Our outstanding Turkish cuisine is delicious, fresh, and healthy. We serve lamb, beef, chicken and seafood. Aya Sofia offers a large variety of cold and hot meze (small plates) that are intended to be shared and will complement any of our entrees.
Afiyet Olsun (Enjoy your meal)!
Aya Sofia has a romantic luxurious atmosphere combined with excellent upscale service and warm Turkish hospitality.
Great place with great food. We have never had a bad meal here.
I love Aya Sophia. The food is amazingly delicious. There are loads of vegetarian and meat options. It is definitely worth the price. I am always happy after going there.
Our server was extremely attentive and we never had an empty glass! He was very helpful with describing items on the menu and making recommendations. We will be back!
Food was wonderful. Table was cleared a little too soon. I had to tell them to leave some of the things we were still eating.
We went with friends who had never been there. They loved it. The atmosphere was beautiful as always. Cocktails were good, but slow because the bar was busy. Food was excellent. Server very attentive.
Everything was excellent except there was a mild sour smell as though a dirty rag or mop was used
The $17 special lamb dumplings were cold (and very small)....
A fav of mine. Very intimate, perfect for a date night or special occassion. I love everything on the menu, I have been many times the drink menu is equally great
Ate here last Friday lunch. Aya Sofia is a wonderful restaurant for lunch or dinner. The food is always great and the service attentive. The decor of beautiful textiles (including pillows on the booth benches) makes any meal a special occasion.
first visit and loved it. Lunchtime was quiet and easy to talk.
A great dining experience from beginning to end. Exceptional dishes prepared with care. Beautiful exotic setting. Knowledgeable wait staff took care of us with finesse. We enjoyed appetizers, entrees and dessert..... all delicious. Nice selection of wine which we enjoyed!
Such a great atmosphere, lively and happy. The food was outstanding! We are excited to go back again.
Great food and service but the noise level was a little louder than expected
Outstanding food and top level service. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening. We’ll be back soon!
We’ve been here 4-5 times now and have never been disappointed. It’s kind of a funky little place, with curtained booths and a large creative menu. Portions are generous and I always have enough to bring home for another meal. It’s very close to Ted Drewes, as well, and that’s always a plus!
The food and service were excellent. Probably, the only negative was the level of noise that led to skip dessert.
I would probably book in a week day if I am thinking in a restaurant as a romantic venue to skip the weekend crowd.
Food and service is very good. Have been several times and have had many different things... all very, ver good. Their Sebzeli Musakka vegetarian dish is easily one of the best I've ever had! I've been vegetarian for over 40 years so that really saying something : )
Best restaurant in saint Louis
Valentine’s was lovely. We arrived early and started at the bar, waiting for our booth. The bartender was witty and friendly and set the tone for the whole evening—besides mixing us excellent cocktails! His chocolate martini was one of the best I’ve had—I will definitely be back for more of those! The food was truly excellent. It was a special menu for the evening and had delicious choices, along with their amazing desserts, like baklava. The booth made the evening feel very private and special, which was just what we were looking for on Valentine’s Day!
My wife and I dined at Aya Sofia on Valentines Day evening and this was our first visit to the restaurant. We found the food to be exceptional and enjoyed our visit very much. Two minor tweaks we would recommend... for the Valentines Day pre fixe menu, it seems like a desert selection should be included in the price so as to not be an add on at the end, which it was. That being said, the deserts were unique, delicious, and worth the cost. Our second, and only other slightly negative comment. It felt like the service was rushed a bit in that as each course came out, we hadn't finished the prior course as of yet. Thus the experience felt a little hurried and not quite as relaxing as we would have liked. As a result, we felt a bit over-stuffed when we left in being rushed along a touch in eating each course. All this being said, that is understandable on a big date-night evening. They gave my wife an absolutely beautiful, big rose when we left, thanked us sincerely for coming, and we do look forward to dining at Aya Sofia again as the food was truly exceptional and worth the drive in from St. Charles/investment. – Sincerely, Michael T., St. Charles, MO
Loved it as always! Thank you for another wonderful Valentine's/anniversary dinner.
The lamb was exquisite and so was dessert. The service was perfect.
The food was great! Authentic Turkish/Mediterranean food. The ambience was beautiful especially in one of the cozy booths. Highly recommended
Although we have had the pleasure of traveling to many countries, my wife and I never Sat down for a Turkish meal. Decided to surprise her for Valentine's with dinner here. Although it was a set menu, the chef did a great job...everything was delicious, including the wine selection. We will.definutely be back so we can try everything on their menu.
Amazing experience. Everything from the ambiance, the delicious food, and the amazing staff will definitely have me returning in the future!
This was another exceptional experience at this restaurant. This visit was a birthday celebration and the service, menu specials and overall professionalism deserve recognition Our server was personable and very knowledgeable about the special and wine options. Our entrees were executed exactly as ordered and exceptionally well. Bravo and thank you for another happy birthday. Teşekkür ederim!
Great place as been there a few times but on this night seating was very slow. We had 7:30 reservations made well in advance and it took 45 minutes to be seated. Seemed disorganized as also they were dealing with many walk-ins but they should have accommodated those with reservations first. But will return in the future to give another try.
Love the atmosphere and authentic menu. In our party of 4 - we each got a different entree - not a bad pick in the group - each meal was delicious, plentiful and completely satisfying. Will go again!
Nicely prepared food. Service was effective and efficient. Additions of several specials enhanced the menu.
When you eat here you feel like family. It's personal, with terrific service and wonderful food. I recommend the fresh whole fish of the day, but the lamb dishes and the comfort food dishes are wonderful, too. Explore the wine list and order something you can't get elsewhere. We were celebrating a special occasion, ran into an old friend and lost track of time. Just what you want in a night out.
Very nice restaurant. My wife and I went for our anniversary last year and were very impressed with the entire experience. The food is always great especially the lamb.
Food was good but not too much seasoning in the accompanying side dishes like the rice pilaf and broccoli. Proteins were well seasoned and delicious.
Becoming one of our favorite restaurants.
Gave gift cards to our grown children and recieved a gift card of our own.
The food was very good and a nice variety. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The spinach cheese pie was wonderful as was the baklava. The calamari was very good too.
Our server was excellent. We enjoyed all the food: Haydari appetizer (creamy yogurt dip with garlic, dill and pecans) ; skewers of nicely seasoned shrimp (Ssis Kebap) and a vegetarian entree of eggplant, zucchini, and potatoes bechame and tomato sauce (Sebzeli Musakka). Our only disappointmet was the house-made dessert drink.
We have been to Aya Sofia a few times and the food does not disappoint. A variety of food options and great portion sizes make this restaurant a true gem!
This was a pick for my diner club to try for authentic cuisine; the wine list was plentiful, the food was awesome and the atmosphere was great. It’s a quaint place not overly crowded, and a really great place to for mid size groups to enjoy; and the wait staff and owner were so nice and didn’t right out at even after the restaurant had closed.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone seeking really good Turkish cuisine!
The food was outstanding! Great place to share several dishes. All food was delicious but really enjoyed the tabuli and the lamb kabobs. Super friendly staff.
It was okay. It gets great reviews but this was disappointing. The front of restaurant service was great as was table service. I did not like the French Habibi which was my cocktail I ordered. Very tart, not enough simple syrup. A French 75 is my favorite drink so I know what a good one tastes like. The appetizer was good, a white bean type of salsa. The bread it was served with was odd. I guess I didn’t know exactly how to eat it. The Turkish salad was great. Very fresh and colorful. My chicken kabobs were dry and under seasoned. The fish special was good, the pearl couscous served with this was also under seasoned. It was just overall nothing special. I guess one should stick to the Mediterranean food that is on the menu. That seems to be what everyone finds to be good.
