Food came cold, Wait for elote bowl was over 35/40 minutes
Great atmosphere and the hostess was very very very accommodating and all the staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Our party size grew from 2, to 4 them 7 within 20 minutes of use arriving.
Food, they were out of at least 4 of the popular appetizers and even more of they popular main dishes. I wouldn’t return to Azul for late 9pm reservations. The main corse Lobster ravioli was super tasty.
The valet people got my car scratched up so bad . The place is too loud. Waited too long to be served
This is my second time here because my first experience was better than my last. The food is good the service is poor but they are nice servers. There were times we were waiting too long for our order . The order of fries never came until it was time to leave when we wanted it with our meal. The drinks are pretty decent. I would go back but no time soon. I won’t write this place off completely. Cool place for pictures.
Drinks great. Food was okay. Some of my food came out cold.
Good food and our server was so sweet! Will definitely be back
Our waitress was fantastic!
This place was disappointing, to say the least.. Most of the food was good. I can recommend the lobster empanadas and the sea food pasta, my parents got a surf and turf that was also very good (but that was after having to send it back 2x for being too early or too cold and it took our waitress to request a whole newly cooked entree) I do NOT recommend the cold sea food tower, the lobster tasted as if it was warmed and then cooled, it had a very chewy consistency, that is not acceptable with a $175 price tag. Keep in mind the shrimp is cooked and THEN put on ice. I didn't like that our seafood was half floating in cold water. The waitress we had was very nice and tried the best she could, it wasn't her fault the kitchen was sub par. The entree's came out before the appetizers and when we asked one of the gentlemen why that was happening, he had no answer for us, just ignored our question and one had some snarky comment that we couldn't completely hear because the music was too loud. Yes, the food was very good but the overall experience wasn't one I will have ever again. I did not appreciate the loud music(at 5pm), I did not appreciate the snarky comment the bus boy gave my father and the fact that we also had to request a sample of tamarind margarita, that everyone else around us was getting when they were seated.
There isn't any consistency, everything felt rushed, it's like from the moment you walk in, every bit of service is concentrated on getting you right back out the door. Keep in mind there was also a 90min time limit for your table.
The food was really a disappointment, I started with the ceviche as a appetizer and all I could taste was celery. the entire didn't get any better. I wanted the baked mahi-mahi but they were all out so I order the lobster ravioli which was not good at all I could only eat 2 of them. As for the drinks if you are trying to get drunk then this is the place all you can taste is the alcohol and it was for freshly made all store bought mix. For the ambiance it was not terrible good concept the music just a little loud.
Vibes, music and service was great! Food was ok, and very expensive.
Great visit for every day dining or party vibe. The restaurant is sizeable with indoor, upstairs and outdoor options. If you come doing the day enjoy photos outside with the Azul sign. If you come during the evening expect great music with your food. I love the welcome shots…special touches. And the patron margarita tree tower. Everything tasted good. Definitely recommend. Make sure to secure your reservation because this place stays packed!
Unfortunately I was underwhelmed with Azul. The margarita tower was the highlight of the night for sure, but sadly went downhill from there (and not because of the drinks). The service was terrible. Our server very seldom checked on us for anything. One of the entree side dishes came out with the appetizer. Our reservation was from 9-1030p since they gave us a time limit and we didn’t even receive our food until nearly 10:15p. Our server and TWO of the managers were at a table across from us for minutes on end chatting it up with some of the patrons that they obviously knew. Even after flagging our waitress down, she proceeded to chit chat and go to another table before making her way over to us. The DJ deserved her tip. The chips and guac was good though. The stuffed pineapple was more cheese and pineapple than seafood. I should’ve gotten the tacos.
Great place for drinks and food and the staff was amazing.
I ordered the stuff pineapple very good and flavorful not enough meat though. Drinks and overall restaurant was amazing.
Great food and cocktails! They serve the BEST Paella in Chicago! Hands down!
It is way too expensive. We had over a $600 bill with only 5 people, one was a child. I could have easily paid a total of $150-180 at any other Mariscos restaurant. I will not be returning to Azul.
Everything is very nice in Azul and the food is amazing but the music is too loud. You can’t even hear the person sitting next to you. But everything else was wonderful.
Fun and tasty but also a little overpriced, inflexible, and way too loud!! You can’t even have a conversation so you spend a lot to just look at someone and effectively eat alone. The margarita tower has 4 drinks but you can only have 2 flavors (not 4), can’t customize your sides or toppings on your tacos, can’t even order something on the side. The food was delicious but overall the vibe was a little frustrating.
One hour for reservations was a little to short of time and leave you feeling rushed.
The food was excellent. It was pretty busy for a Sunday evening but we didn't have to wait long for our food. Already made reservations to bring a group for a birthday celebration in September.
The server was great and managed multiple tables by herself. The food quality was par.. can definitely find better dishes for the price. Drinks are fun and “insta” worthy.. overall just average
Parking is very limited and the parking attendant was not very nice about it. If you plan on driving, go with enough time to either wait for a spot to open or walk from another parking location that in my opinion is way too far. Otherwise, I would suggest and Uber of Lyft to get there. When we finally got in, and checked in with the hostess, she gave a bit of an attitude. At this point, I thought the experience was ruined (being that this was my first time there) BUT!!!!!!! Mia (our server) was AMAZING and definitely made up for the poor service we received in the beginning. We made sure to tell her how wonderful she was because we need to highlight the good people more often. Food was so good and came out fast. Music was great and BECAUSE of Mia, our group would definitely come back again.
Mia was our server. She was amazing throughout our entire brunch service. She saw that we had our 3yr old with us and accommodated the welcome shots with one Agua Fresca for out little guy, in a shot glass. That was so sweet. The food is off the charts OUTSTANDING. We had the fish ceviche, shrimp ceviche, Lobster empanadas, shrimp pozole, Lobster Mac n cheese, huevos rancheros! ALL of it was made to perfection. We loved it all. The hostesses were super amazing and on top of there duties. They were awesome and helped me set up the next resy I made. Can't forget the busser. He engaged politely when taking our dishes, was funny and a great guy. Perfect all around guys. We love returning to places with this type of service! Looking forward to using three boat dock next time!!!
This is my second time visiting this restaurant. We (2ppl) arrived 10 mins before the reservations. We were finally able to sit 10 mins after the scheduled reservations. We sat at a high top table, the seats were VERY uncomfortable. The waitress took at least 10 mins to greet us and take our drink order, along w an appetizer. She provided a sample drink of a margarita which was good. We ordered a pitcher of margarita, beer and an appetizer. Again, it took forever to get our drinks. The food was okay, definitely wasn’t worth the price for the quality or quantity. Once we finally received our drinks, the waitress sat the empty glasses and pitcher on the table and walked away. You would think, they would at least pour your first drink. When it came to the entrees, I got my order way before the other person. The waitress never came back to check how the food was or how we were doing until the table was clear. I had steak tacos, they were really dry. The loaded waffle fries were good but they added 6 shrimp on the side instead of to the entree. Overall, I think the service could’ve been way better. The establishment wasn’t as busy as the first time I went, and that service was great. I’m not sure what happened this time around.
Azul was an overall good experience. The staff was very kind and multiple people checked in on us. We got extra fries we didn’t order and we’re not charged for them even after saying something! The music was a bit too loud for this setting and this is coming from someone who is never not blasting music. The food was quite good. A bit too greasy. Prices were reasonable. The welcoming staff were not friendly, so that needs to be addressed. It was a young man and woman around my age: 25.
I went here for my birthday with my friends for lunch. The waitress was awesome. We received complimentary shots before dining. The food that we ordered was delicious. I had the half pineapple with seafood stuffing. We ordered the patron tower and I had the spicy mango and blue curaçao patron. So delicious. Great staff!
The vibe was very Miami in a great way. The food and drink were delicious the best pre and post pandemic restaurant meal I have had. The service is describe and attentive. I will visit again but for dinner to compare
I went to Azul for a ladies’ brunch. The drinks were amazing. The food was flavorful and tasty. The restaurant is beautiful. It has Cabo in Chicago vibes!
Such a fun time! Great cocktails and the brunch food was really tasty and a great variety on the menu. A little pricey, but a fun splurge and the atmosphere and vibe were really fun too, even for a very early brunch.
Wonderful people, great atmosphere. Amazing food! Drinks and seafood in point. Definitely will come back.
I loved the food and environment!! Fantastic experience
I had dinner with my husband and friends. We had a great experience.
The service overall was great and the food was amazing!
It was our first time here and we were not disappointed whatsoever!
Love it 😍 tequila was excellent 1942 I recommend it to a friend I’m from milwaukee
They really need to clean the ceilings in the restaurant we had Brown recluse spider coming down over our food. Another huge spider was also coming down. I told our waitress that the spiders were up there because they don't dust. When I told the guys they were like yeah, and kept walking. Our server kept trying to up sell us, but couldn't get our ticket correct. Had food and drinks we didn't order on a bill that was already 1100 bucks. The 1st time I went service was impeccable. Last night not so much. This is the 2nd time I've had the rice and ot was bad each time. I think they try to rush people out and end up under cooking the rice, or the rice was old after sitting under a warmer. Either way rice was crispy. Lobster empanadas were excellent. Fishy 1st time I had it. Lobster raviolis are EVERYTHING! Skirt steak perfectly seasoned and cooked to our liking. They need to stop with the hot and 30 minute time limit set to dine. It's just not customer friendly!
We had a wonderful experience. The food and service was great— already planning my next visit!
I’m general the experience was good. The alcohol was 10/10. The appetizers were 9/10. Entries were 5/10. The service was 0/10. They gave us an hour and half time limit that we couldn’t have met if we wanted to because the only time she came over to us was if we went out of our way to call her over. It was incredibly frustrating. The prices were overpriced for no reason as well.
We had Red Snapper, Seafood Quesadilla, Raw Oysters, Lobster Ravioli, Empanadas, Waffle Fries, Kiwi & Mango Casamigos Margaritas Everything was so good and well seasoned. The ride was a little over steamed but overall great!!!
The food was over priced and horrible. Quality of seafood was good. But flavor was horrible. I asked for salsa and they gave me hot sauce in a bottle. Will definitely not be coming back. Was not worth the $500 spent
