Fabulous dinner. Halibut. Spinach. Rice. We then topped it off with a piece of the best Baklava ever. One scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. so delicious. Even though the restaurant was jumping, our waiter was on time and on point.

Nice restaurant but very crowded and noisy. Recommend going at off hours when not so crowded.

Made us wait 20 minutes for res. Food was mediocre. Greek tomato salad was fine. Fish was over cooked. And vegetables were mush.

The front of house staff need to be changed. I have absolutely no common sense and devoid of any courtesy

The hostess was unacceptably rude. The food was ok and the service, with the exception of the behavior of the hostess, was also fine. However the hostess was so unprofessional, she ruined the experience. Looking back, I should have left the restaurant right after my initial interaction with the hostess.

Everything we ordered was excellent. We shared the grilled oyster mushroom & traditional Greek salad. Both were delicious. I had the grilled Branzino which was tender & so moist, & my husband had the grilled Red Snapper. He said his fish was yummy, but I liked the Branzino better. I felt it was more flavorful. We sat at a table in the back of the restaurant which was fine, but not very private. Tables for two are very close to one another. Service was excellent and dinner was not rushed.

On Saturday we met our friends for dinner and had a marvelous dining experience. Excellent food and service. We shared a few appetizers all were delicious especially the grilled octopus, grilled shrimp and the zucchini & eggplant chips. We also shared all the main course entrees, it was better than having a tasting menu. Orso with mixed seafood, special of the day was linguine with lobster, grilled lamb chops, grilled vegetables and bronzino. Every dish was delicious, we also had great cocktails. Our waiter, Nicolas was fantastic. Restaurant has a nice lively ambiance. I highly recommend Avra, they have the freshest seafood and the lamb is like butter.

The food is awesome and we had a great time! Fresh fish, crispy bread , great apps, our waiter was spot on. We actually wish we didn’t have a Broadway play to go to .. I would have loved to slow down the dinner! Our fault not the restaurant.

I will go again for sure!

We decided to have all appetizers instead of an Entree. The Blue point oysters were large and melt in your mouth. Every bite of the Spanakopita was a burst of flavors. Saganaki, calamari and also the hummus were made to perfection. We had an awesome experience

My friends and I enjoyed our lunch at this lovely Greek restaurant. The price fixed 3 course lunch is a great value - portions are generous and there is a good selection. We each chose different options and each of us loved what we ordered. Servers are friendly and accommodating and brought our food promptly. I will definitely return.

Even though we had reservations ,there was a Long wait to be seated;and wasn’t given an accurate time on when we would be seated.

Delicious food

Nice restaurant with very decent service and food that was better than average but not outstanding or inspired. The city and surrounding areas are filled with high-quality Greek/Med fish restaurants many providing as good/better food & service but if you're feeling flush or on an expense account this place may not offend. The appetizers are priced as high as entrees and what they ask per lb for whole fish is a turn-off.

especially the food : the soup and crab cake were brought together i am not sure why ... the fish in the soup did not taste right ... i think i will never order that fish soup again ... i had it several times in the past

the veggies--Horta--: we ordered 2 orders of it ...only got 1 then requested a second one who tasted and looked really bad ... not the same veggies ... looked like they had assembled whatever veggie scraps the cook was able to gather and the dish was cold

Had to wait well past our reservation time. Tables are super close together and a conversation was nearly impossible. Server was good and food was very fresh and simple.

Excellent place to dine. Was recommended by a friend of mine and we were very impressed. It was an amazing place, fun, exceptional service, romantic, it has it all. Food was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend. Ambiance was so pleasant.

Oddly enough, everyone in our party ordered the same thing--grilled octopus and grilled tuna for our entrees. the grilled octopus was delicious and the tuna was cooked exactly as we requested--black and blue. it came with beets which i didn't want, but was able to change to sautéed spinach without a problem. Shared a couple of bottles of some very good Greek wine. Would definitely go back.

As always, the food and service at Avra are fabulous. This time we were seated in the middle dining room, which I much preferred to the larger back room which is noisier and brighter. The first seating area is the bar area, so middle is best for ambiance, especially for small groups. The seafood is always fresh and delicious and the service outstanding...with NYC prices to go along with it!

The food and service were excellent! The prices were a bit high but it was still worth it.

Despite having a reservation was placed in the Bar area and told it was the only table available. Noise and people standing around definitely detracted from meal.
