The Valentine’s experience was frustrating. The ambient has no special decorations and the 5-course $90 menu was really weak. It took us more than 15 minutes to get our drinks and more than 30 minutes to receive the second course when we didn’t even receive the first one. The first three courses were just salads, including cold asparagus that were terrible and my husband hated. The lamb chops were tasty but very very greasy. Thankfully the desert was ok, but nothing that justifies a $200 dinner. Our server was very unexperienced as it was very very disappointing. We live closely and were thinking of becoming member of the club, but this experience was laughable and sadly we are probably not coming back to Aveo again.
VDAY it was amazing!
Avocado toast is the best I have ever had!
Loved everything! Our friends new in town loved the experience.
Matt was awesome, very attentive and soooooooo good with our little ones.
This restaurant was TERRIBLE! The manager couldn't fix the bad service, the wrong food order, and the painfully bad service last night. You only get one chance to make a good first impression so get it right the first time. Don't offer to make it up the next time, because there won't be a next time. They didn't get the steak right temp or without sauce (you know who we are). We had to serve ourselves the water we bought at sky high prices. We had to ask for a steak knife (really when you order steak don't you just bring the steak knife?). The lobster gnocchi was EH so so with no flavor. The servers were rushing around and obviously so inexperienced at waiting tables......the breeze from their speed of running.
They couldn't get the bill right either. I could go on.
We celebrated NYE here. The food and atmophre and service were excellent. We plan on returning and trying the patio seating in the summer.
Wonderful food and view. Excellent service. Pricey but worth the drive or special occasion.
I have loved this restaurant for a holiday meal. This year they had prefixed menu with few choices. Fortunately, the waiter helped me with an option, but if prefixed, I will chose a different restaurant.
The food and service were great. My Atkins Diet was easily accommodated. Lots of good meat at the carving table and shellfish. Gotta try it for a Sunday brunch someday. We took a nice stroll around the beautiful grounds.
Amazing service and food!!!!
Here at Open Table AVEO positions itself as fine dining, and if that's the case, Management needs to sort out seating and where to put families who must watch Barney on high volume during dinner. The restaurant was virtually empty, so why not take advantage of the cavernous space to put well, space, between guests? Dinner for 3 adults and 1 child came to $375.00 (and we drank no alcohol) which wouldn't be a problem if you have ambience, but it was like dinner at Denny's. I'd waited months to see my college age son and tonight was his 20th birthday and we left the Monarch Beach, frazzled, and grateful to escape. Our actual servers were lovely and food was good but the space itself is a disappointment. I know they've remodeled the restaurant in the past few years but its even colder now and more uninspiring.
Beautiful property. Nicky decorates for the holidays. Limited brunch menu. The outside was too cold so we opted to sit indoors..... however no clean table
Was available. They had a large holiday party in the back room so they only had the front and the bar section . available for ya to sit. Since we drove an hour ANCA half to get there we really wanted to get settled and enjoy our afternoon. Management wax poor no one really helped out the bar tender on this busy holiday weekend which the hotel sealed to gd booked. So we sat at the high top table 6 of us at the bar. There were many hotel guests who ate at the restaurant as well as the bar section because it was chilly outside no heaters were available being a hotel near the coast. Wow what a surprise. Then the quality of the beef was so mediocre we sent burg orders back then the executive chef himself prepared it and was finally edible. The seafood tower was very good. Didn’t even have any dessert to celebrate for the 2 birthdays we were there to celebrate. It was in our reservations. Need better management. Not enough staff to run the Restsurant. Our table had all the dirty plates sit as servers walked by. We had to get their attention to clear each course. Then there was one server with very bad body Ofer. Please hotel staff must be clean.... hello it’s bad for business. I wouldn’t regiment this hotel joe thus restaurant to anyone. It’s just mediocre. As if we drive all that way for ok not great experience. Thank goodness our company was good a bunch of old friends celebrating the holidays as well as 2 ladies birthdays it’s our ritual this time of year.
We had an exceptional time celebrating an 88th birthday. Staff was excellent and the overall experience fantastic!
We went to AVEO for a Green Card celebration and they did not disappoint. Monarch Beach is absolutely beautiful but not stuffy. The staff, food and drinks at AVEO were all amazing!!
The waiter didn't tell my guest all the options for food. The table was right in the path of the door opening and closing to the outside and it was cold from that wind.
My swordfish and cappuccino were delicious and we appreciated the complimentary macaroons.
Very, very noisy. Service was much too fast - they had us finished with drinks appetizer and main course in 45 minutes. When we tried to sit and talk they asked us to pay but told us we could sit there longer if we wanted. No way is this an under $30 restaurant my entree was over $50. To top it all off there was a dog two tables away inside the restaurant (obviously they don’t care about health department rules). When I complained about the service and the dog the attitude was don’t let the door hit you when you leave. After leaving over $200 for two people I would have expected something more.
We went there for our date night and had a great time! They treated us so well. Highly recommend.
The service is amazing, the food is creative and plentiful, and the view is one of a kind.
Amazing see my yelp review
Impeccable service, one of the best ever.
I had an engagement brunch with my fiancé at the property, and the outdoor seating was amazing. The views are fantastic and food was delicious! It was a treat!
We had the best time! Chef Donald and the wait staff were absolutely wonderful. It was the best dinner we ever had. Thank you for the amazing experience.
Way over priced, terrible food. Service very good, beautiful hotel. The hotel deserves better.
The food at Aveo is excellent! Sadly, the restaurant, which has a stunning view of the Pacific, was empty. Even the outside patio was sparse with diners. With so many great restaurants in the vicinity with a lot more energy, I'd skip Aveo and find something else.
Nice place to eat. We went to try the amazing dessets and we were not disappointed. Nice flavors and amazing presentation. We will go hack esrlier to enjoy the sunset
Absolutely loved our evening and dinner at AVEO! Fantastic ambiance, great food and lovely dining for our entire group.
Was vert unhappy that Aveo charged $45 for corkage fee.
Beyond fabulous! Food was amazing. It was a perfect night in so many ways. Thank you Nick our server and Donald our chef for making our birthdays special.
We were a party of four, sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere on a beautiful sunny day. Our server, Kelly, was attentive and friendly. She recited the specials and knew the wines perfectly. Great service!
I had the turkey melt...yum! Everyone at the table was very happy with the food and service. I will definitely be back with friends!
The food was excellent. Great sauces on the meats..the lamb was the best Ive ever had! Not gamey at all
Can't beat the view! Some of the food felt generic, like the waffles, French toast, and scrambled eggs. It was similar to Vegas-quality buffet, if you know what I mean. But they had some nice choices like eggs Benedict, make your own breakfast toast, selection of juices and milks, and of course, Cinnamon Toast Crunch!
Our bartender, Michael, is not only very knowledgeable in his craft but he is a pleasure and personable as a server. Michael as well as all of the staff is why my wife and I often dine at Aveo.
It was awesome. Definitely would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area
Aveo, looked nice online and we were really looking forward to trying it out. However, from the moment we walked in we were let down. The first we saw as we walked into the lobby was sign on an easel mentioning a mediterranean buffet. We were hoping to have a nice, intimate dinner. As were were being led to out table, we discussed aborting the mission and going somewhere else, but we decided to stick it out.
It was 10 minutes before we saw our server. We ordered a couple glasses of wine and a 1/2 dozen of the Westcoast oysters. The oysters arrive and we both grab one and suck it down. We both look up at the same time with disappointment in our faces. The oysters didn’t taste right. I asked our sever where the oysters were from and he had to check with the chef. He comes back and informs us that Westcoast oysters we ordered were from New Jersey! This would have been nice to know. The server didn’t offer an apology or anything. It was more of an oh well attitude.
On to the main course. I ordered Moroccan Lambchops and baby carrots, my gf opted for the 6 oz filet Pittsburg style. We didn’t see our server again until after our food was delivered. When our food arrived by another server, we tried to get him to clear our bread plates and forks. He took my plate, but was leaving the salad fork that clearly showed use. I actually had to say, can you take the fork, too. My gf asked as well, but he seemed annoyed and just walked away.
Her filet was cooked nicely, but she said it wasn’t great. My lamchops were okay, but nothing to write home about. Overall impression, okay food that is overpriced. Ambiance was terrible. Children running around and screaming through our whole meal. When it finally calmed down, we were over it and asked for the check. We took the courtesy shuttle over to The Ritz Carlton and shared their Warm Chocolate cake dessert. It was delicious!
We came in for the brunch with as noted on the website started at 11:30 am. We could not be seated till 12pm and then waited around for the staff to set up, by the time they opened the brunch it was after 12:30. Having to sit around and wait was disappointing. The quality of the food was great, albeit pricey. And the staff was outstanding, very attentive and polite. Overall very nice, but for the price, we expected a more seamless experience.
Lunch with family at this indoor/outdoor restaurant at Monarch Beach Resort. The view is spectacular, even if you’re seated inside (we were). Food is sumptuous and beautifully presented. This is definitely a playground for the rich but everyone can expect to be treated like a cherished guest here.
Slow, good burger and omelette but the worst chicken and woffels ever. Chicken looked like a boiled piece of leather with most of the breading falling off in the dish. Tastes like rubber; really terrible.
The food was very bland and over priced
Instead of dining in the dining room, we sat at the bar, and Michael gave exceptional service. He’s one of the most professional bartenders we’ve encountered.
I had the most wonderful birthday at Aveo, thanks to Marie and our waiter Matthew. Their youthful energy and impeccable service made my evening a very special night to remember. Thank you!!
