Loved the tapas and desserts menu. I was thinking they would spend a minute or two giving us recommendations of what paired well together. Unfortunately we had a young waitress who just wasn't very friendly. If you had another wait staff I'm sure this would be a fantastic place to grab a bite before or after a show, for a date or special occasion. Overall, slightly disappointing and with a little effort could turn that completely around.

Good food. Nice Chocolate Martinis, but a bit too sweet. Place was very crowded, seems like they should have reduced atleast 2 tables instead of packing people in like sardines...Hostess was unfriendly and stressed in the beginning, probably because our seats weren't available.

My reservation was for Valentine's Day. There was a misunderstanding between me and the restaurant. I was told a few days prior that the dessert menu would be the same, but upon getting to Ayza we were given only a course menu. So we asked the manager if there would be a separate dessert menu, and he rudely told us no and that it was our fault for misunderstanding and for not answering a call (which I didn't even receive) rather than plainly explaining the situation. I thought he could've handled it more politely and professionally. He pretty much ruined the atmosphere of a perfect date night & an otherwise decent place.

We went to AYZA for Valentines Day, which was extremely busy and it felt like the meal was very rushed. We weren't even finished with our courses, when the staff brought out the next course. I realize that the place was busy and many people needed to be seated, but a romantic meal should not feel so rushed. In addition, the food was not great, so it felt over-priced in the end. I may return to give it another shot, but not the best first impression.

Love this place! The staff is always great and the food is fantastic. Only problem this time was a table full of young kids who were ridiculously loud, and 3 sets of parents who were even louder than their kids. Not the fault of the restaurant and I felt sorry for the waitress. I still wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ayza - one of my favorites.

This is the restaurant where I proposed to my wife 3 years ago. She and I loved it: cozy and fun with great choices of drinks and chocolates. Our waitress was kind enough to give us some anniversary bubbly on the house. We'll definitely go back more often!

Hostess was great! Had made reservation for 5 but a 6th person ended up joining us at the last minute. She occomodated our group with a smile and a warm welcome.
Our server was equally professional and pleasant.
Food was delicious and importantly: Affordable for grad students on a workshop weekend! Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Amazing!! We decided just to get apps, a cheese board and of course dessert. It was the perfect decision. No clear winner between the apps, all were full of flavor. Service was great, very quick and efficient and friendly! We finished with an espresso martini and couldn’t be happier. Will 100% be back!

Fun and exciting!
We came for wine and chocolate and ended up having cheese first. Great service, cozy tables like in Europe, which was fun! Unique choices and a really nice evening.

My fault, we where 20 minutes late for our reservation. !st time to NYC and didn't plan accordingly for the traffic. Food was excellent however because I was late, we were placed in the outdoor section. The heat lamps were so hot that we had only a drink and an appetizer. Again, food was great as was the service however try to avoid the heat lamps outside.

We found this place serendipitously and are so glad we did! The wine and cheese selection is perfect for a relaxed snack, and the apps were very tasty (my husband raved about the white truffle pizza and I loved the chicken tacos). Our server was also fast and friendly. We will defintiely be back!

There is inside seating and outside seating. Yes, even in winter. If you don’t want to freeze your butt off or get stuck at outside seating (plastic that zips and unzips open) I would recommend you specify your seating location in your reservation and call to confirm. I would have been livid if we were seated outside. Mulled wine was good and not overly sweet, but the housemade hot chocolate wasn’t anything special or worth the price.

I was *so impressed* with the front of house staffperson - she knew I was there for a special occasion (best friend's b-day) and she asked if we were okay waiting a little extra time for our table (we got there early) so that we could have a more quiet corner. They also had a sparkler in the cake and our waitress Sam was a sweetheart who made some great recommendations off the menu. It was a great evening and a wonderful way to treat a dear friend. And I was so full of delicious dark chocolate fondue by the end that I had to roll myself home! (!!!)

The options at Ayla are great, be ready for a cramped restaurant though. The tables are about as small as possible, so when we both had ordered a drink and two options for food, it was nearly impossible to fit it all on the table. The waiting staff came by every now and again to check on us. The clean up staff however, tried to take our food while we were still eating over and over again. Overall, the food was good (nothing special) and the wine options were ok.
