We celebrated our 15 year anniversary here tonight. My only real big problem with this place is the unorganized hostess crew... We had 9:00 reservations and they made us wait 45 minutes before seating us. When I checked they said it will be a few minutes. Their turn around time on tables that would leave was bad a set up table would be empty for 10/15 minutes at a time before they would go find the party that needed to be seated. I just checked my email and I received an email from open table saying that my reservation was canceled. Very bazaar!
It took us almost 2 hours for our main course to arrive.
The food was average.
Except for my son’s lamb. Of the 3 pieces. 1 was totally fat and the 2nd was 1/2 fat. He returned it to the waiter and we watched the waiter show it to the manager. It was not replaced. When we got the bill, it was on the bill. I called the manager over and he acted like this was the first he knew about it. I had to demand that he take it off the bill. As it was, dinner was just under 500 for 6 people. Only 3 drinks were ordered.
This was my 8th and last visit.
Celebrated a special bday!
Sandy, our server, was amazing. We had a wonderfully fun evening!
Love this place!
Lively and great people watching! Yummy food!! I have always had excellent service as well.
It is beautiful restaurant. It is very large. The ambiance and the food are amazing. The service is also great. I highly recommend it.
AMAZING & FABULOUS the food is clean and such great Quality !!!!
Amazing . Love this place
Fabulous! The best in Beverly Hills.
Excellent service, fresh fish. Our table of 6 enjoyed the 3 course menu with delicious Santorini wine. Will be back!
DINING AT AVRA WAS AMAZING, AMBIANCE WAS EPIC, DEFINATELY WILL BE BACK .... EVERYONE WAS WARM AND FRIENDLY :)
We LOVE AVRA! We go there almost twice a month! Great ambiance, wonderful service. ((especially if you get Nicole) outstanding drinks & great people watching! Food is really good too! You won’t leave disappointed !
It was a great experience. The food and service was excellent!
Third time there. This one very disappointing. Lackluster service. They told us they were out of oysters. Then when we ordered the ridiculously overpriced seafood tower, they told us that would include oysters. Shell fish was bland. Fish course was meh. So no with the $900 price tag. Will not be going back.
I treated some business associates and had a delightful evening. Service was fabulous from our greeter, to our waiter and his staff including the water guy. Food was fresh and tasty and we shared some branzino and tiger prawns. Ambience was perfect - energetic but definitely not loud. The indoor/outdoor vibe was spectacular. I look froward to taking my wife! Great time and thank you.
Beautiful ambience, super service. And great food!
The restaurant was new and smelled nice. We are happy to have a good dinner at this restaurant.
My wish would be to have more choices on your lunch specials!
Business meeting and it was perfect atmosphere
Everything was superb ...ambiance...food...service
Service sucks!! From the beginning of our arrival the receptionist forgot to check us in. Then we ordered our cocktails first which was forgotten to be brought out to our table and I had to remind the waitress 3 times and by the time it arrives at our table it was watered down due to the ice melting. They also brought in the wrong order!! Which made us wait for another 45 minutes for our food to be delivered. The food tasted good and the quality was fine but the service is horrible for the price you’re paying.
Our waiter was great!
Food was good but everything was overpriced.
My colleague ordered the special “cerviche” sea bass appetizer which came out as a salad for a surprising $37.00. I can’t recall ever ordering Cerviche and it ever was anything but sliced fish.
We were not told it was a salad and not informed of the price.
She also ordered the sea bass entre and much to our surprise it came out a three small pieces of fish on three little sticks!
Hard to believe that the waiter could think after I ordered the sea bass cerviche appetizers would bring another appetizer when we specifically said we wanted two entries one sea bass and one halibut. My halibut was fine just over cooked. And what was that “mash” that came with it?
The waiter did offer to re order the sea bass but by then the service was so slow Yes Friday night....we decided to just have some tea and backlava and head out.
Been often and very disappointed.
I have been to Avra dozens of times and generally I have been pleased with my dining experience, but this time it was different, and the difference was poor service. The food was expensive, but reasonably good. The ambiance noisy, but attractive. The service however was the worst that I have experienced. To maintain their popularity Avra management needs to do a far better job of selecting and training their waitstaff.
Loved it! The ambiance, the decor, the service, the amazing food.
Fun place, full of life. Very good food especially the beet salad. Attentive service. High prices (but it's in the heart of Beverly Hills).
Great restaurant, nice atmosphere, had a great time, as usual 👍
Avra is a beautiful restaurant and place to see and be seen. We went on a Saturday night and were given a table al fresco on the sidewalk on Beverly Drive where we had a great view of the all the Rolls and Bentleys pulling up. Perhaps that justifies the outrageous prices (fried eggplant and zucchini cost $26).
Our waiter, Paris, was great. He was helpful and very patient with my father (who can be somewhat demanding and impatient). He even snuck us two large tomatoes from the produce display in the middle of the restaurant. He told us that the fresh fish was cooked “just like on the islands”; my husband, who spends a lot of time on his father’s island in Greece has told me many times that they do not eat fish on the islands.
Our food was generally delicious—high quality, fresh ingredients impeccably prepared. However, some of the food was not very authentic. I have eaten taramasalata in many a Greek establishment and have never had it blended—it was yummy but I missed the snap of the intact roe. The tzatziki was bland—no flavor of cucumber, lemon or garlic. The rest of the Meze--htipiti and melitzanosalata, sardines, mussels in ouzo and saganaki (prepared 2 ways) were delicious. The aforementioned zucchini and eggplant chips were thin, crisp, delicate and lightly salted to perfection. The fresh dorado and grilled shrimp were yummy. The vegetarian moussaka was only fair. The fries (with lemon and oregano) were crisp and nearly perfect and the spanakorizo made a nice final addition to the meal. I’ve had better (and cheaper) galactoboureco—smoother semolina with better cinnamon and clove flavoring in the honey syrup. The baklava had crisp phyllo and great flavor, but the nuts were not chopped finely enough.
Overall, we had a great time with a terrific waiter and great visuals. But expect to pay way too much just so you can be in the middle of a Beverly Hills “scene”.
If you go, ask for Paris to be your waiter—you won’t be disappointed.
Not worth the price
La nourriture était excellente en général sauf le Fagri .. trop cuit et trop sec . Endroit très à la mode .Ambiance super .
Fantastic! My wife needed a pick me up and avra made it happen!
the food is excellent, i recommend this place also for lunch , the service is very professional , love the outdoor seating. very trendy spot. best fish in the beverly hills area
I had the prawns and my fiancé had the salmon. The food lacked seasoning. I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant however I would recommend the chef season the meat to enhance the flavor.
Service was absolutely abysmal. Ordered a seafood tower for four people and the waiter didn’t think to supply us with two vital things: seafood forks and spoons for the mignonettes. The waiter also forgot to put two orders of food in. And the martinis arrived to our table at room temperature.
Waiter did not understand my dates simple order.
She accepted the sea bass ceviche appetizer ( btw it was mostly salad $37!!) and she ordered sea bass entre which came out as three small piece of fish on a stick......turned out to be another appetizer. My halibut was good but over cooked and a side of mash? Not edible.
Maurice, our waiter, was so friendly and very helpful. The fries and the veggies are amazing!
