Avenida Modern Filipino Restaurant and Bar was inspired by the dynamic lifestyle of Avenida Rizal, one of the main thoroughfares in the Old Manila during the pre and post World War II era. It was named after the Philippine National Hero, Jose Rizal.

For decades, Avenida Rizal was a melting pot as well as the mecca for entertainment and dining in the Philippines.

Being the center of Old Manila’s social life, Avenida Rizal was also famous for its Art Deco as well as its theaters and opera house where performing arts lovers came to watch zarzuelas, vaudeville acts and stage plays. The theaters were designed by very well respected architects who were later honored as National Artists.

Avenida Restaurant would like to pay homage to the glory days of the Old Manila.

This location is becoming one of my favorite locations to hang out and eat. We ordered: lumpia, pork and chicken adobo, beef Kare Kare, Lechon kawali, beef shank, and Pinakbet. For drinks: Tokyo sour,Pandan daiquiri , and Johnny walker black. For dessert: halo halo, buco pandan and turón. Everything was so good and wait staff was super accommodating and friendly. I would definitely come back.

Pleasantly surprised! My mom, who is never impressed by any restaurant, let alone a Filipino one, gave Avenida 2 thumbs up. The food was fresh, delicious and full of complex flavors. It felt homey and familiar with a modern twist. We were all impressed. Notables were the crispy para, fried chicken wings and Bangus sisig. Yum! Will definitely return.

It’s becoming one of my favorite locations to eat Filipino food. We ordered: lumpia, Lechon Kawale, Beef Kare Kare, Chickem and Pork adobo, and Pinakbet. Plus we ordered Garlic Rice. (Yummy). Everything is so good. We also ordered to drink Tokyo sour ( not strong enough) and Jeju Holiday ( told the bartender to make it stronger) Omg, that was very good and strong. Service is very good as usual and I definitely will come back. It even got mom’s thumbs up especially when everything was nice and tender.

Number 1 place to get our filipino food fix! Great customer service and happy upbeat environment makes this place even better. Drinks are also perfect!

Went here for my birthday for the first time and twas delicious! The vibes were v cute and classy but the price is so reasonable want to come again!

This is the second time we have been here. We ordered so much food, which caused us to have a lot of leftover, but we wanted to try different plates we haven’t tried the last time. I loved their, kare kare, their lumpia, their pork and chicken adobo, pinakbet with garlic rice. Yummy.

Service was great! We came right when they opened. The lumpia was perfect! And the corned beef sinigang was sarap! Portions are sizable. So eating family style would be the best choice. Will come back again with a bigger group. Only because I wanted to try more of their options!

This was our first time going and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the wait staff was very friendly. We shared a bunch of food family style and it was definitely the way to go. We didn’t regret anything we ordered, will definitely come back next time we are on this side of the bay!
