We only had appetizers and drinks...oh and desserts. It was delicious, service was very good, nice touch having cucumber infused water for the table. They had outside protected and heated area as well.
We were looking for a late night dessert option and gave Ayza a try. Great service and amazing desserts. The vibe was intimate and hopping at the same time. We will definitely be back.
At first we were seated in the inside, in the corner with the speakers blaring in our ears. We could not even hear ourselves say we did not want to sit there. We got moved to an outside seat, BUT the hostess was a bit rude. She said, "You will have to wait." It was just her tone; she was annoyed. So sorry that I did not want to have music blasting in my ears while I dine and celebrate my birthday. Anyway, the service for the rest of the meal would have been fine IF the busboy did not stand over us and literally jump the second he noticed that we took the last bite of something and grabbed our plate. One time I had to stop him, as I still had food on my plate. I told him to calm down and to look at my plate and to not grab. He then stepped back and watched me as I ate. He was very annoying. The food was good, not great. Our waitress was good, but the bus staff ruined the meal. They ran and ran by our table, and bumped my chair about 10 times, never apologizing.
It was awesome!
Not sure what all the hubbub is about with this restaurant. Maybe it’s the combination of wine and chocolate that lure people in. This was recommended by a bartender from another restaurant. The wine “bar” means one choice for each varietal, chocolate is good but the food was just mediocre.
Good tapas- nice wine list- very small but would be a lot of fun in warmer weather
Amazing!! Will go back!!
Food was not great. Come for the drinks and chocolate fondue
Fun atmosphere. Solid food selection and it was well prepared. Nothing too fancy, but done well.
Not bad for the price
Love coming here after a long day trip and grabbing a drink / food before catching my train. It is just down the street from Penn Station, the prices are reasonable, and the food is nice. I’ve taken friends, family, and clients here and they all seem to enjoy it. Also, their spiced wine is fantastic and my favorite winter treat!
Really enjoyed our meal. Great selection of cheese board options. Wine and chocolate pairing was great. Chocolate martini's were great, and 20 layer crepe dessert was devoured. Even though we just finished a pizza tasting tour and everyone said they were full. There were more items I wanted to try but did not have any more space.
Best in NY
Just went here for my birthday with a couple of my girlfriends and LOVED it. The cheese platters are a MUST and there is a great food selection. More so, the wine list is expansive! I love wine so it was perfect for me. Some of my friends who don't drink wine were still able to order cocktails, so no worries there. It was very crowded and pretty loud, so be prepared for that. It was a bday celebration so we were completely fine with it. The outdoor space is almost larger than inside but inside is super private, kind of romantic and dark. Totally my atmosphere. Try to pizza & the ravioli, so yummy! Loved it and would go back!
We ate here late, after the theatre, and the food service was quick and delicious, with a good range of options. Reasonably priced wine, and a lovely heated area on the street - kept us warm despite it being freezing outside! Highly recommended.
Everything we ate here was beyond delicious. I found things that were gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free and they were awesome. Beautiful presentation. Not badly priced.
We go here all the time for brunch or light dinner and it’s always a fun experience with great food.
This is a great restaurant. The food and service were great. My only complaint is that we were seated next to the zippered entrance. It was freezing outside and as peopled entered, we got a blast of the arctic every time. No one zips it back either, so I got up about 7 times to zip it back before asking to be moved. We loved our experience otherwise.
Great appetizers. Excellent service.
The staff is always friendly and professional. The lunch prix-fixe is a great value. Ample wine and drink selection - raspberry chocolate martini is the best one. Great for business and personal occasions. I can’t wait until it’s warm enough to fully enjoy their outdoor space again!
Fast friendly service with great food.
Fun & delicious.
Great happy hour selection.
The chocolate fondue is amazing!
The food was incredible! The avocado steak fries, mushroom ravioli, and mint chocolate martini were amazing!
The food was delicious and the wine was excellent. The chocolate from Jacques Torres, was great. They also had a heated outdoor area that was very comfortable and warm in February. I'll be sure to return here.
Great service and food. Very accommodating host.
Loved the tapas and desserts menu. I was thinking they would spend a minute or two giving us recommendations of what paired well together. Unfortunately we had a young waitress who just wasn't very friendly. If you had another wait staff I'm sure this would be a fantastic place to grab a bite before or after a show, for a date or special occasion. Overall, slightly disappointing and with a little effort could turn that completely around.
Food and drinks were great. Had to wait almost 15 minutes after sitting to place order, but other then that it was good.
Always a great time, great drinks and yummy food.
Good food. Nice Chocolate Martinis, but a bit too sweet. Place was very crowded, seems like they should have reduced atleast 2 tables instead of packing people in like sardines...Hostess was unfriendly and stressed in the beginning, probably because our seats weren't available.
My reservation was for Valentine's Day. There was a misunderstanding between me and the restaurant. I was told a few days prior that the dessert menu would be the same, but upon getting to Ayza we were given only a course menu. So we asked the manager if there would be a separate dessert menu, and he rudely told us no and that it was our fault for misunderstanding and for not answering a call (which I didn't even receive) rather than plainly explaining the situation. I thought he could've handled it more politely and professionally. He pretty much ruined the atmosphere of a perfect date night & an otherwise decent place.
We went to AYZA for Valentines Day, which was extremely busy and it felt like the meal was very rushed. We weren't even finished with our courses, when the staff brought out the next course. I realize that the place was busy and many people needed to be seated, but a romantic meal should not feel so rushed. In addition, the food was not great, so it felt over-priced in the end. I may return to give it another shot, but not the best first impression.
Server never came to serve. I had to actively look and ask for utensils, drinks, etc. it was difficult to find my server and it was not even that busy
It was a great place to go with my date. We had an awesome time from the appetizers, drinks to the main course. I will definitely be going back.
Love this place! The staff is always great and the food is fantastic. Only problem this time was a table full of young kids who were ridiculously loud, and 3 sets of parents who were even louder than their kids. Not the fault of the restaurant and I felt sorry for the waitress. I still wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ayza - one of my favorites.
Great, happy hour wine great deals weird they do a last call at 630 for happy hour though
The employees were a little rude
This is the restaurant where I proposed to my wife 3 years ago. She and I loved it: cozy and fun with great choices of drinks and chocolates. Our waitress was kind enough to give us some anniversary bubbly on the house. We'll definitely go back more often!
A fun place to eat and stay warm! What could be better than wine and chocolate??!! And the food's good too!
Hostess was great! Had made reservation for 5 but a 6th person ended up joining us at the last minute. She occomodated our group with a smile and a warm welcome.
Our server was equally professional and pleasant.
Food was delicious and importantly: Affordable for grad students on a workshop weekend! Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Amazing!! We decided just to get apps, a cheese board and of course dessert. It was the perfect decision. No clear winner between the apps, all were full of flavor. Service was great, very quick and efficient and friendly! We finished with an espresso martini and couldn’t be happier. Will 100% be back!
