This is my neighborhood go-to place - always cordial, fun, cozy, friendly, with an excellent kitchen preparing a short but very diverse menu. Good small wine list, fusion-American, locivore feel, charming!
Something has changed in the kitchen. Our meals were sub-par in relation to previous visits. The English muffin was half a muffin, soggy, topped with only one egg, not two. My wife felt her breakfast meal was not up to standard. I hope this nice restaurant hangs around and gets its act together.
We had gone here before and loved it, so we came back. We were disappointed the menu changed and was no longer the small interesting plates from before, but what we did get, was really good. And the server was really helpful with our Vegan friend.
Put this restaurant on your "do not miss" list for Baltimore! In the lovely Bolton Hill neighborhood, food amazing and my fabulous server Ali got every wine pairing suggestion spot on.
Great place to grab a casual yet upscale bite with a friend.
Seems like the staff and chef continue to change, every time we visit it is different.
While the food slightly better than average, the meal was ruined by the slow and poor service. The worst part of the evening was the comfortably hot dinning area and the female wait staff who insisted upon leaving the door open further adding to the heat.
A pleasant evening, outside seating and superior food. What more could you ask for?
My wife had the Scallops with linguini and I had the Pasta Bolognese. A serious comfort food night.
b. Bistro has become one of our favorite restaurants and, once again, it didn't disappoint.
We love the restaurant normally but Not for restaurant week. We didn't even know it was restaurant week when we went but were dissapointed that it was. In theory restaurant week sounds like a good idea but a restaurant like B bistro with its limited but usually delicious options should not have been part of it. I look forward to dining again when it is not restaurant week.
We are very familiar with this restaurant and decided to visit it again for restaurant week. They have great menu options for $30 and we had a fun evening.
Caprese salad was great .. very tasty tomatoes! Excellent lasagna and really enjoyed the grilled shrimp risotto. A wonderful outdoor dining experience.
As a charming neighborhood restaurant, b always provides good food and a decent wine list, but service can be erratic. Tonight our wait-woman forgot one of two salad orders and then completely misplaced our wine order. She was pleasant, but disorganized.
We were not impressed, the quality of the food was ok but nothing special.
The crab cakes were disappointing and the bolognese very average.
What a disappointment.! This is probably the 8th or 9th time I've been - way different experience than before. Boring menu, bland and dry food, pasta w/ crab (should have been listed as without). The Caesar salad had very little if any dressing and was so dry I had trouble swallowing, the pasta had no sauce nor any embellishments, just beige. Obviously word has gotten out- when we left at our usual time there were only 3 tables filled while in the past it has been packed with people waiting when we leave. I understand this is a new chef: I think it's time to get rid of him if this place wants to be saved,
My wife and I had a early dinner at this charming little bistro before a movie. Located in a historic tree lined Baltimore neighborhood, it is close to downtown and theatres. The service was prompt, helpful and polite. My wife's homemade vegetable lasagna was delicious as was my crab cake. There are local veggies, a very good wine list and a selection of fine craft beers. We loved it and will come again.
