Wonderful experience! Staff were knowledgeable, fun and efficient. The fresh oysters were the best of our stay. Octopus delish! Recommend reservations.
B and G was amazing! The food is excellent, taste and presentation wise and the raw bar is one of the best in Boston. I wish the service was a bit warmer, friendlier? More personal is a better way to put it. Everyone was nice but I wish I got to know my server more, heard specials, oyster descriptions, any suggestions, things like that. But, it’s delicious with a great ambiance. Def returning and recommending!
Excellent oyster selection. Huge and delicious lobster roll packed with lobster and very light on mayo. No liquors but a nice wine selection. Beer also. Small place so reservation are your best chance for getting in.
We came here after wanting to for a couple years sadly it did not live up to the hype. It was good but not anything incredible the calamari was overly salty and lobster roll good but nothing innovative. It was fresh seafood with no flair. Tired menu a place clearly with its regulars who come for the tired and true.
Great fresh oysters and selection of seafood. Very good lobster bisque and clam chowder. Very efficient and pleasant staff. Perfect seafood place in Boston.
Great neighborhood bar and restaurant. Very casual relaxed atmosphere and the food was terrific, fresh and Yum!
Friday night seafood in a lively neighborhood setting. Fried clams were excellent.
Fabulous lunch to celebrate a 70th birthday.
Restaurant staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.
LOVED EVERY THING!
Oysters were uniformly excellent, and all three of our entrees were delish! High end but with a neighborhood feel.
My husband and I have an amazing meal...The bouillabaisse was absolutely outstanding. The service was gracious, helpful and friendly. We will make this one of our regular spots for sure!
We took our mom here for an afternoon birthday meal, had an excellent bottle of Pouilly-Fuissé and a surprise of fried oysters that were quite excellent. The calamari appetizer was perfectly prepared and our meals were all top notch.
Mom had bouillabaisse and we had the gnocchi and lobster BLT. It was a very hard decision - we could have ordered one of everything.
Our waitress provided perfect service with just enough attentiveness.
Dessert - chocolate mousse with salted caramel topping was so rich and delicious.
Food's good! Definitely in the pricier side.
How great is B you have to try this place whenever you’re in Boston, and if you live in Boston, omg, lucky you! Yum,slurp......
Fantastic service and food! Very creative menu and everything was absolutely delicious! Will be back soon. Highly recommend making reservations in advance, it is very small and most people who walked in were told it was at least a 90 minute wait. However, if you wait- it would still be worth it!
Anniversary dinner! Service excellent. Oysters, calamari, cod and gnocchi so good! Wish we lived closer so we could visit more oftenm
We arrived early for our reservation and they were able to accommodate us. The service and food were excellent. I enjoyed trying new to me types of oysters and seafood.
Great time as usual. Best oysters and great larger plates. Destination when visiting Boston.
Great oysters and very comfortable ambiance.
Always excellent! Service is consistently great and the food is so fresh! Never disappoints!!
Anniversary dinner was amazing! The staff gave us a great table, exceptional service and acknowledged our special day with wonderful service and a very nice and full serving of our wine! Even threw in a special dessert drink... couldn’t have had a better experience!
Amazing. Gave us complimentary oysters to try because we are new to oysters. Clam chowder and lobster roll was great!
Had a wonderful meal at B & G Oysters. From the friendly host to the amazing oysters and the outstanding service everything was spot on. Took our teenagers who loved their meal as well. Not too loud and loved being able to watch all the action in the kitchen. Delicious desserts to boot - don’t skip!
Always amazing. Get the lobster BLT - life changing.
Excellent meal, welcoming environment. Definitely would go again.
Overpriced lobster BLT ($35)
Clams in the chowder were really tough/chewy.
Excellent fresh seafood options. A bit pricey, but for a special date or occasion well worth it. Ambiance nice.
On way to patriots/packers game with the boys...
A great spot!
One of my favorite restaurants. Food is uniformly terrific and the best servers in town.
just plain good, fun, friendly, neighborhood feeling
Food was excellent, lived up to advance billing
I love B&G! Their fried oysters are AMAZING - a definite must order! Their raw bar is also delicious. It's fresh and you can see it and any preparation if you sit at the bar. Service is great and the staff is friendly and accommodating. It is the fried oysters, their cute interior and the staff that keep me coming back. Because, unfortunately, I struggle with the rest of the menu. I find some of their portions to be small for the price, albeit tasty. The lobster roll and fish and chips are very good portions but I found the fish from the fish and chips to be bland. The lobster roll is good though!
The interior is tiny and the bar is for reservations so def make a reservation before coming. In warm weather, they have a cute patio.
My recommendation for this place is to go for drinks, fried oysters and the raw bar. It is on the expensive side but pretty standard for a city.
What a great refuge for lovers of seafood looking to enjoy a quiet lunch on a rainy fall day in Boston. This restaurant prepares some of the freshest and most superb seafood in the world. I say that just having spent some three weeks sampling seafood in Spain. The bowl of clam chowder and octopus ceviche I enjoyed just cannot be equaled. The wine list is extensive and I was happy to see wines not readily available such as Spanish Albarino and a variety of Italian whites. The French wine by the glass is a great wine to complement the chowder. Don't let the size or modest nature of this place deter you. It is about the food. My wife's fried oyster platter was to die for and the many other diners who have paid it a compliment are spot on.
Oysters of the day are a must try. Very fresh. Signature lobster roll is also good I personally like the fries very much but a little expensive. You can definitely have as good as choices at cheaper price point in Boston. In general, this is a bit expensive restaurant but offering good food. I think it is worth of trying at least once.
Hilary is a fabulous server in every way. Knowledgeable, friendly and really made us feel welcome. The food of course was also outstanding.
Amazing, great and fantastic
Really good, but was disappointed to get a sharp piece of shell in my raw oysters along with a sharp lobster shell in my lobster roll.
So good! Really wanted a good lobster roll while we were in Boston & after reading many reviews figured this was the place to go. We were lucky enough to make reservations but really did not need them for lunch. Service was great & the food awesome! Had fried oysters & homemade tarter sauce.. so good!
Lobster roll fresh & very filling! Lots of meat! Lightly dressed!
I'm a fan of B&G. This time the service was flawless as usual, most of the food was great as well. The only comment I have is that I've had a better mix of Oysters here and in other places in the past. There was something off with the choice this time around, and it also felt like some of them lost some of their "juice" on the way. Were more similar to what you got a at a dollar-oyster than at a top-notch Oyster bar like B&G. Weird. Will be back to see if it was an anomaly...
I visited B&G for my birthday with family and I was definitely not disappointed. B&G is one of the best seafood restaurants in Boston hands down!
