Autostrada - Main St.
Cute and lovely place for hanging out with friends. Nice atomosphere and excellent service.
The risotto was pretty general, however the rottolo was amazing, while the anchovy was impressive!
Only thing i have to mention is that i made the reservation from open table, comfirmed my reservation through text message. But, i was not on the list when i arrived. not sure what was going on, forturnately there was a table avalible by that time.
Generally happy experience, i will go back again.
Consistently great food and service.
Great cozy atmosphere with AMAZING food! I would highly recommend! Get the anchovy toast!
Amazing food and wine and service. Loved this location as well as Pender. Fresh ingredients and the service was outstanding! Definitely will visit again!
Both the food and service were great.
Would recommend for couples or small group.
Place is small but run very efficiently.
The noise level was very unsettling. It seemed to be one of those restaurants that have a design flaw in that too many hard surfaces and nothing to absorb sound. There are very few tables so the noise level was not coming from other patrons. We couldn't even hear what our waitress was saying. Also, waiting outside for our table, we could see this very small and intimate space and we were so looking forward to our dinner. After we were seated we commented that the music did not seem to match our expectations for the space. All four in our party have travelled to Italy many times (and one person in our party was Italian) and it did not transport us there even though we agreed the food did.
Is a small restaurant but the ambiance was pleasant. Had an attentive waitress and the service was good which made the evening enjoyable. The cappacio appetizer was quite good and the expressos dessert was pleasantly not too sweet. There pasta dishes that our party order was only ok. The flavours were ordinary and not too memorable. Some of the dishes were on the smaller side so if you are hungry, it may not be enough for you. I would still recommend it to my friends based on the service and decent ambiance but would also inform them the menu is a mix and not to expect too much.
Great little restaurant! The service was amazing and food so good. We ordered the burrata, Cesar salad and meatballs to start. Shared one pasta and we couldn’t even finish that! Can’t wait to go back!
Great restaurant. Good service and great food. Light and airy decor
A fun place with friendly servers
Friends’ 37th anniversary. Lucy was a wonderful, personable server who accommodated my “non-dairy “ diet & my friend’s gluten -free restrictions. The food was superb!!! My partner said it was the best Italian food he has eaten outside of Italy.
Really wish they still had their gluten free bread. It used to be such a treat to have the GF bread with GF pasta.
Great food as always!
Lovely. Great service fantastic food
Excellent food, great service! Close to home so will be there frequently .
Great restaurant we love everything about it food ambience service price
Food and service was exceptional. The close proximity of the tables are a bit intrusive for an intimate evening.
This was our first time at Autostrata recommended by friends who have been to the other location. Wow we loved the experience from beginning to end. The restaurant is cute and quaint. We arrived earlier than our reservation but the hostess had no issues in accommodating us. She really made our night- pleasant with a great smile, articulate in describing the food and wine. Both the food and wine were delicious. It was such an amazing experience that we’ll be returning again and again
Go there often. Always enjoyable. Small menu done well.
Good old fashioned cooking. Incredible chicken liver pate! Great service, very welcoming and generous. Grazie mille!
Delicious. Spaghetti Bolognese is fantastic. Can’t wait to go back
Wine select very good- appetizers, anchovies on toast excellent, Caesar salad, excellent, specialty of evening salad w roasted radish slices - very good.
Mains 3 out of 4 disappointing-spaghetti bolognese was bland; this is a dish would be nice to have a ladle of marina sauce added. Rigatoni w eggplant had good flavour but eggplant was barely detected. The evening pasta special, how about potato ravioli tasted 100% potato not a hint of halibut, but the sauce was delicious. 4th main, fennel sausage ... was excellent. The staff was kind enough to hold our table as we were not able to be there on time but we were short on time to have dessert. Next time will make sure no one has previous obligations. Our service was excellent
Always great service and great food. I recommend this restaurant to everyone!
The best !
Great, authentic Italian eats with friendly service and a relaxing ambiance. Would definitely go again. Felt it to be a bit on the pricier side - but still tremendous value for how delicious all the dishes were!
Our meal at Autostrada was very pleasant overall, with just a few details being a bit off. First and foremost, the service was outstanding. All serving staff that we interacted with were very polite, attentive, and knowledgable, and provided excellent recommendations. We had a few appetizers, which were mostly very good (the meatballs were very good, but not as good as Via Tevere which makes the best I've had in town). The pasta was also exceptional, as was the wine which was recommended by our server.
Now for the not-so-good. The music playlist left a lot to be desired, with no discernible theme, and some odd choices, but nothing truly offensive. My date had a classic Negroni, which was a bit underwhelming, but not bad. Finally the desert we had—the Torta Caprese—was fine, but not particularly flavourful.
All in all, go for the pasta, the wine, and the service. Maybe skip the dessert, or try something that we didn't.
Great food and lovely server. Only negative is being told immediately on being seated by the manager (?) that we had a strict 90 minutes to have our table. Quite a turnoff and definitely did not make us feel welcome or relaxed.
Loved the food! The acoustics aren’t so great but it was a super delicious meal and I will be back for sure!
The pasta was very good but the portions are not generous enough. Not great value.
If you are going to charge $6 for water please have the courage to put it on the menu.
Made a reservation for 7 PM but our party was not seated until 7:45 despite being on time. Food was delicious, but the wait put us off from the beginning of the night
Great Food....Great energy. Will be back. Beautiful Lemon Finish...!!
Food was good, overall experience okay. The server spoke in a soft enough voice that when we were told what the specials were we couldn't hear what they were. It could've been the noise level but I didn't think it was that loud.
I am a pretty regular customer. I always leave happy!
I have been telling everyone I know to try this restaurant. The food is flawless, the wine, divine, the service impeccable, the ambience terrific. I am running out of superlatives.
The service is wonderful, which is always so important. We had the cacio e pepe and it was just OK. The space is cozy, and a tad loud. I think I would return in order to try another dish and see if my review score would improve.
Fantastic food and amazing service! Will come again and again!
Everything bite and sip was fantastic! Hidden treasure in this part of main. The caesar salad with fresh anchovies is a MUST. Small amount of starting so make the reso. Will definitely come back again
If you are looking for poor service, Autostrada is your place. Their front of house doesn’t seem to understand that she is in a service industry much less a service role. Being made to wait over 30 minutes for a reservation is frustrating, but so easily made better when the front of house is contrite about it, and maybe offers a free drink to make amends. Autostrada’s front of house seems to think that being rude and aggressive is the way to go. It doesn’t matter how good the food is - when that’s the service you’re greeted with, everything tastes sour. If you want good pasta and good service, try Pepinos, Savio Volpe, Di Beppe... Basically, anywhere other than where this woman works.
I’ve eaten here a few times and have to say, I like the food and have had other servers who are excellent. But I’ve had a number of interactions with this front of house that are unpleasant and this was the final straw. If Autostrada wants to do well, I think the changes they need to make (aka, just one) are simple.
Everything was delicious and the service was great! Would have loved a drink to sip on at the bar while we waited for the table, as you were running a bit behind. Otherwise, fantastic!
