asked.
Excellent afternoon in the South End. Great seafood lunch. Stellar rose. Excellent service.
We got the tower - and the oysters had grit in them- in a place that specializes in oysters I would expect a relatively clean oyster- the fiat three I was spitting out debris. My son shucks oysters at home with much less grit. The waiter asked if everything was on and I told her they were a “little gritty” - they brought an additional 4 for free which was thoughtful. But overall a bit disappointing.
Perfect respectful service during the pandemic - touchless including payment. Food is superb. The soft shell crab BLT was a winner!
The restaurant had a limited menu. The reason why the reservation was booked was based on menu posted to Open Table. I understand current state of affairs regarding social distancing, but attention to detail is important to set proper expectations. If a limited menu is being offered, it should be posted on OpenTable.
Oysters, lobster rolls and hamachi crudo were fresh and absolutely amazing!
Sat outside on the patio and service was wonderful - everyone was considerate with all of the COVID precautions, staff was friendly and helpful, and the food (as always) was delicious!! Thank you :)
One of the best seafood spots in town! Loved the bluefish ceviche and hamachi crudo especially. Highly recommend!
My boyfriend is moving back to the west coast for med school so we were here to celebrate 😊
The service and food were great!
Thanks B@G for giving us a sense of normalcy amidst a pandemic. That really matters :)
Super cute place. Food was amazing. Service was good.
Will return the next time I’m in Boston.
Really nice outdoor spot
Staff were extremely kind and courteous! They made our date night wonderful!
Best fried clams in greater Boston. Cod tasted old, and they kindly replaced it with another dish. Outdoor dining on the patio - beautiful!
B&G has done a fantastic job adapting their business to the reality of COVID. Tables are spaced out more than 6 feet, utilizing good use of street side seating. All staff wear masks the entire time, and are polite but firm that guests do the same everywhere but at the tables themselves. Servers also keep as much distance as they can while taking orders. The entire presentation is thoughtful and professional. Menus are all electronic and able to be accessed by QR Code on your phone.
Service is very attentive, quick, and friendly. Food is phenomenal, and me and my friend used the phrase "oh, maybe a little more" at least twice.
Well worth the visit.
The lobster roll was disappointing. Fried oysters were excellent as always. Overall for what I paid- over $200- the meal was just ok. No rush to go back, but will try again in the future after pandemic.
Enjoyed getting out and grabbing some oysters. Cocktails were nice and strong. The clam chowder was excellent and I really enjoyed their take on the tuna salad sandwich.
All raw bar options are phenomenal, kind of a funky wine list and bottles are a bit pricey but our server was able to help us find one we liked. Overall great experience!
Fried oysters were delicious!
Lobster roll pretty small for 34.!
Overall we enjoyed our lunch outdoors
Food: Oysters were okay, our fish dish was nothing to rave about, fries were memorable, clam chowder extremely watery. Shrimp dish was okay for dessert we shared a banana split cream tasted store brought. There are many other places you can spend $100 per person and get much better food and ambiance.
Service was great! Server was knowledgeable, warm and kept social distance.
Patio was different I was expecting the plants as shown on pictures. But ended up under two big umbrellas.
Overall value for money was not there and below what we were expecting.
Always the best ,my absolute favourite!!!
Great service and atmosphere. Cod dinner was excellent but overall meal was a little pricey for what it was.
Date night in the Covid world!
Outstanding in every way!
When we first arrived they were very accommodating since we had arrived 30 mins early. We ordered the east coast oysters, clam chowder, and calamari as appetizers. For our entree, we ordered the fresh fried clams and lobster roll.
It took such a long time for us to get our food. They forgot about our clam chowder and calamari. Something was wrong with their printer and they gave ours to another table. Something wasn’t said until they brought us our entrees and the waitress had asked if anything else was missing.
I decided not to order the calamari. But still wanted the clam chowder. That was on the house, because of their mistake she said. Fried belly clams were salty but the batter was light. The lobster roll was bland. The bun was toasted but did not come out hot or warm.
Fast forward, we dined downstairs in their patio. So after we left, I went to ask the hostess that was checking in customers, if I could use the bathroom, and she looked at me and said, it was customers only. I told her I was and I had dined out back. She apologized and said she just started her shift. 🤔 right....
I wouldn’t be coming back here.
Everyday dining feels pretty special during COVID-19 season
A glimpse of normal in 2020. This was our first Covid dinner date. We had a table on Waltham St, oysters, two lobster rolls and bottle of rose. Life was great. If you have been trapped inside for too long, I strongly recommend this course of therapy.
We celebrated our anniversary at B&G this year. We have been long-term customers and despite current COVID-19 restrictions they delivered an excellent dining experience as they always do.
Service was great. Food was great. I love dining in south end.
Best lobster roll I have ever had! Great oysters, watch out for the hot sauce. Service on the street in these times was great. We were happy to dine on the street in the shade. Down in the patio there is little shade.
Excellent oysters! Great lobster roll! Amazing service on the patio!
