The Pork Belly & Meatball are amazing and must have's!
My third time having the food, second time dining in.
Pork Belly: 5 stars
Meatball: 5 stars
Prawns: 5 stars
Lamb Ribs: 5 stars
Duck: 2 stars (very salty not enough sweet sauce to balance it)
Also have had the Piquillos but they were out which was disappointing but those are 5 stars as well.
Will be back!
The food was mediocre at best, ordered 1 of each item from the special Valentine’s Day menu. The steak was cooked properly and had good flavor but that was the best dish. The oyster dish was baked with crab and had large pieces of shell that hadn’t been properly cleaned out, the dish was also not good 2 people at the table took 1 bite and stoped eating it. The pasta dish was very sweet like the cook used a lot of sugar in it and it had an off flavor, something like nutmeg which was not good for a seafood pasta. Ended up skipping dessert because of being unimpressed with the rest of the food.
Never disappoints. Food is always delicious with excellent friendly service!
Always a great place to eat. I look forward to it every time I come to Chicago.
We’ve always thought of Autre Monde as a neighborhood gem — the great food was well worth the cacophonous noise level. This time we went fully prepared for the noise and it was very noisy. What we weren’t prepared for was the average food and the sub-par service. We ordered taking our servers advice and with his assurance that he’d pace the dishes as they came out of the kitchen. All five dishes showed up in rapid succession with absolutely no recognition that they wouldn’t all fit on our table at once. Maybe it was just an off-night for the kitchen, but the food wasn’t nearly as good as we have
grown to expect. From a noise perspective, it’s far better to be seated at a high-top.
Great experience for a date night with my boyfriend!
We enjoyed the tasty food, I liked the recommended wine pairing and tasty dessert. The service was great and the place has a nice vibe.
Ate at bar.
Loved the people and the atmosphere. Limited menu for full dinners.
We like Autre Monde, but as vegetarians the selection is limited. The atmosphere is nice, ambiance is nice, location is great, but the food wasn't as great as we remember. There's a lot of room to improve vegetarian options and I did notice one new addition.
No major complaints here but not a lot to recommend it. Older establishment and looking it. Soiled ceiling tiles; really loud; tables close together. Harried wait staff; got the martini wrong, vodka not gin. The bar probably works best. Maybe
The quality is declining. I used to be a go to spot, but the gnocchi was mushy (they ended up taking it off the menu for the night), there was a needle sized sliver of shell when I put a scallop in my mouth, and the steak was tough and fatty. I’m not sure what’s happening, because they used to be excellent.
Everything was wonderful! We tried the chef selection where you get a little bit of everything from appetizers to dessert. Every single dish was fantastic. The blood orange house cocktail is a must! And lastly, the chocolate hazelnut dessert is AMAZING!!! The staff was very courteous and attentive. We can't wait to go back!
AS USUAL ...GREAT DINING EXPERIENCE ...WONDERFUL TO HAVE THIS KIND OF QUALITY IN A NEIGHBORHOOD SETTING IN WESTERN SUBURBS...WAITSTAFF ATTENTIVE WITHOUT SMOTHERING OR RUSHING...LOOK FORWARD TO NEXT VISIT
As always wonderful food. Great variety including old favorites (Heirloom beets, Duck Sausage Flat Bread) and some new choices like Falafel Crap cakes and Baby Kale Salad. We have celebrated every anniversary here for the last 5-6 years. Always look forward to coming back for that and in-between. Blood Orange Gimlet is still my wife's favorite cocktail. Always finish with Tawny Port and desert.
Looking for a casual bite for date night with my husband. Autre Monde never disappoints.
Tables were too close together such that you were trapped in your seat. Service was very slow and inconsistent, as there were not enough waiters.
Great atmosphere. Food is always delicious and creative. Amazing cocktails.
Five of us: my wife and I with 3 teenagers. We all got the tasting menu. Fun experience. Great variety and good value.
Interesting, tasty variety of small plates. Warm atmosphere in a neighborhood where you would not immediately expect it. It's the kind of place that you would want to return to. Service was impressively attentive but not pushy. I judge partly on how well staff keeps my water glass from being empty. They never let it happen. Friends who joined us think I have great taste in restaurant choices!
Love Autre Monde. Great cocktails, great food, great service! A favorite spot for date night and fun friends’ dinners.
Great neighborhood place with fine dining quality food; likely to make it a regular stop though wish for more vegetarian options. Had the hummus with homemade pita (wow, so good), the neevik (a surprisingly flavorful spinach dish), and frites (excellent, and I have high standards, think they used either duck fat or truffle oil). Missed out on the hazelnut pot du creme and heirloom beets, so must return. Highly recommended!
Great food , service , ambiance best restaurant on the west side of Chicago !!!! Love it !
Great place for delicious food in Berwyn!
The food is gorgeous, with lovely preparation, and impeccable service detail. However, the intensity of the noise level was overwhelming. I was seated at a table of three ladies, and ended up leaving with a sore throat due to shouting the majority of the evening. Don’t know if the acoustics are salvageable due to the seating accommodations. The center tables are elevated, ergo the ambient noise cascades down to other patrons. Bring your ear horns-don’t expect to have convivial chatter without asking “I beg your pardon, can you repeat that?”
My wife and I celebrated her birthday we have been there a few times before and we absolutely love this place
Great food and excellent service. We had the chef's selection and the seasonal pour(see photo) and it was fantastic!
Fantastic food, wine and service. Have heard so many great reviews of this restaurant, it has been on my list to visit for quite a while and it was excellent dinner, it met my high expectations. The mushroom ravioli was wonderful, so delicate and flavorful. And the Moroccan tagine was another highlight. I live quite a distance from Autre Monde but I’m already planning my return visit.
Wonderful! Drinks and food always well made and presented. I was hoping for some new fare on this past visit, as the menu has been the same for some time. That's my only small gripe. We were told new stuff is coming soon, so we'll be keeping an eye out for that. Other than that, fantastic as always.
We had a wonderful Sunday dinner, sharing several small plates and a glass of an eclectic Croatian
red wine. There is free street parking and bar, communal or individual table seating.
Many fresh well prepared unique dishes.
Just a wonderful evening. Thanks so much
Always exciting new specials to go along with regular favorites. One of our top 3 favorite places to go.
So glad we live near this awesome place! (Have the hummus/ajvar while you are deciding... )
Overall it was an excellent place.
Drawbacks for us.
No parking other than street parking and no valet.
The place has a sign but it's not lit up so if it's your first time it was a little difficult to find.
The truth is it was raining so hard that night it made it more difficult than it needed to be but a light on the restaurant signage would have been helpful.
Sorry to vent on that --Overall great place
I've been wanting to go to Autre Monde for years! I'm so excited I had an out of town guest to provide the excuse to go. Although a bit noisier than I would have liked, the food was superb, as were the cocktails and service. The tables were a tad close together, but that has never bothered me. I only mention it in case anyone doesn't like a more communal dining experience. The reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is that prices are indicative of the quality of food. If it were a bargain for the quality of the food, I would give it a 5.
Among us we had the daily salad, hummus, pork belly and duck breast for appetizers. We then had the pork chop porterhouse and the Amish Chicken. All was exceptionally good coupled with fantastic service. Most outstanding were the duck breast and the pork porterhouse!
Food was great. Server was rude and short at times. He could have just been buys but felt annoyed.
