First time in this location since it was Rouge Tomate, which was a standby for me. They did a beautiful job with the aesthetics, as well as sound-proofing. Service was excellent - they have a ton of staff working! Tuna tartare was excellent, as was the lavraki. My dining companions enjoyed their octopus and lamb chops as well. The lunch special is a ridiculously good deal for the area . . . no wonder the place was packed at lunchtime. We will definitely be back!
Our server Nick was the best! He is Greek and was telling us all about the dishes and how his family made them.
love the food here love the Greek wine! Yes !!
I live in the city its mo go to for the best of everything
Fabulous food, great atmosphere, attentive staff. Good for groups
The place is so nice the food is excellent the service too!!!!I simply love Avra!!!
They get it right in every way. Food is great, portions are big, you can share 2 appetizers for lunch. Wait staff is perfect. Bring joy n value to going out for lunch w my wife.
Great food and service special kudos to Erinc Unver- he always makes Avra great
Simply a wonderful lunch. The swordfish was perfect.
Excellent food !! Espetacular fresh Fish !!
Wonderful food and service! My favorite place!!!!
Had a great evening.
Avra was awesome!!! Can’t wait to go back
The cool city vibe is what I like about this restaurant. Drinks are very good. We ordered the appetizers which were sublime. This is one of my favorite places to eat when dining with large group of friends. The decor is lovely. A bit pricy but it’s worth the experience. So far it’s my third time and it will not be the last. The zucchini chips are very addictive.
We had a lovely evening with a group of friends. I rated the noise for the lower level, which is where we ate and which was much better for conversation than the noisier upstairs.
Food was great
My friend’s first time. He wants the olive cake recipe...
Ambiance was lovely
The food is outstanding, the service is A+, the vibe is busy and trendy, front of house staff is wonderful. But $1000 is waaaaaay too much for six people for dinner here— we shared chips, greek salad, and a dip trio first, then shared a fish (we each got a 4” x 4” piece), jumbo shrimp (we each got one, butterflied), and three tiny lamb chops total (rib, not loin). On the side was one quartered potato, roasted, a small dish of spinach, and a small dish of rice. Note that none of the apps or entrees were “upsized” for sharing. We shared two small desserts (a small cube of baklava and a slice of
Olive oil cake) and each had one cocktail plus a beer. You tell ME if you think $1k is expensive for that.
From the moment I walk in I'm home. It's my favorite restaurant. Prix Fixe lunch for $29.99 of that standard, in those surroundings? Impossible to find anywhere in NYC.
Top of line in every way- food super-fresh, delicious, great presentation. Waiter professional, informative, and friendly.Must go fir fish-lovers!!
Expensive but worth it!! One of my favorites in Manhattan.
Awesome as usual
Great Restaurant; Great Service; Great Ambiance...would definitely recommend!
We loo forward to visiting again soon. NYC needs more superlative fish restaurants in this area. Everything was delicious.
Everything was wonderful.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Great polipo and Greek salad. The fish was under cooked, but desert was complimentary. Downstairs sitting is OK, but not as hip as upstairs. Service was ok.
The dinner was delicious and the waiter couldn’t have been better. I forgot his name but he has been there since the beginning and he was just wonderful.
Avra is my favorite greek restaurant been to both the E60 off Madison and E48th off 3rd. Love both. 48th more rustic plus patio. E60 more space. E60s seems more expensive, touch pretentious, less crowded, better service.
Fabulous food,, service was terrible. Always looking for a waiter.
One of our faves. Authentic, Elegant, great wine, food & service.
Yearly new year dinner
Best food service and ambiance
This is the best restaurant in NYC. The food, the staff, THE ROOM! Gorgeous. Glynna is one of the nicest person and most cheerful people I have ever met. Every time I go I am amazed.
Indifferent service, noisy surroundings and mediocre food. Dirty dishes and left over food from a nearby large table were piled right near our table which was very unpleasant.
Food was fine (good) not special.
Poor value as I felt I paid for the ambience
Lovely Resturant great food
