I visited B&G for my birthday with family and I was definitely not disappointed. B&G is one of the best seafood restaurants in Boston hands down!
We enjoyed B&G fun, casual ambiance with excellent food. The portion of Spanish octopus was the largest I’ve ever seen. Halibut and Cod were also nicely prepared.
Sample all of the oysters: skip the cocktail sauce and use only horseradish, lemon, and mignonette and be happy.
Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice!
Food and service was out of this world ! The waiter was on point. His timing was perfect. Loved this spot. Ok
The service was excellent and the ambience was enjoyable. However my companion’s halibut dish, although tasty; vegetables were over cooked and cold, the fish warm not hot which made a meal that could have been as excellent as the service instead just okay. Because we arrived at the end of the evening we decided not to make an issue of it considering they oysters, like the service deserved an excellent rating.
Good place but it did not have the wow factor I was expecting (I am a big fan of Butcher Shop and several of the other Barbara Lynch restaurants, by the same owner). Most dishes were very good. We were somewhat disappointed with the calamari.
Also, access to the bathroom can be more customer-friendly.
The Calamari was too thickly coated and greasy. My partner had Octopus starter which was OK. Shared a main course of Sea Bass which we liked. However we thought the ambience was too noisy and our clothes smelt of cooking oil the next day. Our main concern is the high cost of the meal for what you got.
Wonderful food and service (we spilled water twice). Good value. Nice table with a window for larger group (we were 5 people). Loved the fish options, of course.
We are regulars at B & G. Their staff knows their wine and their oysters! Our go to entree is the branzino with a side order of fries. Consistently delicious.!
Loved everything about this place. Excellent, warm service. Delicious food. Great wine program. A total dig it.
Perfect as always. A
Model of consistency. We find it’s the most fun sitting at the bar being able to watch the kitchen in action.
The most amazing service
Our server, Hillary, was a fantastic help when it came to recommendations for Keto friendly menu items. The food was fantastic. She also was very knowledgeable at making great wine suggestions! And sitting at the oyster bar was entertaining, those guys really do a cracking job! Very labor intensive! Cudos to all!
Food was wonderful large selection of oysters, outside seating when the weather is good
consistently excellent. oysters followed by lobster roll, same routine each time, same pleasure
Always delivers a great dining experience. The raw oysters are always phenomenal. I often have the lobster roll for my main course. It is a cold roll with ample amounts of lobster, lightly dressed. Together with their French fries, it is fantastic.
Amazing food and service. Special crudo was uniquely great.
Lobster Roll is amazing!! So simple and delicious. Outdoor seating area is shaded, quaint, and beautiful!! A must go
Lobster dishes were bland. We were hoping for more flavor.
Wife and I under the grape vine, great food, great service. What more could you want?
Hilary, the waitress made our experience that much more enjoyable- I highly recommend this restaurant ~ a must when you are in Boston!
Always amazing! Love B&G. Fantastic staff and superb food. A Boston gem.
Apparently lobster rolls and the lobster BLT are void of flavor. Perhaps it is supposed to be that way- but I imagined them so much better
Barbara Lynch does not disappoint. Fried oysters were absolutely delicious and the raw oysters were got were meaty but delicate. Both the cod and the halibut dishes were excellent - fish was well cooked with a nice crispy sear.
Amazing fresh and fried oysters, the charred octopus was the best!
Excellent service. Great selection of oysters
We were blown away by the food and service. Outstanding.
Very pleasant setting. Too hot to sit outside but inside worked well also.
Nice atmosphere and beautiful outside dining if you wish.
Delicious lobster roll!
Lobster roll might be the best item ever
One of the best meals that I’ve ever experienced.
Amazing and fresh as always! Kate is the friendliest and best! This place is always our first stop when we arrive from Philly. Great atmosphere and the finest seafood.
great food and service. no cocktails, just wine and beer, but a good selection
It was a very hot night and because of the kitchen location the restaurant was very hot
We were sweating through out our stay
Terrific food, prompt service even though the place was packed, overall a great experience.
My buddy from Boston recommended me this spot. This is such a great restaurant for seafood.
I gave this place one last try after having gone a few years ago, but it continues to be way overpriced for average food. I highly do not recommend.
We so enjoyed our meal. The whole team, from the moment of our arrival right through to when we left, was attentive and sincere- just outstanding!
Have been going to this place every time I am in Boston but this time I was disappointed with the food.
The calamari were not well fried and tasteless. The gnocchi were hard, over cocked.
