Very, very noisy. Service was much too fast - they had us finished with drinks appetizer and main course in 45 minutes. When we tried to sit and talk they asked us to pay but told us we could sit there longer if we wanted. No way is this an under $30 restaurant my entree was over $50. To top it all off there was a dog two tables away inside the restaurant (obviously they don’t care about health department rules). When I complained about the service and the dog the attitude was don’t let the door hit you when you leave. After leaving over $200 for two people I would have expected something more.
We went there for our date night and had a great time! They treated us so well. Highly recommend.
The service is amazing, the food is creative and plentiful, and the view is one of a kind.
Amazing see my yelp review
We had the best time! Chef Donald and the wait staff were absolutely wonderful. It was the best dinner we ever had. Thank you for the amazing experience.
Way over priced, terrible food. Service very good, beautiful hotel. The hotel deserves better.
The food at Aveo is excellent! Sadly, the restaurant, which has a stunning view of the Pacific, was empty. Even the outside patio was sparse with diners. With so many great restaurants in the vicinity with a lot more energy, I'd skip Aveo and find something else.
Nice place to eat. We went to try the amazing dessets and we were not disappointed. Nice flavors and amazing presentation. We will go hack esrlier to enjoy the sunset
Absolutely loved our evening and dinner at AVEO! Fantastic ambiance, great food and lovely dining for our entire group.
Was vert unhappy that Aveo charged $45 for corkage fee.
Beyond fabulous! Food was amazing. It was a perfect night in so many ways. Thank you Nick our server and Donald our chef for making our birthdays special.
We were a party of four, sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere on a beautiful sunny day. Our server, Kelly, was attentive and friendly. She recited the specials and knew the wines perfectly. Great service!
I had the turkey melt...yum! Everyone at the table was very happy with the food and service. I will definitely be back with friends!
The food was excellent. Great sauces on the meats..the lamb was the best Ive ever had! Not gamey at all
Can't beat the view! Some of the food felt generic, like the waffles, French toast, and scrambled eggs. It was similar to Vegas-quality buffet, if you know what I mean. But they had some nice choices like eggs Benedict, make your own breakfast toast, selection of juices and milks, and of course, Cinnamon Toast Crunch!
Our bartender, Michael, is not only very knowledgeable in his craft but he is a pleasure and personable as a server. Michael as well as all of the staff is why my wife and I often dine at Aveo.
It was awesome. Definitely would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area
Aveo, looked nice online and we were really looking forward to trying it out. However, from the moment we walked in we were let down. The first we saw as we walked into the lobby was sign on an easel mentioning a mediterranean buffet. We were hoping to have a nice, intimate dinner. As were were being led to out table, we discussed aborting the mission and going somewhere else, but we decided to stick it out.
It was 10 minutes before we saw our server. We ordered a couple glasses of wine and a 1/2 dozen of the Westcoast oysters. The oysters arrive and we both grab one and suck it down. We both look up at the same time with disappointment in our faces. The oysters didn’t taste right. I asked our sever where the oysters were from and he had to check with the chef. He comes back and informs us that Westcoast oysters we ordered were from New Jersey! This would have been nice to know. The server didn’t offer an apology or anything. It was more of an oh well attitude.
On to the main course. I ordered Moroccan Lambchops and baby carrots, my gf opted for the 6 oz filet Pittsburg style. We didn’t see our server again until after our food was delivered. When our food arrived by another server, we tried to get him to clear our bread plates and forks. He took my plate, but was leaving the salad fork that clearly showed use. I actually had to say, can you take the fork, too. My gf asked as well, but he seemed annoyed and just walked away.
Her filet was cooked nicely, but she said it wasn’t great. My lamchops were okay, but nothing to write home about. Overall impression, okay food that is overpriced. Ambiance was terrible. Children running around and screaming through our whole meal. When it finally calmed down, we were over it and asked for the check. We took the courtesy shuttle over to The Ritz Carlton and shared their Warm Chocolate cake dessert. It was delicious!
We came in for the brunch with as noted on the website started at 11:30 am. We could not be seated till 12pm and then waited around for the staff to set up, by the time they opened the brunch it was after 12:30. Having to sit around and wait was disappointing. The quality of the food was great, albeit pricey. And the staff was outstanding, very attentive and polite. Overall very nice, but for the price, we expected a more seamless experience.
Slow, good burger and omelette but the worst chicken and woffels ever. Chicken looked like a boiled piece of leather with most of the breading falling off in the dish. Tastes like rubber; really terrible.
The food was very bland and over priced
Instead of dining in the dining room, we sat at the bar, and Michael gave exceptional service. He’s one of the most professional bartenders we’ve encountered.
I had the most wonderful birthday at Aveo, thanks to Marie and our waiter Matthew. Their youthful energy and impeccable service made my evening a very special night to remember. Thank you!!
The bartender made exceptional handcrafted cocktails & was very entertaining! With our party of 4 there was 1 Vegetarian & 1 Gluten free & the menu was very accommodating for both parties and every dish ordered including the appetizers was fresh & delicious! The sunset was beautiful & a bonus!
The place is excellent, very nice decorated and the outdoor seating is amazing. It is located in the Monarch Beach Resort so quality is guaranteed. Service not very good and food so so. Nothing special at all. The place makes it all.
You lost a STAR due to the fact that your hostess, for the third time, cancelled our OpenTable reservation, even though we checked in and informed her that we would be dining at the bar.
Good service, but a few mistakes on our order. They most-definitely made up for the mistakes. A little noisy, but an unbeatable view and incredibly good food!
Michael a true pro
Great place for all ages and occasions
We were staying at the Resort and had a birthday dinner there. The food was quite good but considering the restaurant was not crowded, the service was very slow. We had to ask for the wine list and then had to ask for the wine we ordered when the entrées came because it had not been brought yet. We had to ask for water, bread, etc. After the entree was served, the server did not check on us. We refilled our wine glasses ourselves. Had to even wait for the check and due to the size of our party (6), 20% was added as a gratuity. Generally, when a restaurant does that, the server points it out. If a restaurant has this policy, their servers should advise the patron and they should deliver the level of service warranting a mandatory 20% tip. Our meal was several hundred dollars and no matter how good the food is, if the service is lacking, it is detrimental to the experience. We have dined here many times before and stay at the Resort frequently, so this review is just for this one meal.
Excellent service by Matthew - really good salad, entree & dessert - exquisite ocean view...
we will definitely return -
we were there early (6pm) - service was great -it was very busy when we left at 7:30
Great food! Beautiful place! They still need to work on service though. Service is hit and miss. Some days we get outstanding service and other days almost nonexistent service. Training still seems to be an issue also. They staff the hotel or least the restaurant with Hotel management trainees from other countries. Which is great. However they never stay around long enough to really learn the job before they move on. And when they get here they know they’re only here for six months or so. That will have to change if they want to deliver superior service.
It is a lovely place. Ha e been there before. Yesterday it took 30 minutes to get a Bloody Mary and the overall service was sooo slllooowww. They accommodated a special drink request so they were nice enough. But then once we gave the valet ticket for the car we waited over 40 minutes -lady in a wheelchair on battery oxygen. Perhaps not a typical day!
We were surprised the amazing buffet was not available without warning but the food was great as well as the service. Beautiful location.
The restaurant definitely Needs a make over ... it is very dated !! No atmosphere
We were planning on having brunch, but arrived a bit early and chose to do breakfast instead. The view is AMAZING. All of the Monarch Beach Resort is very well designed and beautiful, and Aveo is no exception. It was so wonderful to have delicious coffee and eggs benny while looking over the ocean. I would definitely return.
We love dining at AVEO because the food is consistently great, staff is super nice & accommodating, fun bar. Like outdoor dining. Took a couple with us for their first time & they raced about it too. Can’t wait for summer to enjoy again.
The service was wonderful, from the greeting by the valet to our hostess offering us a lovely patio table, to our server who answered all of our questions about menu choices. We enjoyed our food and the view. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Of course it was not inexpensive, but it was very enjoyable.
We chose to eat inside because it was chilly but the view was just as good. Attentive service, fish done just right.
Your restaurant is nice and the selection of food is also good. However, the food is too salty. Your restaurant and hotel are expensive. I would suspect those can afford this will be older and may have health problems that require limited intake of salt. Your food is loaded with salt. I suspect that my salmon was soaked in brine. I can't recommend that. If a chef needs salt to taste good, he/she is not s superior chef.
