Discovering the experience of dining in a place such as Cannes or Nice was never easier than now with the opening of the French Bistro and Raw Bar, Avenue. The only difference between dining at Avenue and dining along the Côte d'Azur, is that your gaze lands on waves on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. Avenue is located along our side of the pond, on our own eastern shores in Long Branch, New Jersey. This gleaming new restaurant is designed by the internationally renowned architect David Collins, and the collaboration is nothing short of amazing.

    Drinks at the bar for Happy Hour followed by a delightful and delicious birthday dinner. The escargot was yummy and trout almondine is consistently cooked to perfection. The moules frites were a big hit. Our server, Arturo, was attentive without being intrusive. We had a table near the fireplace and dessert was presented with a brightly lit candle- the perfect finishing touch to a wonderful evening.

    Service was unusually slow. The staff seemed overwhelmed which is unlike their usual service. Would suggest more staff during Restaurant week. The remainder of our experience and food were excellent as always

    I brought my family to enjoy the price fix for restaurant week. We had a good table with a nice view. I ordered the risotto and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was spotty but no big deal. Those who ordered the steak enjoyed it. My pet peeve is being served dessert before the coffee which happened.

    Went there for the Sunday brunch with friends. The food was really good. There was a varied menu for both breakfast and lunch. Everyone had a good time as the service and ambiance were both fantastic. Will definitely be coming back.

    Beautiful place. We decided to do the price fix. Appetizer choice were snails, raw steak or beets. Would have preferred a choice of soup or regular salad. Entree choices were wonderful. And dessert choices delicious. Service was great. Bathrooms however need to be cleaned. Rusty soap dispenser and not clean.

    Halloween with kids for pumpkin painting event combined with a rare great price fix menu made this meal superb! Usual menu items from Avenue are near always perfect, the kitchen professional in so many ways. The chef continues to excel and surprise with one great recipe after another. The Maitre De also taking care of customers with class and etiquette. Have eaten here over 100 times and one of the best dishes so far, Short Rib Hash. Menu changes all the time with new offerings. Wonderful ocean location and ambience. Fireplace and live music a plus!

    My entre was tasty, but it needed sauce like it was described on the menu.  my profiteroles were unusual, and not what I expected. They had ice cream in place of where the custard would be.  the service was below average. The place was empty, so you would think we would get good service, but we did not.  the waiter was not attentive at all. He never came back to check and see how our meals were, among other things.  in the end it was $100 each, which was way too much in my opinion for the quality of food and the service.

    The lobster rolls was mostly shrimp and there was very little of that. Not very good.

    I've been going to Avenue since it opened and always had a great experience. This time, not so much. It was a "Live Jazz" Sunday brunch, but the acoustics are not great for live music. It was very loud-you had to shout across the table. The menu was lacking enough selections. No eggs benedict unless you ordered the prix fix. It was disappointing.

    Our first time at Avenue. We went because we love the musicians. The setting is beautiful, the food was pretty good and a reasonable value. The service was terrible and we don’t think it was the server’s fault; we saw similar problems at other tables with other servers.

    The staff was excellent. We were celebrating my husband‘s 80th birthday and they couldn’t have been nicer. The food and the drinks were absolutely out of this world. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

    Service was slow but it was Labor Day weekend and my guess is that they had a lot of staff returning to college. We ate outside and it was delightful. Inside was noisy.

    Food was good for the price but the service was horrendous. Waiter was clearly in the weeds the entire time, more so an Avenue problem if you ask me. Our table was amazing and the person who sat us did go the extra mile to ensure we had a romantic view of the ocean so kudos for that! Bathrooms were a mess and half were ‘out of service.’ Probably wouldn’t go back, simply because there’s so many other restaurants options in the area where the overall experience is better.

    The cocktail menu was delicious. My party of 4 enjoy the drinks, their bartender is outstanding. The waitress was attentive and made the experience good. The food was good and no complaints about the food. I will complain that the value in what you are getting was not good. It is way overpriced and the men left still hungry. Small plates with a big price.

    disappointed to have bland food and mediocre service. It wasnt our waiters fault - he had a full restaurant. But the food was really disappointing.

    Disappointed. Service left much to be desired starting with waiting 15 minutes for a menu, to receiving a lipstick stained wine glass to sub standard food. Also the menu listed on open table is not updated as there were no daily special nor did they have the surf & turf as noted on the menu. The restaurant was not busy, so there is really no excuse for the poor service/ lack of attention from the server.
