Amazing food and good vibes. We stayed at the hotel as well 5 stars all around
Our meal was delightful from beginning to end - when we arrived we had a beautiful view of the mountains that faded to pink then dark when the lights and fire of the restaurant took over. Wonderful ambiance. Food was outstanding! At our table we had the beef tenderloin with farrow, watermelon salad, house salad, beet salad and chicken with hominy - all very delicious! Service was perfect - just the right amount! We will return!
Luv this hidden gem!!
I was excited about our lunch reservations for this place I had found online prior to our visit to Palm Springs. The décor is amazing.....that's about it. You have to walk through the pool area to get to the small (really small) restaurant. It's awkward and weird. We were seated right away (we had reservation duh) but it took a LONG time to get our food. I ordered the sweet potato fries and Brussel sprouts salad (I'm vegetarian). My 3 friends all got their food; chicken sandwich and fish tacos and I only got my fries. We had to remind them about my salad. I can't imagine it took longer to prepare shaved Brussel sprouts and throw in pomegranate and some dressing than it was to cook chicken and fish ??? They forgot about my salad. Like I mentioned it is a small restaurant. It doesn't make sense how our order took so long and they forgot my salad. It could be because the waiting staff also takes bar orders for everyone at the pool. We weren't asked if we wanted drink refills or another drink from the bar. They had about 4-5 employees there but only one hard working Latino guy was running all the drinks to the pool, taking orders and brining food from the kitchen. Everyone was just chillin. We also noticed that one of the staff people was having an HR moment with 2 people who I am assuming were owners or upper management. They place is small, it was unprofessional...take that to the back. All of this including the fact that they are not Latino owned but have Frida Kahlo portraits everywhere.....we won't be back.
Great place to spend a beautiful evening in Palm Springs. The decor is gorgeous and I highly recommend sitting outside on the deck. Food was delicious and our server was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend and will be back!
Atmosphere was good, very comfortable. The food was poor and it was served cold.
Really great environment; great food and wonderful service. Highly recommend Azucar when you are in Palm Springs.
The ambiance is perfect, bartender Pablo makes the best cocktails ever! Our server had a bit of attitude but we were not there for him “her” so we didn’t care
Everything else was perfect
Will definitely come back
Oh and the manager from Argentina was super nice and gave us a tour...really cool place
Love this place, everything about it!!!
Loved everything about this restaurant, from the atmosphere to the food to the service. We will be back for sure!
Food was very mediocre looking. We had a glass of wine and then ate at Workshop. Shocking that they had no Mexican food.
Beautiful evening and were able to sit outside. Service started out great for drinks, appetizers (watermelon salad, cauliflower risotto) and entrees (tenderloin, stuffed poblano, chicken breast). We were then neglected following completion of our entrees for quite a while as it appeared our waiter instead relieved the bartender with no warning nor attention from other staff - even the hostess standing feet from us. So our plates were left quite a while in front of us and searching for someone to assist. They also appeared to run up and down the stairs to serve Sugar High. Finally, we did get attention and clearing of our entrees and ordered desserts and after-dinner drinks. But got no apology, offer of a free dessert, etc. Food was all very good and wonderful atmosphere. But prompt service and communication were lacking.
The rooftop was splendid on a beautiful Palm Springs afternoon. Martin was attentive, personable and professional. There was no rush to order and the experience was relaxing. Excellent menu. We loved the fish tacos and the seafood salad.
We loved the atmosphere with the umbrellas upstairs. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The fish tacos were amazing. Both of us had them. Service was very professional and friendly and we were served quickly
Last day of vacation in Palm Springs. Food was ok but not worth the price.
Usually love this place. It’s gorgeous and the food is quite good. This last visit was very disappointing due to the terrible service. It took at least a half hour for 2 cocktails 1 coffee and 1 Arnold Palmer. Then about another 30’to 45 minutes for our meals. One meal was missing but after 10 minutes we finally alerted the waiter who hadn’t noticed and asked us what it was. You should know I replied.
Have dined here several times before; this time service and food were slow, cold food. Disappointed for sure, love the atmosphere. Too many other great choices in PS
Great setting sitting around the beautiful pool.
Delicious food; great menu.
Good food, service a bit slow. Did not get prior info about a possible table upstairs.
The food was okay - not exceptional given the price. Also the service was so fast that we felt rushed. We had to ask for our main course to be held or we would have finished our meal in less than 30 minutes.
I ordered the Swordfish entree. The size of the entree was like a small appetizer. Even with the vegetables. I felt hungry. Just not satisfying. It was a ridiculously small portion . The waiter felt bad and reduced the cost of my entree by 25%. ...but even then I was still very hungry.
Wife’s birthday lunch
Friends visiting from Minnesota
The design quotient is a 10, and the service is on par with that. There are options for more quiet or vibrant table seating areas - inside or out. There are heaters and umbrellas for the outdoor areas so comfort is considered. The quality, flavors and presentation of the food are bot authentic and creative. We selected Azucar based only on reviews as we were traveling from out of town, and enjoyed my birthday dinner very much!
Azucar was such a great dining experience. The ambience is perfect with the mountains as the backdrop and the Mediterranean feel of the space. I went with my mom for her birthday and we were treated so well. Scott was our server and was perfectly attentive. He also gave us plenty of awesome recommendations for us in Palm Springs as we are from out of town. The rooftop where we dined was so awesome and had lounges for us to move to for tea when we finished our meal. If I come back to Palm Springs I am 100% going to Azucar. Thank you for a great birthday dinner for my mom!!
The rooftop deck is especially spectacular for dinner. I have the beef tenderloin and the cauliflower risotto is always fabulous. Everyone seem to love their meal
Always love this place, but the service was short this time. We were asked if we had a reservation when we walked in past the reservation desk, again at the host podium, again by someone random. Was odd. We were seated in time, then waited 25 minutes for a server to ask if we want drinks. Then another 15 to get them- almost 45 minutes after our reservation. Ouch. Food took a long time. Once it got there it was good, so were the drinks. But most likely a staff problem in a busy restaurant.
I am hoping this was a one time thing
Went for dinner with my mother. Great food in a beautiful setting. The service was really outstanding.
Can’t say enough about this place
Fantastic food and service - our server Mark was attentive, gave us perfect recommendations and made our lunch a great experience - totally recommended for vegetarians!
Poor service on Presidents’ Day
After we arrived for our 8pm reservation, they sat us outside under a plastic awning with no heating in a fairly frigid evening.
We all asked for cocktails and while two in our party ordered only appetizers, the other two ordered main courses. The waiter brought two of the appetizers in a reasonable time. After waiting for the main courses for 45 mins, the waiter told us that they had a party of 15 downstairs but offered no other relief or compensation. The main courses actually arrived after 1 hour.
All in all a very disappointing experience.
Second time dining at this fun and fashionable restaurant. We sat inside; charming decor. Our service was excellent. The food was prepared exactly right. Highly recommended.
Great service, attractive decor and people watching. The watermelon salad was fantastic. Unfortunately, the vegan abondigas soup had way too much salt that it was inedible and I had to send it back, something I haven’t done in years. We were next to an exuberant party and it was very loud and unpleasant.
This was a BD dinner celebration tasted like burnt pan drippings with excessive salt; the impossible meatballs were tough & tasteless. By the time this order was replaced, we'd all finished our meals. Another order of ours was of scallops, quite pricey for only 3 large scallops which were too salty. Another order was swordfish, only fair and too salty. The server was overly solicitous, too much detail, not telling us what we actually needed to know. He really talked up the special creations, which were indeed very creative, but the chef's taste buds and/or experience were sorely lacking! This is a somewhat pricey restaurant that was disappointing at best. When the $230 bill arrived, we drank no alcohol & didn't order dessert, there was nothing credited to us for the inedible meal. Overall, a very poor dining experience. Thankfully we enjoy each other's company enough that we still had a good time. I'd like the restaurant owner/manager to contact me to address this terribly negative experience. We 4 will tell our friends about this dining fiasco and never return to Azucar again.
Backed up due to Valentine’s Day. You’d think they would plan for it since reservations were required and it was a prix fix dinner. Dropping $200 for 2 people I would expect better. Will be back on a regular day. The place is charming.
We had a great dinner. This was a price fix Valentine dinner
The desert choices were disappointing considering the occasion
It is hidden gems. Beautiful and elegant. We came for Valentine’s Day. Good foods but pricey.
The only down side was the dessert . It was very very tiny .
Azucar is a total delight! Martin is Top Service with a smile and an amazing ambassador for La Serena Villas. Great food and service. Plus Sugar High for cocktails is perfect! Can’t wait to go back’
Don’t go for breakfast. Service nonexistent.
Probably the only restaurant in PS that we enjoyed our food at. Seriously. The drinks are tasty and the food was delicious and actually had flavor. Unlike so many other restaurants in the DT area.
