charred allium, puffed grain, spring greens
kale, summer squash, agrodolce
green garlic, maitake, polenta
Pastas were outstanding. Service was a bit out of sorts. But will give it another chance, since food and drinks were good.
Amazing food and quality wine selection. The Doppio is a must!
Tasty unique dishes, all with lots of flavor. My table and I enjoyed the shishito pepper, and panisse appetizers. Both delicious, although the shishito pepper portions were on the rather small size when split between 3. I ordered the black cod which was amazing. Highly recommend this place for the service and food.
The outdoor seating was ok, but not great. My group had dinner on a Friday night sitting at the outdoor patio (primarily for COVID precautions). The outdoor seating has 4 tables, each with 4 chairs. It is covered. While there were heaters available, there were not enough to direct heat at every table. Our table ended up being rather cold halfway through the meal, despite bundling ahead of time knowing we were sitting outside. I would absolutely return to this restaurant, but would personally opt to sit inside or only choose outside during the daytime when it’s warm & dry.
It was a very nice night out. Cocktails were especially noteworthy, but everything was fantastic.
Service, food quality and setting are very good. The overall value, however, is poor. We have been to Autumn several times and found many serving sizes ridiculously small. Some appetizers priced at ~$16 are so tiny that you're asking yourself whether the chef got distracted while loading your plate. In the interest of longer-term sustainability in this neighborhood, Autumn should seriously re-visit their micro-portion business model.
Not a spec of food was left on the plate. Everything was outstanding! We’ll definitely be back 😎
It was good except the brightly lit sterile bathrooms right next to our seats was not pleasant. Also the lighting overall was too bright for a romantic date spot. The food was good, but there were pretty limited protein entree choices. I thought there might be some specials but apparently not. Too bad because it's walkable to our house so we were hoping this would be "our" spot, but it's just not really that worth it.
We had the chef's choice and it was delicious. For $72 pax, we got way more food than I think we would have gotten ordering a la carte. We got three appetizers, three pastas, two proteins, and two desserts. Every dish was delightful. The shrimp pasta was especially good!
The dishes were creative and well prepared. Oysters were probably not at their prime time and a little bit too fishy. Gelato was awesome as it was served with a pinch of salt.
In terms of the environment, maybe the restaurant was trying to comply with covid guidelines, but an opened door after sunset was a nightmare. Overall positive experience.
Not a dull moment with their food! Love their service, love their food.
Lively, but not too loud atmosphere within a modern stylish space. Complex flavors blend beautifully to create delicious dishes. We loved the Shishito Peppers, Oysters, Tonnarelli and Black Cod plates. Kind and quick service. autumn is a treasured addition to the Phinney neighborhood.
The whole menu was fantastic. Autumn (unsurprisingly) had a defined and cohesive vision. The timing of the dishes was perfect. I’d highly recommend three apps and two of the pastas and you’ll be all set.
I'm a big fan of General Harvest's two restaurants in West Seattle, and Autumn is a wonderful addition. The menu is different, but also familiar. It's easy to trust that you're going to get really good food. You know it's good when lively conversation pauses so you and your friend can revel in the delicious first bites of each new dish that arrives at the table. Well done!
Food was out of this world, multilayered and marvelous!! Service was lovely too!
Lovely service, great neighborhood spot. Food was ok but not dying to go back.
I'm honestly not sure if 'Seattlelocal' woke up on the wrong side of the bed or what. I completely disagree with their assessment that this is not 'a foodie' restaurant. Nuanced and delicate is how I would describe the food at Autumn. The cocktail was complex and surprising -- in the best way. The folks making the food are packing lots of flavor into these dishes -- Pastas were beautiful and are made with a deft hand. Staff was super warm and helpful -- with excellent recommendations on food and wine.
Moved to Seattle recently after 9 years in New York. This was easily the best meal I've had since arriving (and I've hit all the Seattle 'spots', including Canlis). This was truly something special. Will be back.
We made a mistake ordering the tasting menu. This restaurant is not geared towards that dining experience. For a good tasting menu, the food should be explained as each course is delivered, not just plopped down in front of you in a harried way. The server also did not initially explain the tasting menu well - she told us we would get 8 appetizers, 4 pasta dishes, etc. and and would therefore be able to try most of the menu. We thought this was a great way to go. However, what came out was simply larger portions (and not 8 different appetizers), served family style on the table. Also, for the 3rd (main) course, the portions (2 dishes - pork and cod) were so large that the food was wasted. Simply put, this restaurant lacks the sophistication to do a tasting menu. This restaurant has creative ideas and a couple of the dishes were very good, but it certainly is not in the tier of a truly foodie restaurant. This is more of a family style bistro where you can get a decent meal on a weekday night. I would also point out that the server was only slightly friendly, and her fake bowing with the prayer symbol at the end to make up for her shoddy service during the course of our entire meal was annoying.
Amazing and delicious. Lovely service. A winner!!!!
Everything we tried was delicious! Service was great. Can’t wait to go back again!
Delicious food and great staff. Can't wait to go back.
Loved the open kitchen- felt as if we were dining at Chef's home kitchen. Food was tasty, presentations were thought out!
Our first time there. Delicious all the way around. Pasta, black cod, squid and dessert top notch.
What a delicious menu! We went here for my husband's birthday on the first day of fall, and we enjoyed the oysters, salmon crudo, bread & butter, summer vegetables, two pastas, the black cod and the duck, plus the 2 desserts. The cocktails and wine were great, too. Everything on the menu really spoke to us! All so delicious and artful, and the service was kind and thoughtful. We plan to go again once the "deep fall" menu is out.
Duck Breast was recommended by waiter and was the most delicious duck sliced - meaty and moist with very crispy, charred skin.
Pasta was delicious but a tiny portion.
Dined outside on the patio last week despite the weather turning to rain. Although we were the only table dining outside, the staff was extremely attentive and checked in with us frequently. Food was fantastic and prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and service.
Casually stopped in for dinner and had an excellent experience. The chef’s tasting menu was incredible.
Our server, Brittany, made us feel so welcome! The food was great and her recommendations were spot on. We appreciate the outside option to feel a bit safer in these covid times.
My only complaint was that the doppio only had one pocket instead of the traditional two. I was really looking forward to seeing how they would play with the two different fillings separate but sharing the same ravioli. It seems like a ripe playground for a modern kitchen.
It was our first time and our first "group project" deciding where to eat. So excited to have a local spot as a non-local spot for my friend that was new! Delcious and beautiful ambiance!
Excited to have this restaurant in our neighborhood! Service to the outside tables (around the corner) lacked a little bit - perhaps a proximity or new business thing. Ex: table not wiped off between courses, water rarely refilled, missing a napkin, etc. The pasta was great - excited for the menu to rotate a bit as well. Portions are very small for the price, across the menu. House cocktails were nothing special, but wine was great.
The service and the food was excellent! Did the chefs tasting course and it was amazing. Pastas were so fresh and tasty. Generous shareable portions. Left stuffed. Will come again! Great location.
Great dining experience! The food was amazing and our server was the best!
We did the tasting menu and the food was beautifully presented and delicious with welbalanced flavors and textures.
The food (duck & black cod) my guest and I had was good. Tasty. Wanting to please but inexperienced wait staff. Value is relative. ~$100 for two people is OK but did my guest and I come away with the feeling we wanted to come back a second time, irrespective of price? No. Perhaps, with time, the total experience at Autumn will improve and it will have successful future.
We enjoyed the chefs choice menu, and every course was a culinary masterpiece! Bravo Chef!!
I truly cannot say enough about our experience at Autumn. The food is over the top delicious with unique combinations of ingredients. Every bite was savored and every dish was prepared perfectly. The atmosphere was lovely and it was a perfect place to celebrate my birthday. We cannot wait to go back and we feel so lucky Autumn is in our neighborhood.
We decided to try this place for my boyfriend’s birthday. The cocktails were delicious. Our food was also good with unique flavors. We would recommend this place for a local Italian spot. Excited to come back!
Enjoyed the location and concept, however the main dishes were not flavored or prepared properly for our party of 4. Mine was overly salty, another's had extremely al dente pasta to the point of almost being undercooked, and others found their cooked greens to be almost impossible to eat due to being extremely stringy. Our server also disappeared mid-meal with no explaination and was not really backfilled, it felt like we were the 'hot potato' table being juggled by a variety of other wait staff while supporting their other tables.
I had high hopes for a chef with this resume, but think they have some wrinkles to iron out still after being open only a few months.
Went for a quiet date night, all around great service and the food was amazing.
Excellent pastas! Deserts felt pedestrian after the main course…
