    The biggest issue was that the chicken we ordered on the salads was dry and scorched. The bill was adjusted accordingly. I love Axel’s and will definitely go back!!

    TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Trisha S. was our server, excellent service from her. That’s pretty much all that was good. Seems Axels overbooked. When we arrived at 3:00 for our 3:00 reservation they had not begun to seat the 2:15 time slot. People were waiting everywhere. We did not get seated until after 4:00. We were seated at one of many tables that had clearly been added in anticipation of a crowd. The room was so packed full of extra tables there was no room to walk around most of them. The servers had to walk (run) through a predetermined pathway which meant they were putting in twice as many steps as they normally would. I had no utensils at my seat and when I asked for a fork from a passing employee, he responded that I’d have to ask my server and quickly turned and scurried away. As one of the servers was hurrying by our table, she grabbed my husband salad plate and nearly hit his head with the plate and the fork went flying. The room was very cold, I noticed many people eating in overcoats. We had to send a filet back as it was raw and cold inside, it was ordered as medium. This was our second time at Axels Thanksgiving dinner. Our experience was truly terrible. We won’t be back.

    The limited Thanksgiving menu made choices very easy. I had the filet - excellent! Two had the turkey meals and seemed to enjoy them. And one had the prime rib, also very good. The place was busy, but conversation was easy and service was good, considering how packed the place was.

    Very busy Friday night, we understand that. But, our waitress was MIA most of the night. We waited quite a while to order, to get our entree, to get our check. The food was very good, as always. Great prime rib and walleye. We always enjoy the awesome onion rings but, you can only get them until 6pm, during happy hour. ??

    We celebrated my husband's retirement here, we couldn't have been happier! The food, the service, ate atmosphere were just perfect! We live our of state, but come here a couple of times a year. Thank you for providing just the right everything! I recommend Axel's to everyone!

    Overall, it was good. Our initial server was lovely but was replaced with someone a bit on the cranky side. Despite the restaurant not appearing too busy, the food took an unusually long time but was hot and delicious when it arrived. I was disappointed the horseradish potato cake was very bland, I thought it would have some flavor. Next time, I'll go back to the risotto because it's always yummy. The prime rib was done perfectly, and so tasty!

    As a frequent diner, i have some expectations for a good dining experience. I made reservations well in advance, as we were celebrating a 75 th birthday and an anniversary. The table we were seated at was an afterthought at best. It was like they found an extra table and placed it in what seemed like the waiters station, where they were rolling silverware, placing dirty dishes, tray of desserts to hawk and a lovely view of the restrooms and the swinging doors into the kitchen. If we had arrived before our guests, we would have refused the table and waited, even though the restaurant was never full. Took forever to get our first drinks and even longer to get the popovers, even after being told just 4 more minutes. Just a really disappointing way to celebrate special occasions.

    Dinner at Axel’s is always à treat! The sirloin was delicious and the super club offerings are excellent! Roxanne was our server and didn’t miss a beat, making the experience so enjoyable. She was attentive, so personable and didn’t make us feel rushed. It was a busy Saturday evening and Roxanne delivered a memorable experience with a smile!
