We have been going to B&G for many years. Recognizing that they have just reopened and are having difficulty getting staff, we were disappointed that the food was less than hot such that we had to send several things back and the clam chowder was tepid at best. I had Oysters Rockefeller and they were actually cold. Hopefully things will get back to normal after staffing improves. We will continue to support B&G as they have been so great for many years.
outdoor patio is so cute! awesome atmosphere and great raw oysters.
Poor service and food was not tasty. Only the raw oysters were good. No heaters and it was cold outside. Dirty plates that we had to send back. This place is overrated.
Everything was wonderful
Not sure what’s going on with B&G but it feels like they had complete staff turnover. Limited menu, food was a bit off.
oysters were tasty and fresh. the salmon was excellent and the bass was good but not as tasty as the salmon.
Outstanding meal! The oysters were fresh, the staff was engaging, and the food was promptly delivered. It is a bit pricey, but that is not shocking to me for this place.
Outside seating on street was nice but noisy. Food was great.
We had a fantastic anniversary dinner on their parklet/patio. I liked that we were able to reserve a table ourdoors. Service was excellent and the food was fantastic. The staff did a great job making sure everything was clean and safe, and wore masks to protect themselves and the patrons. My only wish is that there were more than one cocktail selection on the menu. I really liked that we could pay for our meal using an app. Very convenient and easier for everyone! It's a tough time to be running a restaurant, so I'm really impressed with how well B&G is handling everything!
Best lobster roll I have ever had!
All dishes were high quality.
Not the same B&G - food quality is much lower and price higher. Very disappointed!
Have been to B&G Oyster a number of times and had always been satisfied not overjoyed just satisfied. This time was a whole new experience. Service was slow and more matter of fact than friendly. The appetizers were served after the oysters. And the oysters, pretty blase and comparable with any run of the mill $1 oysters at your local pub.
We are delighted that B or slash their prices in half they cannot survive going forward. Don't rush back to B & G yet. Stay tuned.
We went for Mother’s Day and they neglected to tell us in advance or post on their website that they had a limited menu. One of the mothers who has been there before (and loves B & G) cannot eat a lot of fat due to no gall bladder and the only options were fried food for Mother’s Day and she was at a loss. Very sad considering it was her special day and she basically couldn’t eat anything for fear of getting violently ill. She picked at some things but not at all worth the high prices. I am sad to say this is probably the last time we will be dining at B & G.
Food was ok, but we had to wait for our entrees more than an hour. The waiter gave us free drinks to help us wait.
At first we didn't realize they only had a partial liquor license. We were hoping to have a martini with our dinner but we were fine with wine and beer (which were very good so we had seconds. They have a large selection of champagnes, if that's what enjoy.
We were in a three seat section (only 2 of us at the table) and a large partition to protect us from Covid 19. We knew we wanted Oysters right off the bat and decided on the sampler of several mussels from different New England cities. It was excellent!
For my entree I had the fried clams with seasoned fries. The clams were lightly breaded and melted in my mouth - YUMMY!! The fries were just as delicious. My boyfriend went with the Lobster stew which consisted of mussels, clams...
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes seafood. It was chilly that night so we opted for indoors. But they also had outdoor dining.
Always a wonderful experience and delicious food at B&G!
We loved the atmosphere, food was wonderful, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Great place, always fresh and tasty seafood with excellent wine choices.
Simply the best!
This place was a gem! Food was unbelievably delicious, we had a selection of oysters that were all fantastic, and the lobster rolls were on point! Our waitress was so friendly and the atmosphere was a relaxed vibe/neighborhood feel. Truly a highlight of our Boston trip!
The best halibut I’ve ever had! This is my go-to seafood spot in all of boston.
Great food and warm, friendly service.
Wonderful as usual. The mushroom carpaccio salad is a winner.
Expensive but totally worth it!
Out side seating in parking lane was cold and noisy. The worst part, however, was the lack of service. Terrible getting seated, empty water and drink glasses, extremely long wait times between courses and over ten minutes to pay by card. This is true even as we order all courses at first encounter. Unlikely that I would return. Food was good, but so what.
Michele was so fantastic. We hadn’t been to B&G in over a year and she welcomed us back! She made great recommendations and really made our visit even more memorable than a normal trip to B&G, which is always excellent. The new outdoor seating was delightful.
Suoer nice date night spot
Food was amazing! They seem disorganized yet somehow they pull it together with their process. I absolutely loved it- people were great and food was incredible.
B&G is simply the best !!!!!! Been coming here for years, and they never disappoint!!!!
Best oysters and fried clams we’ve had. The clam chowder is also amazing. Without a doubt one of the best seafood restaurants in Boston. Our service wasn’t as great as expected based on reviews and the lobster roll was a little small for the price, but overall awesome experience.
Oyster Happy Hour was great. Fish sticks and halibut were a must. So delicious. Will definitely be back soon.
This was an amazing experience! I took my parents and best friend here for Easter lunch and accidentally booked our table for indoors but we wanted outdoors. The staff was so accommodating and were able to seat us outdoors as soon as they could. Everything was perfect from the wine to the food and the service was amazing! This was the first time we had all been together in over a year and it really was a memorable experience. Thank you!
This was our first meal indoors since being vaccinated. What a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in and were greeted we felt like we picked the right place. The service was the perfect combination of being attentive and friendly while also being personable. The food was consistently fresh. We loved the clam chowder, the littlenecks and the fried oysters were a surprise hit. For entrees the fish is always fresh. The halibut was a bit more simple than the description promised, but very fresh and well prepared. The baked stuffed lobster was perfectly prepared and easy to get out of the shell. And... as always, the oysters were delicious. Save room for the chocolate mousse. It is worth it!
Staff was very accommodating and food was amazing. Thank you
The Prudential Shellfish Tower was absolutely delicious!
Brent was our waiter and he was wonderful.... courteous, efficient with a lovely, happy smile!
Top notch as always. Best fried oysters in the city, and they always have the freshest crab!
Great spot. Love the food and service
I don’t usually write reviews but.....B&G Oysters was exceptional & NEVER disappoints.
1. The service is excellent from the time you enter to the time you leave. Everyone, on every level, contributed to our great experience.
Shout out to Nick R: my husband & I have had the pleasure of being seated in his section several times. Nick is knowledgeable & always has great recommendations in both food & wine. He is courteous & professional....And quick to anticipate our needs before being asked .
2. The food is phenomenal - tonight we had oysters - we requested small & sweet & that’s what we received. Wellfleet is our fave. Then moved on to fried calamari which was excellent.
Next up: tuna tartare special- PHENOMENAL.
On to the: Mushroom Carpaccio Salad - with shaved Parmesan... amazing & wonderful.
And ended with the chocolate mousse with olive oil, sea salt &... well I’m not even sure what went into this dessert but it was fantastic.
SO...in summary: this pandemic has been crushing to some businesses due to the regulations... but through it all B&G has never sacrificed the quality of food or service. WE WILL RETURN to support them & you should to!
