Avenue Bistro Pub Ratings and Reviews
I booked this dinner for 8 people on New Year's Eve on a whim. I had been here once for a bridal shower but didn't really know it otherwise. We were so pleased with our experience. Delicious, fairly priced, cozy and really friendly service. What a great way to say goodbye to 2017!
We have dined here many times & in the past have been pleased with the menu & service. This last visit was mixed. On a quiet Sat night the server though chipper basically ignored us. My husband's seafood shepherd 's pie was a special & it was delicious. Unfortunately my fish tacos which I have had before was not good. The fish tasted off so I ate very little of the fish.
This is a pleasant restaurant with a friendly wait staff, but the food was mediocre (oversauced, overcooked) and overpriced for what it was. No wonder it was easy to get a reservation on a Saturday night when so many other restaurants in the area were already booked.
First time at Avenue Bistro Pub (the night before Thanksgiving)...atmosphere was very cozy and quaint. Ethan our waitperson was very very good, attentive and on top of things. The broth that the mussels appetizer came in was outstanding, the muscles themselves very sweet but seemed cooked a bit too long. Caesar salad was delicious, next time my preference would be to ask for less dressing. We had the short ribs which were good and the salmon with julienne
vegetables, portion of vegetables was generous and yummy - the presentation left something to be desired. The salmon was buried underneath the vegetables, which had just been piled on top and the salmon was not to be seen; the salmon was just OK, nothing special. All in all, we did enjoy ourselves, not sure if we'll be back or not. For $130 for two (with 3 glasses of wine, one shared desert/cappuccino), there are a lot of other choices locally that offer a lot more as far as quality of food, at similar or better prices.
Was disappointed with my experience here for brunch. I’ve been for dinner which I probably would recommend but for whatever reason the brunch was lacking. The waitress also had some trouble with our order, very pleasant and seemed to have experience but incorrectly took down my friend and boyfriends dish. My frittata was also more like a grilled veggie platter/omelette. Not satisfactory at all. Would’ve loved to love it-close to my Home and usually a good spot.
I have been to Avenue Bistro quite a few times and it has always delivered. Have been there for dinner and Brunch and the food was always delicious, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. You can talk to your friends without shouting and enjoy a pleasant evening
I always enjoy eating at Avenue - chef has some interesting specials, and the regular menu offers whatever you might be in the mood for, whether it's simply a hamburger or fresh tuna or herbed salmon w/ vegetables....one of my favorite dishes is the chicken milanese - prepared w/ a salad with white balsamic dressing, goat cheese and dried cranberries - a slightly different take on the usual ! Highly recommend this place - and if you like outdoor dining - their patio is great - complete w/ 2 fire pits!! (great for brunches, too!)
The food is always very good at Avenue Bistro :) My friends and I go there at least a few times a year. We visit more in the summer for lunch because of its proximity to our office and we especially love the outdoor dining when weather permits, too hot at times because of the wrought iron tables and seats, otherwise it is pleasant and comfortable.
Be mindful to always "feed the meter" in the lot when going to Avenue Birstro mid-day during the week, always keep some quarters in your purse.
I brought friends here on someone's recommendation. My friends were in from Tucson and I hadn't seen them in 10 years so I wanted someplace comfortable, quiet, with good food, and personable service. We received all of these things from staff who all treated us like family. Food was delicious and gave everyone plenty of options. Setting a reservation was simple and the restaurant was beautiful.
The food and service were excellent. It was nice to see gluten free options on the menu. Our waiter was very attentive and even brought us more chips for our dip. Parking in the municipal lot behind the restaurant was really easy. Great experience. Will definitely be going back.
We had a really bad experience. We were a party for 4 and no one really liked their meal. The grits were watery and the fish tacos had no flavor. The service was also really terrible. The waitress was MIA for most of the meal. Never asked if anyone wanted a second drink. Definitely won't be going back.
