Nothing really negative but nothing really great!
$50 for lunch with ONE beignets to split as appetizer. No drinks just coffee. Neither one of would order our entrees again. Missing something special for that caliber of restaurant.
Service from the owner and staff was EXCEPTIONAL! Food was also EXCEPTIONAL! Left feeling crazy impressed.
We went for my husband's birthday. Not many people there which was nice for us - not noisy or rushed. We did the tasting menu and we got just about everything we would have ordered ourselves. The bacalao was a standout as was the duck sausage flatbread. It was very relaxing and very filling. We were happy with the service as well. It do recommend it for a nice special occasion.
Love going here. The food is great, and the staff always make us feel special.
Great good and service. Very close quarters between tables and very loud on a Saturday night.
Really good food. Great drinks.
Had to wait for service at times, was very busy.
Overall we enjoyed it quite a bit.
Great veg tagine, flatbread and polenta! Kind hosts and waitstaff and management as well.
Yummy food. Maybe more flair on risotto? It was delicious but visually it looked like baby blurp! Adorable waitress and support service was great. Almost there!
We had heard this place was amazing for while now and finally got a chance to try it. We were NOT disappointed. Every plate was different and tasty. The service was casual an on point. Our new favorite spot? Can't wait to go back!
Great food and service. Bacon date flatbread was amazing!
This restaurant never disappoints!
Derish. We had several small plates. Beets-amazing. Shrimp/prawns. Good . Note, shrimp heads with fat included, unusual but very good. Octupus-Cooked well. Maybe the dressing was a little to acidic for me.
1/2 chicken - out of this world. Served in a bowl . At the bottom, mashed potats swimming in juice from the chicken. Bomb crust to the check, tender and delish on the inside. Would go back for this. Companions had sea bass which looked great. They said it tasted as good as it looked.
I did not drink but companions said wine was very good, a french chard.
Service, not their fault, but we were not in the mood for sharing plates, which is what they are known for. But they dealt.
This is close to us so we will probably go again soon. The trip from the city is not to bad (our friends said)_ and they said they would come again for sure.
The food and service were both excellent! We were there on a busy night and it was so loud that we couldn't hear each other from across the table.
I have been to Autre Monde maybe 10 times and always enjoy it. I usually have the tasting menu. This visit was the first time that the tasting menu disappointed me a bit -- it was delicious, but somehow lacked the interest and variety of past visits --- just a little below my expectations --- but I'll be back!
This has been one of our favorite restaurants but this visit was lacking in service and not real thrilled with our menu choices. We both ordered the special pistachio ricotta salad of the day which our server mentioned as a special but if she would have told us it was a pickled veggies salad, we would certainly have skipped that. The pork belly appetizer was over cooked but the veal meatball was very good. We would have spoken to the server about the disappointing items ordered but she was not around until my husband’s second glass of wine finally showed up when another person came by with our check. We’ll probably come back another time after we give Autre Monde a bit of a hiatus.
Autre Monde is worth the hassle of getting there, which for us is a hassle requiring taking the Eisenhower. You won’t be disappointed. The cuisine is Mediterranean small plates, and the chef, who I understand came from Spiaggia, changes up the menu seasonally so there’s always something new on the menu to get excited about. Try the duck sausage flat bread. Yummm
We came early evening on a Sunday so it was quieter. My friend and I were eating small plates. Everything was delicious. Flatbread, beets and goat cheese and grilled octopus. I am so happy to have such a great restaurant in my town.
The cocktails were very well executed. We ordered 4 different dishes 3 out of 4 were great. The shrimp with the polenta was a throw away dish. We are plaining a second trip already.
It was a small birthday dinner. We ordered the hummus/ pita, pork belly, octopus, shrimp cakes and for the big plates we ordered the pork porter and steak frites.. everything was soo delicious and you can tell the chef puts a lot of thought and care with the ingredients.... we had the lemon cheesecake and sorbet that had champagne and pear. Dessert was perfect and not too sweet. Co-worker recommended this place and this is now my new favorite restaurant. I’m coming back!! Also ordered the cocktail drink that had mezcal and something fruity and orange... it was not too sweet or strong which I like.
We have an amazing time always at Autre Monde. The food is fantastic and the drinks are fun.
My wife is allergic to dairy and was almost served the wrong entree which had cheese in it. The waitress was very responsive though but someone else put the wrong dish on the table. The place was crowded and noisy on Valentine's night. We were conversationally challenged. The steak was very flavorful though, but the fries were nothing special. The hummus was good. The table we had was very small and they had to move a lot of stuff around to fit the plates. I've been here before in the summer for brunch in the patio, and that was a more enjoyable experience. I probably won't come here in the winter anymore.
Wonderful food, service and ambiance.
Great food and lots of energy in the room.
Autre Monde is the kind of place I'm glad we can find in the western suburbs. Interesting takes on small dishes. Not everything was a home run, but the effort was appreciated. The pintxos were very good: duck breast, pork belly. The grilled octopus was tender and tasty, and the duck sausage flatbread worked well. The gnocchi was also interesting. The only real disappointment was the cassoulet. We enjoyed the flavor, but the beans were oddly undercooked (not velvety like a traditional cassoulet). We stuck to small plates given the smaller appetites of some in our party. It's definitely worth a return trip. Restaurants like Autre Monde need local support, and this one earns it.
This is our favorite local restaurant. Food, wine always phenomenal. We love this place!
As always, incredible food, warm atmosphere and great wine list. My only gripe was that during this particular visit many of the red wine by the glass offerings were not available and the substitutes were not on par. The Maryland Pinot was too sweet and thin. Even with that minor issue it’s still one of my favorite restaurants. Been 7 times and never one bad morsel of food. A true gem.
Great Local restaurant with innovative Cuisine. Nice staff with small but varied menu.
Overall food was great but our steak was not. Should have stopped before the last course. Noise far too loud.
loved the steak but portion too small for price...service was sloppy and not crowded so no excuse
Excellent food and great service. We did the chef tasting and you get so much food for a rather inexpensive price.
As usual the food and service were outstanding. Our server, Eric, is one of the very best anywhere. Well versed on the menu and always has great suggestions
Autre Monde always delivers. Unique but approachable menu, great brunch cocktails and family friendly. One of our favorite brunch spots.
Great restaurant. Worth the price in gold! Best scallops in the area!
Great Service. This was our second time here and overall it was a very good experience. There were five or us and we decided as a table to do the chef's tasting. It was a lot of food, and it was all very good. My only reason for not going five stars was that we all thought a few dishes were a bit over salted. Other than that, a great place with very good service and attention. We will be back.
Our family loves the steaks, fish dishes & hummus with homemade pita bread... it’s work the wait!
This was our second visit to Autre Monde. We really enjoyed the flatbreads on our first visit and were looking forward to them again, especially the duck sausage. However, this time the edges of the flatbread were a little too burnt. We didn't complain at the time, because we had a show to get to and couldn't wait for a redo. The taste of the main parts of the flatbreads were still delicious. We just had to break off the burnt edges. We will still go back again, and this time make sure the edges aren't overdone. On a side note, our waiter was a little lax, but it looked like he had a lot of tables to attend to so it was only a minor flaw.
Food was tremendous... Bacon date flatbread, prawns, shrimp, octopus, chorizo, risotto, tagine, all was really good.
The food was excellent but the selections were limited. There weren't any soups and the only non-alcoholic drinks were Coke and Diet Coke. Most restaurants have a nonalcoholic beer and all have a caffeine free drink like Sprite. They had a number of small plates but only about 5 entrees.
We enjoyed the hummus accompanied by excellent homemade pita, the fresh fish , the Amish chicken and the delicious apple crisp dessert.
The service was good.
The wine list was highly overpriced. My entree was cold when I received it. We had it sent back to the kitchen only to have part of it preheated and the fish not reheated so it "wouldn't be overcooked". The sauce for the octopus appetizer was enjoyable. The octopus a little overdone--almost tasted like chicken. We asked for bread and after a 10 minute wait we were given 2 pieces of toasted bread. My husband ordered a 8oz strip steak which was at best 6 oz. The frites that accompanied it were good and crisp though. There were 10 diners including us in the restaurant and service was so slow our dinner lasted 90 minutes. It seemed as if everyone was ordering flatbreads because they were getting served with regularity. Perhaps they should focus more on flatbreads and forget the main entrees all together.
Incredibly salty food. Steak was overdone. Tuna pâté texture was rather mealy and overall was disappointing. Pita with the hummus was very good. Wine pours were minimal. And service was snippy: you are asked to place orders all at once, "that's how the chef prefers". If so, then there's no excuse for the two only entrees to be served almost ten minutes apart. Had to actually ask where the second entree was. Would not go back and will not recommend. Oh, and watch out for the upselling; very irritating.
