The food was absolutely delicious. We had the truffle pizza and the Mediterranean salad with chicken and shrimp and devoured the whole thing. We had the waffle dessert and I had the strawberry chocolate martini which I truly enjoyed. The service was excellent all around. Definitely a date night kind of place. Will b back
Ayza was incredible!! The food was awesome!! The desserts were to die for!! We have the cheesecake and the pita with nutella with strawberries and bananas. Best dessert I have ever had! Would totally recommend this lovely establishment.
I've passed by Ayza quite a few times and always planned on checking it out until a friend of mine mentioned it. We went just as a casual get together. The service was friendly, food amazing..chocolate martinis yum..the chocolate w the martini was a nice touch as was the popcorn and shot of sangria. I will be back!
Ok the name worried me but we went for it as they did small plates to mix n match. We had overdone the eating earlier in the day so dint want a massive meal. The truffle pizza, sliders and chicken lollipops were great to share. Cocktails even better, great wine too. (Oops had a bottle between us) Wasn’t going to a pudding but could not resist the NY cheesecake fondue - yes chocolate - delicious. So the place did live up to its name!
This place seems hidden away on W 31st street, but it's surprisingly spacious and charming at the same time. The place is focused on drinks, so the food menu is limited but it's actually quite varied so I think everyone can find something tasty and well presented.
Lunch specials were a great value. Love the complimentary sangria.
The food was food but I thought the portion size was ridiculously small
This was not my first visit to Ayza, but it was definitely the worst. I made a reservation the day before but was seated at the worst outdoor table (along the side of the building next door). My guest and I noticed drops of water splashing onto our faces and food and, thinking it was raining, asked to be moved to a different table but the servers gave us an attitude and acted like we were being unreasonable. They said ‘it’s not raining, that’s just air conditioner coolant’ in a blasé tone, which is frankly ridiculous. After being moved, the servers did not bring our dishes from the other table, and we had to flag down a new server for help. If you’re aware that air conditioner coolant routinely drips onto your guests and their food, why would you keep a table under that area, much less save those tables for guests with reservations? And then give an attitude without showing any apology? While the food has always been fine, this level of service disgusts me, and I will definitely be telling others to stop coming to this restaurant.
This is truly a neighborhood gem! The owner, Zaf is MOST hospitable, and the General Manager, Angel - and our server, Jennifer - are absolutely wonderful! I will definitely frequent this fabulous restaurant! I am so happy to have it as a neighbor! The food was divine and the chocolate martini - was ooooohhhhh la la! We loved every minute of it! Thank you everyone for a wonderful evening - I will be returning and very soon!
I came here with some of my bridesmaids after dress shopping and it was perfect. App portions were great for sharing. Guac, hummus and bruschetta were delicious. Wine was great!
Excellent service all around and good happy hour wines too.
The service was very attentive and terrific. Food and drinks were good too!
It is a very cute restaurant and the food is great.
However the service could be better. I requested outside seating when I made the reservation but they were not able to accommodate my request. Also the waiter never checked in on us and we waited about 20 mins after eating to get a dessert menu.
Another thing that upset me is I received an email from open table saying " I never showed up " when I clearly did and the host even knew I had a reservation.
We were able to sit outside so that was nice, but it’s Manhattan so it was loud by nature. The staff was attentive and friendly. The guacamole and tortilla chips were good; fresh and tasty guac and crunchy chips!! I ordered the Rocket Salad with chicken which was big enough to eat twice. My friend ordered a salad as well and she enjoyed hers as well. The cucumber water was nice and refreshing. I’d return.
Great experience for a girlfriends lunch! We sat outdoors on a lovely day. The fixed price lunch is a good value, and everyone in our group of six loved their choices. We also enjoyed the sangria. For dessert we shared chocolate covered strawberries and some chocolate selections and we were all pleased. Highly recommend!
Indoor space is limited but they have a great outdoor patio space with space heathers. Food was great.
Made a reservation and was seated immediately. The server was excellent and at no point did we feel rushed. The server was also very knowledgeable regarding the menu. Noise level was so high it was difficult to have conversation and tables so close it was as if the people at the next table were part of our party. "Energetic" is not an adjective I would use; just plain too noisy for conversation. Food was good but nothing to write home about, with the exception of the raspberry Limoncello sorbet and the crème brulee cake. However, my co-diner thought the Lime Chicken Tacos were very good. The Coconut Tropical Pleasure truffle was billed as a center of coconut cream but it was very hard, though with a nice flavor. I was in NYC for work and will frequently be going forward but I will not be visiting again.
Chocolate drink were good. Food and service was garbage.
Ate out on the patio. Food and service was great. The chocolate martinis were delicious. Would definitely go back.
Date with my wife, we had a wonderful evening, great food, good wine, nice atmosphere.
Definitely coming back
Delightful evening with friends. Food was delicious. Loved the cheese boards and chocolate selections, too.
This is one of my favorite restaurants for girls night out. I can't count how many times we've been here. The Wild Mushroom Pita Tart is our absolute favorite.
Mother’s Day outing
I love this place, and if I lived in the area, would eat there weekly. My only complaint this go round was that the new hostess is a bit... robotic. Also, the noise level was unusually loud. I couldn't hear my husband during most of the meal. Happy anniversary to us. :( Also, it was raining, and while the tent offered great coverage, it was stuffy and warm and humid... and then I felt it... the tent had dripped water down my back. Oh, boy.
Overall, I adore the place. Wouldn't let that experience ever stop me from going back.
Lunch for Mother’s Day. Fabulous!
ayza is a very nice wine bar with good food. I only wish they would offer more different wines per glass, not just per bottle.
Went for Mother's Day and had a wonderful time. We had a reservation at 4 and came a little early so had to wait until the dinner service started which was fine. We were seated outside at there is limited indoor seating but the outside is covered and they have heat lamps so even though it was a slightly damp, cool day it was pleasant and cozy. Service was great. Food was quite good (Mediterranean) - was very fresh, light and not too heavy. Quite happy we chose this over the other chocolate bar in union sq. with their fried food menu etc.. The chocolate was great and the chocolate martini's were quite delicious! Overall we had a great time and the bill was reasonable for a group of 6. My mom couldn't have been happier and have already recommended it to friends and family! Def worth a try!
Had been here once before and had a superb time; this outting, however, I can not say the same. I think it can all be stated in "the staff" just was not as above and beyond as they had been on previous visits. I was very much looking forward to this evening, but after arrival and being handled in a very brusque "who cares" sort of way, I can honestly state that I will no longer recommend this venue to anyone. "Who cares" may be the order of the day, but as a patron, I shouldn't be made to feel it. Both myself and my date were made to feel that way.
It was great, the food was phenomenal and the waitress was perfect. She catered to our need. We actual will go back.
I walk right around the corner from this spot and knew I had to try it when I heard about the chocolate martinis! I tried the raspberry, while my boyfriend had the mint, both of which were amazing. We split a few appetizers, our favorites being the brie and honey croutons, as well as the artichoke dip. A great spot for a date or post-work drinks with friends!
We had the best meal and service! So much fun!
Arrived a tad late, but seated immediately...Friendly and courteous staff.
The drinks and food were excellent and I look forward to my next visit.
Great for girls night happy hours. They even have a special deal on Tuesdays for ladies (it includes chocolate!) Always have enjoyed meeting up with friends for drinks after work here. What's nice is that they don't rush you to order like some restaurants if you're chatting and news a few minutes to look at the menu. Nice wine selection.
Amazing cheese choices as well as martinis and desserts!!!!!
We only had appetizers and drinks...oh and desserts. It was delicious, service was very good, nice touch having cucumber infused water for the table. They had outside protected and heated area as well.
We were looking for a late night dessert option and gave Ayza a try. Great service and amazing desserts. The vibe was intimate and hopping at the same time. We will definitely be back.
At first we were seated in the inside, in the corner with the speakers blaring in our ears. We could not even hear ourselves say we did not want to sit there. We got moved to an outside seat, BUT the hostess was a bit rude. She said, "You will have to wait." It was just her tone; she was annoyed. So sorry that I did not want to have music blasting in my ears while I dine and celebrate my birthday. Anyway, the service for the rest of the meal would have been fine IF the busboy did not stand over us and literally jump the second he noticed that we took the last bite of something and grabbed our plate. One time I had to stop him, as I still had food on my plate. I told him to calm down and to look at my plate and to not grab. He then stepped back and watched me as I ate. He was very annoying. The food was good, not great. Our waitress was good, but the bus staff ruined the meal. They ran and ran by our table, and bumped my chair about 10 times, never apologizing.
It was awesome!
Not sure what all the hubbub is about with this restaurant. Maybe it’s the combination of wine and chocolate that lure people in. This was recommended by a bartender from another restaurant. The wine “bar” means one choice for each varietal, chocolate is good but the food was just mediocre.
Good tapas- nice wine list- very small but would be a lot of fun in warmer weather
