AYZA Wine & Chocolate Bar Ratings and Reviews
Everything was going just fine. Food was good, drinks were good. Had let the hostess know it was our anniversary. Then they REALLY knocked my socks off. They brought out a sparkling dessert. One mid sized strawberry with a firecracker in it - free of charge! Absolutely thoughtful. Every anniversary will be spent here.
We got a very last-minute reservation here and had low expectations. But what a great time we had! Complimentary mulled wine and delicious bread with ricotta. Fine selection of appetizers to share -- several were enough for a meal for 3. And chocolates for dessert! Great service, never felt rushed. We felt like we hit the jackpot with this place.
Such a fun little spot! It was really crowded but thats to be expected in midtown. The cheese platters were phenomenal and I loved the complementary wine sample, such a great added bonus! Ordered the molten chocolate cake for dessert and they put in a sparkler candle for my birthday!
Visited during Happy Hour on a chilly evening. We were greeted with mulled wine which was a nice touch. Very nice ambiance. The chocolate martini was very good and comes with a piece of chocolate. Tomato soup was amazing and the pizza was good. Servers were very attentive.
Always have a great time at Ayza! It's my go-to spot for a girls date or girls get together. Love the truffle pizza! Got the chicken tacos for the first time and they were delicious. And my go-to drink is ALWAYS the raspberry chocolate martini - i HIGHLY recommend it!
Upon arrival the restaurant was very busy - which was good to see. I liked the ambiance yet very noisy. Hard to talk and hear each other and we were seated outside. The appetizers were excellent. Chicken tender lollipops with a hoisin-type sauce - very good! The fried avocado fries were excellent as well. My main meal was the beet and goat cheese salad with grilled chicken. Everything tasted good except the chicken was very dry as if it had been cooked several hours before serving. It wasn't juicy at all. The food presentation was done very well. I would go back and try the dessert. Overall I give Ayza a 4 star rating.
I've been to Ayza several times now and it's always great! I had the BBQ Pulled Pork Panini and it was great. I wasn't in the mood to get a drink that night, but hoping to get a chocolate martini the next time I'm there. I had only been there for lunch in the past, so this was my first time going at night. My only criticism is it was so dark inside, I found it difficult to stay awake as time went by. I get that there has to be ambiance, but I don't think I need to struggle with a headache as a result of how hard my eyes are working. Besides that, I love Ayza!
I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. It is the perfect setting for a Girl's
Night Out, which is exactly what our occasion was. I recommended it because I have been there so many times before and each of my friends said that it was the perfect pick for us to get together. Very cozy yet still lovely because of the bar atmosphere, the food is great and so is the selection of wines. We needed a nice fun not to crazy night out and Ayza as always did the job.
Ayza has long been one of my favorite go-to spots for a drink, a friends' dinner, a lunch meeting - almost for any reason. But the other night, they showed again *why* they are. Their service is always above and beyond and spectacular. I'd made a reservation for two - myself and a friend, who's in from out of town. Her co-workers asked to come along and before we knew it, we needed a table for 10.
That's a big change at the last minute. Though the night wasn't super-busy, it was busy as usual and there were no tables for that large a group except one that had been reserved. But before we knew it, the hostess had conferred with other staff, and five small tables were added to the outdoor seating to give us our table for 10.
Though I'd had similar experiences to that in the past, this was so far above and beyond that I had to write a review. I've told other people many times that the service at Ayza is the best. They did this not because I'm a regular (I'm not - I go there maybe every two to three months, sometimes longer in between because I don't work in the area), but because they are just that amazing.
My husband and I have been coming here for 6 or 7 years. It’s our absolute favorite spot in the city. Sometimes we do full meals and others we only do a cheeseboard, wine & desserts but it’s always delicious. The owners take such pride in their restaurant and ensure you always feel valued.
I love this place! Been going here for years and it never disappoints. The smoky eggplant spread should be bottled. Theres nothing like it! This was a girls night out hangout until my husband had the chicken lollipops now, you cant keep him away! Just gets better over time!
Overall the food was excellent. This was my second time at the restaurant. One thing i would change about the food is making the entrees available during lunch, the beef dish is by far my favorite dish i have eaten. This time we were there for lunch and i was told it was only available from 5pm. That was ok though since the appetizers and soup were delicious and would not change a thing about them. The one thing that was absolutely horrible was the service. Took 20 minutes to get a server, never checked on, took 20 min to get the check.
Can’t wait to come back to this restaurant!!!. I ordered the lunch special (M-F for 10.95). I am a picky eater and they wouldn’t allow changes to the sandwiches since it was premade but I was so surprised, I ended up loving the meal as is, and would definitely reorder this again. The lunch special was a good portion and very filling. I also ordered dessert, the meltdown cake with ice cream and it was so good. Overall, i think this was a great lunch spot and will be back again. I need to try the rest of the deserts too!
Came here for a late dessert date after being recommended by a friend. The hostess tried to give me a seat in a cramped and darken corner. I objected, and she then attempted to give me a seat in a corner on the opposite side. I opted to sit outside; she made us wait five minutes for a seat despite tables being available. I sat next to a screaming and obnoxious woman and I couldn’t enjoy my dessert. The server had an attitude it appeared because I was only doing dessert and wine, and no entree. When she delivered my margarita she threw the napkin down— I was stunned by the rudeness. The chocolate pizza is appeasing to the eye and tasted ok. However, I’ll never return back. Get new employees!
My best friend and I love this place. They have such a cozy ambience and amazing small plates perfect for sharing. We ordered the angry chicken lollipops, avocado fries, white truffle pizza and chocolate fondue during our visit. everthing we tried was delicious! They also have rich creamy chocolate martinis that are worth the try.
I didn't realize how small the restaurant is. It's best to sit outside if the weather allows. The drinks are amazing. Especially the chocolate martinis. I would definitely go again but for a date and not for a friends Gathering because it's a really small restaurant.
