   Very dissatisfied with this restaurant. It used to be one of my favorites. Lighting was odd and felt like an airport. Wait staff was understaffed. Menus were dirty and stained. We ended up leaving after not being served any beverages for 20 mins.

   Loved this restaurant and was so disappointed in most recent experience. Waiter was in another world. Drinks ordered numerous times before receiving them. Took over an hour for appetizers to even come. Had to remind repeatedly to check on our meal. When it finally came, it was cold. Waiter got in argument with another waiter in front of us saying he was acting hostile. Another table of 8 got up and left after waiting a long time just for water. And there were only 3 tables there. On a Friday night. And it was more than half empty. Feel like they will be closing their doors soon. We will for sure not go back.

   Had to ask to get seated despite several waiters standing around. Dry small crowd for a Saturday night. Food was not near as good as previous visits. Had the feel of a restaurant going out of business.

   We intended to eat at Dram, the bar of Avo. Our problem was simply that we could not get seated. We were told that our table would be ready in 20 minutes. In an hour and 10 minutes we gave up and sat at the bar. There were tables where the patrons had finished their meals and for an extended period with no effort by management to provide our seating. We even considered the main dining room at Avo but the noise there was so loud no one could have possibly had a conversation over dinner. We were also told that Dram takes no reservations. We had called early in the day to see if we could make a reservation. However when we arrived an empty table was being held for a party that had been granted a reservation. That table was held for them for 15 minutes while we stood waiting. THis entire restaurant is very poorly managed

   Our esperience was very enjoyable. We chose to sit outside and watched the afternoon traffic. The afternoon temps were nice. We had the quacamole and homemade chips as appetizer which was so good. Should have brought some chips home. I had the filet, which was prepared to perfection, and my wife had the steak and biscuit. She bragged as did l about the tenderness of the meat. Overall is was a good dining experience. We made reservations but it didn’t appear that it was necessary.

   We had brunch for our Anniversary. We made reservations for Sunday Brunch, the restaurant was not crowded at all (it was about noon) and the hostess did not even open her reservation list. We were seated immediately. We sat outside and it was a very nice fall day, so the ambiance was most pleasant. The wait service leaned towards the mediocre. The menus were shopworn; they need to reprint the menus which were not complicated, just print on heavy stock paper. We asked for some simple items like butter for our grits which was acknowledged but never appeared. Overall, the staff seemed not to have enthusiasm for their jobs. Our drinks were so-so for a specialty bar, remembering these things are subjective, I would rate them OK. The food was good, not exceptional, but good. AVO has hands down the best grits in town, our experience is that they are consistent with the quality and presentation of their grits. Grits may not be your favorite staple. The eggs were served as ordered, but could have been a lot better. No butter for toast or biscuits, inattentive service on that. I think that this restaurant needs an infusion of enthusiasm. It could be so much better.

   The service was very slow. We left before our drinks even arrived. Only one waitress working that night. After 20 mins waiting for our drinks we left.

   The downstairs bar area has a much nicer atmosphere than the restaurant above. The bar has lots of reclaimed wood on the walls and ceiling and a brick wall. Upstairs in the restaurant it is very modern and somewhat sterile. Nonetheless, the food and service was very good.

    Very disappointing. I hope whatever is going on there with the transition gets fixed. Presentation was poor, food average at best. While the wait staff was good, his appearance was awful. His shirt was dirty and wrinkled. Unkempt is being nice. This is a premier location. Get it together.
