Avelo Restaurant is located in a heritage townhouse on a quiet street in Yorkville and serves some of the city's finest plant-based cuisine. Our aim is to deliver an extraordinary and immersive dining experience where the servers guide guests through an exploration of many small plates highlighting seasonal ingredients while offering insight into each dish. We also offer an optional wine pairing and are able to accommodate many dietary restrictions with advance notice.

Avelo hosts two dinner seatings per evening where guests choose between the 5-course or the 8-course* tasting menu. The seating times are 5-6:15pm and 7:45-8:30pm.

    My dream was to go to 11 Park Ave, NYC, but, well... Instead I found this plant-based fine dining restaurant and that's where I decided to take my guest. The service was great, the space is lovely, the non-alcoholic drink menu was a bonus. We came for the 5 course tasting menu. It was interesting, innovative, but sadly, for me, not a mouth-watering "I've died and gone to heaven" flavour experience. My guest enjoyed a few more items. I liked the 4th course with black-eyed pea tempeh on the smokey carrot puree; and the rhubarb pavlova was great. We were seated in the bar area because AC wasn't working in the dining room and I wonder if the music playlist is different upstairs. It didn't suit the ambiance. I love plant-based meals and am supportive of plant-based fine dining. Not having been to 11 Park, I can't compare, but suspect the flavours would be better. Maybe? Anyway, we had a great time and I would try it again.

    I read through a ton of reviews prior to booking our reservation, so I was unsure what to expect with our trip, but my husband and I were both extremely satisfied. We did the 5-course menu option. The food tasted phenomenal, with such a unique variety of items combined together. The server (Flo) was fabulous, explaining every course in great detail. As with most 5+ course menus, the foods served were a smaller portion, but as there were so many, we did not leave hungry. We look forward to returning on our wedding anniversary to enjoy the 8-course menu.

    This was one of the most unique and beautiful meals I’ve ever had. The plating was stunning, the flavours were unique and the service was exceptional. We will be going back for every special occasion.

    Every dish was unique and delicious and served with such beauty. The five course tasting menu was totally satisfying and the staff provided excellent service. Timing was perfect between courses. Would recommend this to those who are vegan or non-vegan.

    As a lifelong vegan, I was excited to be in Toronto for business and booked a reservation for Avelo's 5-course dinner with wine pairing. The first three courses and the amuse were incredible. But when the lemon foam fiddlehead chickpea dish arrived, the 5-star experience cratered - the dish was hardly edible, with the fiddleheads drowned in a thick, sharp, saturated lemon custard. When I mentioned the dish didn't fit with the rest of the meal, she expressed surprise, shurgging and saying this was one of her favorites. She then advised i should have eaten it all together- a bite of fiddlehead, chickpea, and foam. Which i had done, but unhelpful to have this referenced after the fact. When the rhubarb pavlova dessert arrived, it had a similar sharp, lemon custard - again, disappointing considering the high quality of the first dishes.
