Great service and great food
Great Location, beautiful views. Drinks and Food was good but service could have been better, especially since restaurant was not too busy.
The food was very good, the atmosphere was great, value was pretty good and service was also good.
Attentive staff. Excellent menu. Ambience is most enjoyable. Outstanding !!
I've been coming here for 10+ years and I honestly can say I've never had a bad experience or an issue with my meal. Everything is always delicious...Espresso Martinis are an absolute MUST.
Food, cocktails, wine and service are outstanding. We are coming back since 3 years and it is always a pleasure - sommer or winter. One of our favorite restaurants in NJ.
My first time was not a disappointment- delicious but a little tough steak frites. Fabulous profiteroles and the house Bordeaux was wonderful. Will be back.
Food was excellent. Service was a notch short of the usual, possibly because it was Valentine’s Day (though not an excuse.) The entree was served, but no utensils had been provided. The staffer had to scurry and get them while we waited. Dessert arrived and no one ever asked if we wanted coffee, etc. By then, we decided not to bother.
We enjoyed the Valentines prefix menu. The open table sight showed that the full menu was being offered, so unfortunately I didn’t get the Paella they offered on that menu, next time.
I have given this restaurant 3 tries , food was mediocre at best, especially for the price . I’ll never waste my money again !!
Valentine's Day afternoon -- made a last minute reservation -- first time visitors. Table right by the window -- beautiful view and fireplace raging. . . Wonderful cocktail with gin (a new favorite of mine) and kiwi. I loved every sip. There were only four draft beers, but a good selection with the four. My husband enjoyed two of them. We ordered the onion tart as an appetizer, which was yummy! For lunch, I had the branzino, and my husband had the tuna sandwich. While the branzino was not a large portion, it was delicious and great for lunch. The tuna was no ordinary tuna sandwich, on delicious bread. This was not a smaller portion, but a hearty sandwich. We decided to order the Chocolate Pot dessert, which we cannot say enough good things about. It was so delicious. Dark, rich, thick, velvety but not sweet! Loved every mouthful. We had to savor it. I wish we had ordered two, and I had had my own! The service was excellent by a young lady server whose name I do not remember. She was friendly, quick, attentive, helpful and sweet (2/14 visit - 1:30 reservation). The manager/owner checked in on us frequently. While I see some mixed reviews here, give this place a try. I am bringing one of my friends back here for lunch on her birthday! We already scheduled it.
Four last things, 1/ if you are not familiar with the area, this is a nice place to walk around (shops and right on the water/boardwalk). 2/ I cannot speak for their dinner prices, but for lunch, this place was reasonable especially for the quality of the food, atmosphere, and service. We have spent more and eaten less (but drank the same amount) at a local pub -- and this was so much nicer. 3/ While the place has a lovely atmosphere, at lunch time, I was dressed in an upscale "sweats" outfit and my husband was in jeans and a flannel shirt, and it was perfectly fine! 4/ There were families there with adolescent but super well-behaved children, so they do accept children and seemed welcoming to them. Loved Loved!
Prix Fixe is wonderful.
The octopus and escargot was just ok. The octopus was fishy, close to turning. The branzino for two was absolutely perfect!!! Give this a place if you have not. It’s one of the bright stars in the area!
Disappointing! We came to celebrate an early Valentines Day, the same as last year. But it wasn’t the same! For starters they ran out of Branzino for 2 (this is at 6pm on a Saturday). The rest of meal was good but we decided to have desert. Big mistake!
Outstanding in every way. We met friends at Avenue last Saturday night and arrived shortly before 6 pm. As the hostess showed us to our table she let us know that the prix fixe dinner menu was available but only for a few minutes longer. As it turns out, our guests had reviewed the menu before arriving and found that the items they longed for were on the special menu. We jumped at the opportunity and alerted our server. He went straight to the kitchen to inform the Chef and returned to our table to inform us we were good to go and we placed our order. The food was superb, as it always is, and the service was first rate. Add that we enjoyed all this at a reasonable sum making for a perfect evening with friends. Well done Avenue!
We took my out for a special dinner out. The whole experience was just wonderful. Our server Kyle, was professional and very knowledgeable about the menu. He was very attentive to our table. The food was outstanding. We always have a great dining experience when we go to the Avenue. Mom loved it as well. Thank you!
Avenue is an elegant restaurant that is good for date night, get together with friends, etc. Menu had some of our favorite appetizers and entrees: east and west coast oysters, tuna tartare, steak tartare, vegetarian raviolis and more were some of the items that my three friends and I had for dinner...everything was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Beverages were also good!
Great restaurant. We keep coming back. Highly recommended.
Delicious French food in a beautiful setting on the ocean.
I enjoy this restaurant a lot. The ambiance and surroundings are elegant and pleasantly quiet for conversation at the table. The flank steak was delicious, only the french fries were cold. The salmon was excellent. The chicken was not as good. Apps and dessert were delicious. The service with Alexei was excellent. We were celebrating my mother's 99th Birthday and Alexei was very attentive. A sweet couple a few tables down sent a glass of champagne through the waiter for my mother. What a beautiful surprise. I have never experienced that in an American restaurant. It just shows what great clientele visit Avenue. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Feel like on vacation at the coast of France! Seafood or Meat, you will order the right thing! Ambiance, Food, Music and Service will make you come back. Enjoy!
Perhaps the main chef was off on this particular Monday night. The duck confit was salty beyond belief. I had to send the dish back and order something else. It was shocking to taste something that was probably 90% salt! My chicken dish was ok. Not anything special and not the best cut.
I love the place. The good is always good. But this time I was angry. We had 7:30 reservations for three. By 8:30, staff was cleaning up to go home. They raised the lights to ‘last call’ brilliance. We still wanted dessert and coffee but the vibe was too awkward. After a mere one hour, we were no longer welcome. My daughter was visiting, I was embarrassed. We have all traveled to Europe many times. This would NEVER happen there. This is fine dining?
I will be back because I still like the food. But still.
Poor show Avenue.
Very good service and brunch was exelent
My partner and I enjoyed the prix fixe menu doe New Years Eve! Food exceeded our expectations, and the service was very good on an evening when virtually every table was occupied! Had a great time. Will go again next year!
the Avenue is always exciting for New Years Eve-beautiful setting, good food, firework on the boardwalk, and excellent music!! have been going for 5 yeras
Went for an early (5P) seating on New Year’s Eve with my wife and kids. The menu was a three course prix fixe for $55. Putting aside the fact that they had no options available for kids and expected them to order off the prix fixe (not even chicken or pasta) the food was abysmal. It was clearly pre prepared en masse for the “crowds” and reheated. I ordered grilled octopus which was charred beyond being edible, cold, tough as rubber, and extremely fishy smelling. My entree was a flank steak that was dry, although smothered with a sauce. I’d characterize the food quality as first class airline food. It’s a shame because the restaurant itself is beautiful.
The short rib sandwich was mushy
We’ve been to Avenue a few times in the past. The ambience is always good due to its beachside location. But it doesn’t feel like the menu has changed and the food was just ok. I don’t feel it was worth traveling to or spending money on. A real pity.
Very Nice. Was a bit chilly in the dining room but it was a cold and rainy day.
We were welcomed graciously, served expertly, and the food was outstanding, from start to finish. The holiday decorations were festive, and we enjoyed the beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean from our table. Avenue is our favorite go-to restaurant for good reasons and we have never been disappointed.
Great restaurant on the beach in Long Branch, NJ. Wonderful atmosphere and delicious French cuisine summer or winter. Located in Pier Village. Friendly staff and management. Highly recommend!
Delicious meal. We were here in the winter. Definitely off peak. Seafood was yummy.
My wife and I have been Avenue clients for a few years.
The service and food have always been outstanding and of course a great wine list to go with the meal.
We use the Avenue for our special events, a quiet evening meal and on occasion stop by for happy hour..
Thanks for another pleasant evening.
Lovely brunch with my parents! We eat at Avenue all the time but this was the first brunch and everyone’s food was delicious. Best omelette I’ve had in a long time and my parents loved the eggs Benedict over smoked salmon. Looking forward to our next brunch!
The food is excellent. The trout and onion soup delicious. Atmosphere is cozy and decorated so beautiful for the holidays. The sorbet is homemade like everything. A great spot and our server was excellent. We will go back.
Been to Avenue before not sure if it was the Christmas Eve dinner menu but was it a disappointment.
Wonderful Christmas Eve Dinner also celebrating daughters 29th Bday . 4 of us started off with nice selection of martinis. We ordered the prefixe dinner which was a surprise! 3 courses for $32. Everything was delicious. I had the trout almondine. My daughter had the salmon and my husband and other daughter had the beef beournign(sp?) Trout was ok, would try something else next time. The beef and salmon were outstanding! Desserts were good too.
Perfect atmosphere for a,special occasion and our waiter was one of the best we have had in a long time!
Food was delicious and fairly priced. We had Bronzino and the Dover sole.
The only thing that upset me was I had a casa amigos tequila and found out they charged me $19 for it. The whole bottle cost 42. It upset me.
Simply love this restaurant. It’s always so beautiful and we could actually have a conversation without shouting. Even when crowded the tables are far enough apart and the acoustics are good. Our server was excellent as well!
