Great food, friendly service. A favorite. Always go when we are in Ojai.
Went for Sunday brunch. Service was friendly and enthusiastic, but slow. Charged for add on item that was not served.
Best food experience we had in Ojai. The Chourizo Stuffed Dates and Gambas Al Ajillo from the small plates menu were recommended by our server and were delicious!!! Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Service was very pleasant, but at a snail's pace. The food was fine, but nothing outstanding given that it was fairly speedy for lunch. Would I go back....I would maybe give it a try for dinner and see if they up their game at night.
We had heard amazing things about Azu and we’re excited to celebrate my cousins 50thbday there. Yet we left very disappointed. We had an early reservation.5:30. They had a private party that night which was in the back room. When our main entree arrived 2 of the dishes were cold. So we sent them back to be reheated. We also ordered a third entree which was Paella which they specialize in. The waiter brought the dish and said, I was told after you ordered they we were out of shrimp. If there’s none there you can order something else. There were only 2 pieces of shrimp and lacking in seafood they advertise. Mainly rice. We expected more especially the price of the entree. We did not send the dish back since we were celebrating a special occasion. My sister did show her dissapointment. Also I had to remind them we were celebrating a 50th bday, which I had to mention since they didn’t acknowledge it even after it was left on the notes when making reservation. Truly disappointed. Hoping it was an off night for them. Most likely would not go back.
Enjoyed the food...fresh and unique...fantastic Syrian salad and best Chicken Soup. Very pleasant service. Will definitely be back.
People were great, food was tasty
I was brought the wrong entree, but it was quickly fixed
There was one server who wore heavy high heeled boots that were disturbingly noisy when she walked through the wooden floored middle room where we were seated.
Had a lovely evening to celebrate a surprise visit from my son, who lives in Montana. While the bar area was lively, we had a place in the dining room that was perfect for conversation as we had some catching up to do. The food and the service were both excellent.
A wonderful place with great local wines and beers. Farm to fork friendly! A great example of what makes Ojai so unique.
Taylor was absolutely amazing! Her service is first class. The food was exceptional and the courses were aligned with the cuisine that is offered. We really enjoys ourselves and will be back again with friends! The only critique is that they need to dim down the dining area to enhance the true ambiance of this restaurant. Great job!
Came here during a trip to Ojai. Loved trying the craft brews from next door. Menu was interesting and the food was pretty good! Not the best meal we have ever had, but solidly decent and cheaper than some of the other fine dining options in Ojai. Interesting art on the interior walls.
Great downtown location. Tap room and bar at the front and a few cozy chairs, booths and tables in the front. The back has more tables but it's cut off from the entrance. We enjoyed the front room for people watching and street view. Service was helpful and friendly. On site brewed beers were delicious. All of our food was great. There's also a free smaller tables out side.
Wonderful time. We've been here once before for lunch after a hike and this time we returned for a special dinner. It's our favorite restaurant in the Ventura area and we will be sure to make it a regular part of our vacation. The food was good, the service lovely and the ambiance and wine and beer made it exceptional.
Love this place! Excellent food and cozy when the fireplace is going.
Our server made the evening special. She was delightful, helped selecting great food choices and finding the right wine for the evening. We'll be back.
Hit or miss with food and beer.
Yes to Chicken Mezze and buffalo cauliflower.
No to falafel chile relleno snd most of their beers.
Awesome service - wonderful experience - great food!!
The food was fine, but we found the service to be quite rude. The food itself took over 45 minutes to arrive. When we inquired if our server could check on the status of our food, he responded, "It'll be a while," without offering to check with the kitchen or offer any explanation. Will not be returning.
Azu is my favorite restaurant in Ojai! I love introducing new friend to Azu so it's my "go to" when I have company.
Went to Azu with my wife and two children. Service was wonderful, and the menu was not only kid friendly, but had some wonderful tapas and an amazing arugula and fig salad that was extra special. Ambience was nice, filled with art from a local artist. Will definitely return the next time we are in Ojai.
A cute looking place butrun very poorly. We made reservations for 5:30 before a concert and had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table despite the fact that there were several empty ones. Then it took an hour for our food to arrive (a burger and a shrimp taco) REALLY? The server did apologize, and brought some complimentary hummus. I didn't blame her it just seemed like they were really confused. At one point seven employees were waiting by the tiny kitchen window where the food came out. We were late to our concert because of the slowness. It is too bad as it looked cute and seemed to have potential. The martinis were good too.
We ordered several appetizers. the hummus and the potatoes were good. Our main dishes were the paella and the zucchini pasta. Both main dishes did not have a lot of flavor. Service was wonderful and maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes.
Was hoping for a better. Maybe expecting to much from a micro brewery that also does tapas. Wasn't bad, just wasn't notable or exceptional.
Food wasn't good.
Loved our dinner at Azu. We were looking for good food and decent vegetarian choices in a tapas setting. Azu did not disappoint. The chopped salad was beautiful and plenty to share. The olives were delicious. We then shared falafel stuffed chili relleno which was incredible but made us wish it was double the size. Spicy, cheesy potato tots on the side were yummy. We couldn't resist creme brûlée for dessert which was fabulous. Left very 😊.
I specified it was a birthday and our waiter and host forgot so I had to ask for a candle for my girlfriend, and that was after coming in the afternoon day of our reservation and double confirming everything. The main course salmon was very underwhelming, lacked any flavor palette. The tapas were delicious as was the soufflé.
Excellent friendly service, delicious wine, entrees and desserts. Lovely ambiance. My friend and I had a wonderful time. Will definitely go back soon. 👍👍
If you like old school hiphop the music was fantastic!!
First visit to Azu, and looking forward to the next. Their craft beer is excellent. Did a flight of six, and enjoyed each of them, particularly the white pixie and dark lager. I'm not a fan of the big hops trend, and there were plenty of options for me to enjoy (but don't worry hopheads, they have IPA too). We tried a few apps - fried potatoes, cauliflower - very tasty. My wife and kids are vegetarian, so they had the vegetarian paella, and I had the seafood paella. Everyone left full and satisfied. Will definitely return, maybe without the kids next time and enjoy a few tasty pints with the wifey.
We received notice from you we were no shows no true. Had excellent meal.
The menu was really interesting but the food didn't live up to the descriptions on some dishes. Also, the portion size of the "entree" we ordered was too small to share.
Delicious food all around with friendly service. A must eat when in Ojai!
I took my wife here on Sunday evening and we had a fantastic time. Would highly recommend for a special night out.
We wanted to try something outside of the Ojai Valley Inn and found this place online. The food was tasty and provided us with a good ethnic food experience. The chicken was a bit dry, but the flavors were wonderful.
The back room, where we were seated, was so noisy I couldn't hear the person next to me. Caesar salad was barely dressed. Cheese was dry. The hamburger was dry, the bun was stale. Best part of dinner was the root beer float.
A good local....spiffed up over time. They got rid of the ugly fluorescent lit refrigeration case in the front dining room. The staff seems well trained and pleasant. A good bar tender. Reasonable prices etc.
Terrible service. Server forgot things, and disappeared mid-meal. Food was cold and bland.
First time visit to Ojai for 3 out of 4 of us. Was recommended by Ojai Olive Company, but had already made the reservation based on TripAdvisor reviews. Good food, nice staff, reasonable pricing. Their rice flour battered Calamari was a big hit especially since we are Gluten-Free. We had to double our order :)
Hostess was polite and knowledgeable, food was amazing, nice private dining room in the back.
Server Jackie is awesome. Good food. Love the art on the walls in the dining room.
