Just a wonderful evening. Thanks so much
Always exciting new specials to go along with regular favorites. One of our top 3 favorite places to go.
So glad we live near this awesome place! (Have the hummus/ajvar while you are deciding... )
Overall it was an excellent place.
Drawbacks for us.
No parking other than street parking and no valet.
The place has a sign but it's not lit up so if it's your first time it was a little difficult to find.
The truth is it was raining so hard that night it made it more difficult than it needed to be but a light on the restaurant signage would have been helpful.
Sorry to vent on that --Overall great place
I've been wanting to go to Autre Monde for years! I'm so excited I had an out of town guest to provide the excuse to go. Although a bit noisier than I would have liked, the food was superb, as were the cocktails and service. The tables were a tad close together, but that has never bothered me. I only mention it in case anyone doesn't like a more communal dining experience. The reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is that prices are indicative of the quality of food. If it were a bargain for the quality of the food, I would give it a 5.
Among us we had the daily salad, hummus, pork belly and duck breast for appetizers. We then had the pork chop porterhouse and the Amish Chicken. All was exceptionally good coupled with fantastic service. Most outstanding were the duck breast and the pork porterhouse!
Food was great. Server was rude and short at times. He could have just been buys but felt annoyed.
Wonderful local place worth driving too care given to quality of food and service top notch
Loud atmosphere, limited wine available, steaks over cooked
Service was inattentive. Kitchen was extremely slow. Food was so so - scallops had strong ammonia flavor. Inedible. Would not repeat.
Great eats and cool vibes! Will be returning again sooner than later.
Always great food and great service. Specials are always available.
I have lived in the greater Berwyn/Cicero area most of my life and love this place.
Overall a very pleasant environment. The portions food were adequate. Found our pork undercooked and had to send it back. Wait staff were very pleasant and efficient.
I've never had a less than exceptional meal here. Love their creativity and the Soulful Sundays are an awesome combination of fabulous food and great music! Bravo!
Dined on patio. Lovely night outside. Started by sharing 3 Pintxos. Pork belly...outstanding! Duck Breast...fig sauce was an excellent complement. Piquillo/chorizo...mild & enjoyable. Moved onto Prawns. Very large, perfectly grilled...excellent. A nice bottle of white for a wonderful evening.
Incredible food and cocktails, and a world-class wine selection. Beautiful outdoor patio. A great place for a top-notch meal.
The food was good. We shared a number of dishes. The beet salad was good. The scallops were tasty but tiny. Scallops in an escargot dish............really?! The pork however was excellent.
Service was very good. The interior of the restaurant is well done. It's only a few steps from there to Fitzgerald's which is where we heading for the evening.
Very good food.? Portioned controlled. Octopus and the duck pizza were amazing!
Did the chef's choice fixed price dinner for two. Fresh tomato salad, chorizo stuffed peppers, cheese and rice meatballs, grilled octopus, prawns, risotto with corn, steak, and dessert. And a nice bottle of wine which our server helped select. Excellent food (more than we could eat) and great service.
Overall excellent. Ian, our server, was helpful to us and answered our menu questions.
Great restaurant in the suburbs, liked the outdoor patio space and love their cocktails.
Just...wow. The gnocchi with lamb was to die for. The hummus was absolutely fantastic (and I know my hummus). Also loved the craft cocktail.
We love Autre Monde, but we went in specifically for the chef's tasting menu this weekend. It was really incredible. Dan Pancake is a genius. We loved every course, and we loved the unfiltered Brendan Tracy Rose, which paired perfectly with so many of the dishes. Doug was a wonderful, fun server. Amazing experience, all around.
Warm eve and setting
Good food and drinks
Stellar service and truly an understanding of hospitality. Both Denise and Carlos were first rate. Can't wait to go back. We were there to celebrate the of the original two M's.
Excellent, small plates, good wine & great service. Prefer outside seating - quiet, "garden like" feel (no traffic noise bleed-through). Inside, however, on a busy night it's extremely loud.
Went on a very hot day. Air conditioning was poor and the place had a musty smell. Server was great but a very limited menu for a tappas style restaurant. Drinks were good but pricey. Much better options out there.
The first problem was all the food was served at the same time. Salad, small plates, and entrees. The fish and Chips were over-cooked. The breading was very crisp and the Cod was dried out. The steak served with the Steak Frites was very fatty. Not the type of meat I would expect from a quality restaurant.
Little pricey but great food.
We love it here and usually have a great time. Our server was a bit pretentious this time. Also, had to ask another server to help us because ours was no where to be found. A week ago our server was fantastic and helpful, which made the experience wonderful. This time, I didn't feel very wanted, which was not a good experience. Considering how empty the place was, I would have thought they'd like us being there and make us comfortable. We still love it and we'll be back. Everyone has a bad day.
The restaurant had to be at least 80 degrees in there. The waiter was cordial but seemed overwhelmed. Perhaps short-staffed? We tried multiple dishes to share and finally received a fresh plate after the 6th course.
Most of the dishes were uninspiring and lacked flavor. Disappointing.
We had a pleasant evening. The food was interesting and varied, and our waiter was helpful and courteous. We would return.
A gem of a neighborhood restaurant, we've been coming to Autre Monde for years. The menu just changed and we were delighted with the selections. The pork belly was cooked perfectly as was the special of the evening - fish and chips! The beet salad was fresh and creamy with the goat cheese.
It wasn't crowded because we went very early - Autre Monde can tend to be a bit noisy just because it's a small footprint. If the weather had been better we would have sat outside in the backyard area, the hidden patio is a extra treat!
Autre Monde is terrific for a special evening since the prices can add up on small plates but overall, this restaurant is worth its weight in gold!!!
As always, we had a fantastic meal! We are never disappointed at Autre Monde.
In a sea of fast food along Roosevelt Road, we gratefully found Autre Monde. Smaller plate dining where food was well-prepared and flavorful. Stand-outs were the pork belly and grilled octopus. The prawns were average with a mealy texture and not much flavor. Salads were well-designed and fresh. Gin and tonic was refreshing on one of Chicago's first warm nights of summer. A few blocks from Fitzgerald's, so good pre-show option.
Always good. Love the patio just turn on the fans!
As usual, there are some dishes and cocktails that are just delicious, like the new scallops and the usual neevik and chocolate pot de creme. Some things weren't as much to our taste (especially the cannoli) or were fine but not exceptional (like the prawns and polenta). Sharing dishes is really fun, and the service was thoughtful and helpful. The patio can get hot, but it's pleasantly quieter than the indoor space.
We are a family of 5 with the youngest being 20 y.o. The small plate format is a great catalyst for dialog amongst the fam. The food is terrific and original. This is our 9th time, we'll be back.
Thoroughly enjoyed the soul vibe with the DJ and soul inspired menu! I'd go there every Sunday for same!
