Discovering the experience of dining in a place such as Cannes or Nice was never easier than now with the opening of the French Bistro and Raw Bar, Avenue. The only difference between dining at Avenue and dining along the Côte d'Azur, is that your gaze lands on waves on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. Avenue is located along our side of the pond, on our own eastern shores in Long Branch, New Jersey. This gleaming new restaurant is designed by the internationally renowned architect David Collins, and the collaboration is nothing short of amazing.

Dinner was spectacular! The oysters were fabulous, the Beef bourguignon scrumptious, and the profiteroles to die for!

The table nearest to us were a bit boisterous, but we really enjoyed our dinner. Thanks again!

We had a wonderful experience at Avenue. Our waitress and her bartender/assistant were attentive without being intrusive. The vaulted ceilings and ocean veiw gave the space a Michelin starred restaurant feel. Only things preventing a 5 star review are.. wife's medwell burger was just past medrare, decanter was not properly cleaned or dryed, staff should not have stains or tears in uniform in such a beautiful restaurant.

We really loved the setting, but the maître d' could have been much warm and friendly. Plus, the kitchen took so long to bring out our food (over 1 hour for a burger, mussels, a grilled cheese, and scallops) that we ended up getting it to go. It's a beautiful setting, but we'll try again next year when it's warmer.

The service was terrible we felt like we weren’t noticed at all. Had to ask to have dirty plates removed. Asked for another drink they never brought it. Dinner took way to long and the food wasn’t that great. Very disappointed.

We love going to the Avenue the food is always very good. But this time the service was extremely slow...and we ordered the steak for two medium rare and even though it was very tasty the temperature of the steak was medium at best! Very disappointed. Yes the gave us 1 fee desert. I would rather had a medium rare Steak! Especially for the high cost!

I love Avenue. It used to be my favorite restaurant. Tonight it was a disaster. It is carefully noted that you must arrive within 15 minutes of your reservation. We did. It was also noted that our reservation was for 1 and 1/2 hours. We didn’t get served dinner until an hour and a half after we arrived. The food was excellent. Party of four-we all enjoyed our meals very much. The biggest disagreeable problem was the noise level. I have an APP on my phone that measures noise in decibels (for my job). Avenue was 80-90 decibels. The music was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation. We asked our server to speak to the manager who apparently decided to ignore us. It made the evening very unpleasant. My ears are still ringing four hours later. If you like extremely loud places, Avenue is for you.

We went for a birthday and they didn’t bring anything to celebrate her and there was only one person waiting on the entire porch. She did a good job and getting to everyone but I just wanted my friend to feel special.

Very overpriced for what was offered on menu. Eggs, burger, turkey sandwich etc. Fries $10.00! Lobster roll $34.00!!! Food was just ok, not worth the price. Public parking was full, parking in the nearby lot was $25.00 for the day, no hourly rate. Mater dei would not validate parking ticket as they have done in the past. $25.00 for 1 1/2 hours, ridiculous!!!

Went for brunch to celebrate a friends birthday. Menu is a bit pricey but brunch selection was fairly priced. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Outdoor seating with ocean view was outstanding, and wait staff was exceptional!!

I understand times are tough but they have nothing on the menu. This is one of my favorite spots in long branch but when you ask to add chicken to a salad and they say they can’t, that’s an issue. I’ve never heard that before. Especially at a restaurant that charges a crazy amount for a basic salad.

The host was a complete jerk. He was super rude and nasty. The music was blasting. Couldn't even hear yourself think. The food was still really good. The only reason I may go back one day. That hostess heeds to work on his manors.

Wonderful dinner - highly recommend the Cote de Boeuf! Staff was friendly and attentive. Had a beautiful anniversary dinner outside with the perfect view of the harvest moon. Lovely!

We opted to sit outside. We were placed in the back, by the water. Beautiful view; but it got cold very quickly and there really needs to be some outdoor heating. The lag time between our order being taken and food served was slow. The same between courses. The salmon was mediocre and the halibut was the same. We had to go find the waiter to get our check. We were freezing and just wanted to leave. Nothing about the experience made me want to come back. Very disappointing, because I've had very nice meals here before.

Very good procedures put in place for safe dining during Covid.

We sat outside and it was great. Our server was EXCELLENT.

The food was good not great and the value was questionable - a scallop dish; $38 for 4 scallops is a bit much for the taste. It was a disappointment for a place I really like.

I am quite accustomed to paying even more $ for a dish but I usually am quite happy with the price/value.

We love Avenue but have not been there since March. It is very busy in the summer and we prefer to support them in the slow season.
We sat outside, which let to very slow service. My wife's onion soup (usually always outstanding) was mostly a bread soup. I cannot recall that we ever needed to send anything back to the kitchen at Avenue. The rest of the food was excellent (Trout) to good. I understand that all of us are challenged these days but prices have increased at Avenue by 20 % while quality went down. Not a good mix in times like these.

We dined there this past Sunday. We sat inside facing the ocean. I tried moving my chair to the end of the table so I could sit more comfortably next to my wife. I was told
that I could not move the chair due to Covid protocols. I would have ben more that 6 feet away from the next table in which no one was seated.

This made absolutely no sense since there was a wedding shower taking place in the front portion of the restaurant where people were sitting next to one another without masks!

Mehdi was an excellent server and was attentive to my mother and I during a special brunch. We have been going to Avenue for years and are rarely disappointed. Hopefully we will be able to dine during the winter months.

We have been there multiple times but, if this was our first visit, we might not return. We waited 10 minutes before flagging someone down to ask for waitstaff. Drinks were slow, the muscles(moules) were lukewarm although the fries(frites) were hot. Second drink arrived halfway through dinner. Water was not refilled despite obvious empty bottle placed at edge of table. Couldn't get anyones attention to tell. Get your restaurant in order!!

The setting - outside next to the ocean - can't be beat. The food was wonderful and the service was great. The waiter was very helpful in helping us choose both food and drinks. We were able to have a leisurely meal, not waiting too long for our food but not feeling rushed either.
We shared the paella for two and still had some left for lunch the following day. It was chock full of seafood and delightfully garlicky.
Our dinner companions had lobster roll and beef bourguignon, both of which they declared excellent.
It's a bit on the pricey side but well worth it for both the meal and the experience.

I was expecting an upscale dining experience, but the poor service and loud rock music made it more like an overpriced rock club. Waitress does not know the difference between cream and milk. I ordered coffee with cream which arrived lukewarm with milk. I again asked for cram and received milk. Finally a second waiter brought hot coffee and a container with cream.

This went from our favorite restaurant in NJ to NEVER AGAIN! After waiting 45 minutes we were served spoiled shrimp cocktail, No bread no nothing. We told the waiter to bring us our check we were leaving. Mind you this was for our 28th Wedding Anniversary. Spoke to the manager who refused to give us his name. He was rude arrogant and dismissive. NO ONE had the courtesy to apologized to us. Manager said so what you waited 45 minutes and no bread, so what. I wish I was his boss I would show him so what. I have worked in service industries my entire life. I WOULD NEVER treat anyone so poorly. Needless to say we are now searching for a new go to restaurant.
