Avelina - Denver
Food was excellent, service was a bit slow even though the restaurant was less than half filled, noise level was distressingly loud even though the restaurant was only half filled and beverage I received was not what I ordered.
Crystal was an amazing professional!! Food was good. Pork dish was fantastic. Scallops were cooked well but overall dish was inconsistent. The duck was lovely. The sourdough bread and shrimp scampi entree fantastic. Octopus had great flavor but was cold. Cocktails were yum. We will be back. Impeccable service!!
The food was delicious! The wait staff was incredible. Very friendly!
As always, Avelina is our favorite spot. Our server Justin’s tonight made for a perfect evening filled with the most delicious food and fantastic drinks. We eat there multiple times a year, and plan to for a very long time!
Yum yum in my tum tum
The menu was excellent along with the service! The Burrata with shaved Foie Gras was delicious, although I would have preferred an actual piece of foie gras. The Ribeye was flavorful and tender. We shared a dessert that was just fantastic. We will be back!
Service at the bar was fabulous, the food was beautifully plated and tasted amazing. Will be returning in the near future for sure!
Absolutely delicious! We went for Restaurant Week and had the Octopus, Tuna Tartare, Sea Bass and Short Ribs.
Bestie brunch! Fabulous!!
We had a group of 9 at our table. Our waitress handled our boisterous group with finesse. All agreed that the food was absolutely amazing! On a Saturday night, the restaurant was full, so somewhat noisy, but that was also our group. The ambiance is sophisticated and chic, without being pretentious. The Life's a Beet cocktail was original and unique, and dangerously delicious. I highly recommend the Espresso Martini as a dessert. I cannot say enough good things about this place, as we have never had an even remotely off experience...always perfect!!! Congrats to Exec Chef Josh on his most recent accolades and awards! Well deserved!
Food, wine and service were all outstanding. Both our server and the floor manager took care of us, and we felt very well-attended. My tuna tartare and flank steak were both delicious, and my date's carpaccio and short ribs were also outstanding. Would highly recommend.
Great dinner. The short rib was tender and full of flavor.. The brined pork tenderloin was melt in you mouth magic. The atmosphere was a bit dark for my preference but we enjoyed the experience.
We had a wonderful experience here. Max our server was very professional and everyone loved their food. I will recommend the restaurant to friends.
We enjoyed Avelina during Restaurant week and our favorite dishes were the pork belly,
the tuna tartar, pork tenderloin and the Flat Iron steak. They also brought us a cup of their homemade salted carmel ice-cream for our friend's birthday! Nice atmosphere; good vibe! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great food, good value. We love restaurant week. Thanks.
Everything was very nice however, the noise level was extremely loud. There was a party of 8 celebrating something and they were literally shouting at their table. Someone should have told them to tone it down a little.
Had a wonderful Restaurant Week experience and loved all of our food. Highly recommend the apple cider mule!
Went there for Denver restaurant week with three other people. Their selection of food is off the charts! The food was delicious, our server was excellent. He was friendly and attentive. I also love the atmosphere!
Went for restaurant week, which can sometimes be a gamble. Had the carpaccio and the sea bass, which were both excellent.
We went to Avelina for Restaurant Week 2020. They atmosphere was nice, and noise wasn't too loud. The service was excellent, and they had a fun bar with seasonal cocktails. We enjoyed our meal!
This was my second time here. My first time was a great experience where our wonderful server helped to guide us through the menu and pick out some amazing dishes. My experience for Denver Restaurant Week was somewhat ruined by our grumpy and non-interactive server. He seemed annoyed to be there, answered our questions with a single word response that was not helpful and seemed to have no interest in the job he was doing. The food was good and I like the ambiance but it is amazing how different your experience with a place can be based purely on the service.
Asked the server for suggestions which she happily gave. Suggestions were for main course and dessert. Both were fantastic! I appreciate specific suggestions instead of “everything is good”. I had dinner with an out of town guest - Avelina showcased the great restaurants we have in Denver!!
Service was amazing! Crystal did a wonderful job keeping up with all the needs of my party of 9. Really enjoyed the dinner and birthday surprise at the end. Highly recommend celebrating your next special occasion here!
Denver Restaurant Week, so limited selections. Staff did all they could to accommodate cow's milk allergies. Nice wine selection. Love the almond soap in restroom. Lovely meal--thank you!
Overall, good food and good experience. Service was great.
Great brunch sport with good prices
Great dinner served by an outstanding wait staff in a contemporary setting. Food (appetizers of crispy Brussels sprouts, wagyu beef carpaccio, octopus, and Colorado lamb meatball) were very good. The smoked pork tenderloin was the big hit among the 4 entrees although all were very good ( flat iron steak, pastrami short rib, and Alamosa stripped bass.)
One of our favorite restaurants for an excellent experience, great food and wonderful service. We love to go for special occasions since Avelina does not disappoint!
We really enjoyed the octopus and the Alamosa Sea Bass during our visit for Denver Restaurant Week. The carpaccio was decent, but it does not compare to Tavernetta's carpaccio, yet overall the server was very nice and prompt, the drinks were good, and the ambiance was not too bright, not too dark, which was great. Definitely recommend this place to others.
We went during Denver Restaurant Week and the portion sizes were barely anything at all. We all left still hungry from not eating enough. When we originally chose this restaurant, the menu online showed 3 courses but when we arrived they have knocked it down to 2 courses, again with the smallest portion sizes.
Went for Denver restaurant week with some girlfriends and had an enjoyable time. There were only two courses on the menu, but plenty to choose from and we only needed one dessert to share anyway. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Would go back.
Food was delicious and our server was fantastic
Good food and service. I was just disappointed where they seated us. I didn’t like too much this second room with very bad lighting and seats.
We had a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner. The food, wine , and service was excellent. Great job!
We had a lovely Valentine’s Day meal and date at Avelina!
My dinner was good, but my dates dinner was nothing spectacular. With the limited menu on Valentine’s Day, I was expecting more in the way of quality.
The staff was nice although our main waiter seemed distracted when taking our order and seemed agitated that my date did not like her dinner.
I don’t know if the bar was under staffed that evening, but when I ordered a drink before my main course arrived and I did not get it until my desert arrived, left me a little put off.
I would go back and sit at the bar for a happy hour, but I would not spend the money on another dinner.
The experience was overall good, the bday set menu didn’t give much choice. The starters were great the main course lacked options for vegans or vegetarians, a poultry dish would have been a nice add. Desserts good, service and drinks god as well. Will come back again to try their full menu.
The food and service was best described as solid but the ambiance was lacking a bit. The lights were a tad too bright and the music was non existent until later in the evening (when the small crowd dissipated).
Really interesting menu. Octopus and tuna tartar small plates were amazing, as were the duck and scallops dinners. Service was impeccable. Be prepared for a pricy wine menu.
