Aurum Steamboat is open 7 days a week with Happy Hour 4pm to 6pm, and dinner at 5pm. We are located in beautiful downtown Steamboat Springs along the Yampa River overlooking Howelsen Hill. Our outdoor patio is open with reservations available online.

    We went for Happy Hour, we had a reservation and were seated promptly. The staff was awesome, our server was wonderful. Food and Margaritas where great. My husband and I shared,, the crispy Brussel sprouts (yum), an order of nachos, and a burger. It was a lot, the nachos where bigger than expected. We enjoyed our selves.

    My mushroom ravioli was average.....it did not have a lot of flavor. Adding COLD cherry tomatoes to the entree seemed odd to me. I asked for an Anejo Tequila on the rocks and it was a Plata. Don't know of ANY Anejo that is clear?? Being able to dine by the River is a plus.

We did just get in a new cristallino anejo tequila that is clear & we've all been very excited about...     Heard nice things so we decided to experience this restaurant. Yes it’s the end of Summer season so most places are relatively quieter now in Steamboat. Pretty empty except the nice patio to enjoy the views of Howlsen Hill and the Yampa river. We sat at the bar and were well taken care of . Ordered two glasses of wine from the overpriced and minimal wine list. Had the grilled peach salad with greens and prosciutto and burrata. Burrata was too cold to enjoy the texture of the cheeses but all else on the plate blended nicely. Next we ordered two glasses of red wine to go with the steak tartare we had to follow. It was served with mediocre grilled crostini and the tartare was a huge disappointment. It was mixed with horseradish, topped with pickled beets. There is no need to try to enhance this dish with horseradish and there was an abundance of it ruining it. Overpowered by it you could not enjoy anything that this dish presented. We had considered sharing an entree of the mushroom ravioli but at $40 and the previous dishes we passed and finished our wine , paid and left. The bartender was nice , took care of our needs but sat down to eat three bar stools away from us! This is the worst thing you can do when you still have guests no matter how slow business is. Go to the service station or kitchen and have a few bites but never, ever eat in view of guests . Total fail. Will not return to this restaurant as it’s not special.

    Our group of 11 including 2 children had a wonderful happy hour dining experience on the patio. Our table was steps from the beautiful Yampa River, so incredible view; multilevel decks and patios provide plenty of space for easy conversation. Live music was warming up as we left. The service was terrific; we were greeted with a champagne toast for all as 2 couples were celebrating anniversaries. The happy hour menu had plenty of great options to share, the crispy cauliflower was a standout. The $15 happy hour burger was delicious as were the gnocchi. Highly recommend!

    We had dinner on a perfect late summer evening. The ambience was outstanding, reinforced by attentive, friendly and engaging service. Unfortunately the food was just ok, and expensive for what we had. That said, the overall experience was excellent, just don't expect amazing food.

    Return visit was awesome. Took advantage of the happy hour menu. Value was great. 3 of the 4 ParkerHouse roles were awesome. The 4th wasn’t flakey. It was dried out and …well. The cauliflower was awesome. The Brussels sprouts were ok. Not a great fan of the chopped sprouts. Would be better if they were roasted chunks of sprouts. The HH burger is a great value. Service was excellent. Table under shade next to the River was super. Make sure you are under shade.

    So, duck wings are back on the Happy Hour menu and we are happy about that. So is the curried cauliflower, which is a star. I wish the Korean chicken wasn’t so candied with sauce. It turns hard very quickly. The ranch dressing is tops though. There was live music and a very energetic ambiance. Great place for a Happy Hour.

    Terrific overall restaurant with great food, service and outdoor seating on the river. Limited menu but completely adequate for our taste. We had sea bass and short ribs which were great. Lots of interesting flavors and beautiful. They charge a very irritating kitchen charge which should be included in the price of the food/drinks. It is the manager's job to figure out how to pay them adequately with the prices set.

    The food preparation and quality was mediocre at best. Fish dish was bland and without proper flavor, and the chicken dish was dry and over-cooked. Overall, a disappointing dinner experience and not worth the price.

    I’ll get it out of the way, food was fantastic and delicious. Exactly What I expected from a restaurant of this calibre. What I didn’t expect was the service we received. We are a mixed couple, from the minute we were greeted, it seemed like the manager could care less. We had a reso, special occasion and that was mentioned on the reso. Got our table. Wasn’t exactly what I asked for even though there were two tables open that never got sat until we were done our dinner. Servers walking by not noticing us, got our appetizer before drinks. My partner went to the bathroom and the floor manager was on his phone and bumped right into her and said to her….excuse me sir. Wtf. I am sorry but that’s not right. Further more once i mentioned this to him, he still didn’t approach my partner and apologize to her. I’m sorry but if you have money and wish to spend it on a much nicer experience. I would go there. This place isn’t worth “the experience” from some rude French manager. Thanks for making our special occasion just a regular night. Why do you even have those options on the reservation if you don’t pay attention to them. Oh wait. There’s a Seinfeld episode that reminds me of this.

    I had to take a day to mull over your experience and how to respond thoughtfully, because I feel horrible that anyone walking through our doors had an experience like this. We are a hospitality focused restaurant before anything else, we never want to miss a special occasion let alone let it go this south. We appreciate hearing this feedback so we can learn from the experience. I hope you will accept our apology, and give us another chance to make it right.

    Ordered the calamari octopus app, without octopus. Was told it would cost the same ($27) but would get double the calamari. Got 7 pieces of calamari and some potatoes (?) But that was ok because the calamari was too greasy to eat….a nice dark brown(over fried) selection. Very overpriced menu with very poor execution…..it’s a happy hour hangout, not fine dining!

    I didn't realize how upscale this restaurant was going to be. It's definitely fine dining level food. Everything was extremely aromatic and flavorful. Elk meatballs were moist. The Coq Au Vin had moist chicken and very complimentary hearty sauces. The ravioli had a very refreshing and light taste. The deconstructed coconut pie was beautiful. There were lots of textures on it. The portions were smaller and thus it was on the pricier side for what you got. But that's to be expected when you're cooking for quality at this level. Our server was great and very enthusiastic. I loved it! :)

    We had a wonderful meal at the perfect table on the river to celebrate our anniversary. Aurum had a card for us and champagne ready. Second year in a row celebrating it there and I think we'll just make it our "go to."

    Aurum has a wonderful happy hour menu. The crispy brussel sprouts are the best I've ever had and the duck wings are superb. I love that you can now make a reservation for happy hour. A table on the river in the summer rounds out a perfect happy hour.
