   Outstanding dining experience. Loved everything about it. Food was fresh and perfectly prepared. I had the king salmon. It just melts in your mouth! Service was exceptional too. This is a must try! 👏🏾❤️😋❤️🙏🏾

   I really wanted to love Avana—a new Black-owned restaurant we chose to try for my girlfriend’s birthday. Unfortunately, the entire experience left us disappointed and uncomfortable. We arrived about an hour early for our reservation and decided to grab drinks at the bar. The space is modern and stylish, and there was a DJ playing, which created a lively atmosphere. However, the music was way too loud—more club than restaurant—which made it hard to talk. While we were at the bar, the bartender was friendly, but it felt like she was directing all her attention toward me and not acknowledging my girlfriend at all, which was off-putting. Things got worse when a stranger came up beside my girlfriend, whispered in her ear, and continued making inappropriate gestures, clearly trying to hit on her. The bartender noticed and said something, but the man ignored him and kept going. No staff member intervened beyond that, and I had to physically step in to stop the man. It was incredibly uncomfortable and unacceptable—especially since it seemed like he might have been a regular, and no one wanted to deal with it. We asked to be seated a bit early and were accommodated, but by then our appetite was gone. The food didn’t help. I ordered the shrimp scampi, which unexpectedly came with black noodles—not something I was used to or wanted. My girlfriend got the steak with lobster mac & cheese. The steak had an overpowering Parmesan flavor, and the mac & cheese was dry and lacked flavor. The only thing we actually liked were the deviled eggs. We ended up sending the food back, paid for our drinks, and were getting ready to leave when the manager came over and insisted we pay for the food—even though we didn’t eat it. On top of that, no one acknowledged my girlfriend’s birthday, which felt like a missed opportunity to show some hospitality. Between the unsettling interaction at the bar, poor customer service, and disappointing food, I can’t recommend Avana. We won’t be going back.

   My party was seated earlier than our reservation. The customer service was great! The food was delicious. We were surprised at the presentation of the Caesar salad. Chef Chop was amazing! After dinner we went and sat at the bar. The bartenders were very nice and attentive. I will be back when I come back to Philly. Thanks for the experience!

   EVERYTHING was quite lovely! Loved the decor and ambiance. The food was REALLY yummy! The only observation is that it seems everything is sweet or on a plate with something that is sweet. We ordered a lot of food and all of the sweet taste were a little distracting. The Brussels sprouts were excessively sweet. Again, everything we ate was delicious. Just a little strange that all of the dishes were sweet. I will be back soon!

   Pro: Nice decor Professional and nice employees Con; Overpriced food Mediocre food With Gordon Ramsey restaurant prices, there needs to be top chef quality food.

   First time at Avana and overall a good experience, there was an event going on so the bar/lounge area was packed and the music was a bit loud for conversation in the dining area closer to the bar, will definitely ask for a table further back next time. The food was tasty but some dishes are overpriced, some portions were quite large ( lobster Mac n cheese) while others on the smaller side ( Chilean sea bass). The deviled eggs with catfish toppers appetizer was delicious. Will definitely go back, nice vibe overall and love supporting the Amina Hospitality Group!

   One of the best restaurants I’ve been to. Food and atmosphere AMAZING!!!!! Service OUTSTANDING!!!!! Very clean and very friendly!!!! First time at AVANA’s and won’t be the last!!!!!

    Food was amazing, nothing on the menu is average. I appreciate my waitress, she went above and beyond. The only downside, when you arrive, standing there at the door waiting for someone to seat me and greet me when the employees are just talking by the bar, took too much time.
