Take out service only was outstanding. Excellent service with prompt delivery to car. Outstanding food with exceptional quantity of servings. My wife and I will be back, both for take-out and to eat-in at end of pandemic.

The best scallops ever & the Korean BBQ collard greens were fantastic as well. Very easy to see why Automatic Seafood is up for the James Beard award for most outstanding restaurant.. they are very deserving.

I had the swordfish with XO sauce. Wow. The fish was cooked perfectly but the XO sauce made the whole dish really impress.

We really enjoyed our first experience at Automatic Seafood & Oysters. The staff was very friendly and we were seated and served our entree within 15 minutes!

Service was slow, almost 45 minutes before food server No interaction with server in the time except when he brought wine Food was well prepared and tasty Noise level too loud to have a conversation, would not consider a place to go for a date or special occasion

The food was delicious; however the service was excellent. Our server went above and beyond to share her favorite meals and why she enjoyed them. She was attentive and made our dinner a more pleasant experience.

Visited the second time and felt so confident I invited a guest for a business meeting. They didn't disappoint at all. They refresh their menu and although I didn't see what I ordered just 3 weeks prior, I was delighted with the offering as they were enhanced. Except, I didn't try the grilled oysters because the set-up changed and it was featured with a chili rub or something and it sound way too spicy or pica for me. I can't judge it because I didn't order them but sometimes we just have to leave what is working just work! I will definitely be back, LOVED our server he was so personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. Great personality and he is a retired Marine!!!!! I will ask for his section every time, every time...catch that? I will certainly be back and look forward to the patio service they plan to begin closer to the Spring. Don't miss this new gem, reminds me of being back home in LA or just down I-20 in the "places to be" ATL eatery scene. Great job!!!!!

Food was lovely as always. All employees were as polite as possible and we had a lovely time. My only complaint is that the restaurant is very loud just from other patrons talking with almost no sound absorption within the main dining area. Black acoustic foam is not expensive, would hide in the rafters very well, and would deaden a lot of that noise.

The food, service, and attention to every detail were superb. This was our 1st time to eat there and had heard wonderful things, but we were so impressed with the quality of the food! Will definitely go again!

Somewhat limited brunch menu but quality offerings. I felt the crab component of the ham quiche was undersold - it was the star and really made this dish stand out. My companions were very pleased with their dishes: bbq shrimp & grits and steak biscuit. I thought the coffee was superior.

Went with a friend for a girls night out. Really wanted to fall in love with this place, however, it was somewhat disappointing. We started with a cocktail and a nice bottle of wine (both were great). We ordered a dozen oysters,, fish cheeks and the beet salad. All were great. For the main entree, we had the swordfish and the snapper on the half shell. Both dishes were salty, but the swordfish was not edible and completely dry. The service and ambiance were fantastic. Will give it another try, but was disappointed.

Although I wasn't able to join them for dinner, my Saturday afternoon lunch was excellent. The Shrimp and Grits, to die for! Cannot wait to get back to Bham and get in for dinner. Easy parking, great vibe, awesome food and service. Way to go Automatic! Your name lived up to its reviews.

We have been to Automatic at least 3 times and the food and service has been absolutely awesome. Chef Adam and his wife Suzanne are wonderful people and their addition to the Birmingham restaurant scene is truly welcomed.

My husband and I love going to Automatic seafood on our date nights. We always order a few apps before we order entrees. Highly recommend letting the servers choose oysters and a perfect bottle of wine to pair with them!

We loved the beet salad! We ate early at 5:30 but the vibe got even better around 6:30 when the lights went down. Wonderful food and beautiful atmosphere.

The food was okay, but nothing amazing. The waitstaff was awesome. The table (reserved several weeks in advance) was super tiny for three people. We had logistical trouble with the dishes fitting on the table. My advice would be to say 4 people and maybe you'll get a better table.

Wonderful experience. The only downside for me was the noise level, which made it difficult to have a conversation. Our meals were creative and tasty. The roast oysters and yeast rolls were the best I’ve ever had. The pavlova dessert is to die for. My dining partner had the cake, which was also very good but not as refreshing as the citrus pavlova. Inventive drinks and a nice selection of wines are a plus. Our waiter was superb as well. I will definitely return when visiting Birmingham.
