Consistently excellent. Service is attentive and very professional. Food is exceptional. Ambiance is elegant and refined. My go to place when I want to eat really well in an upscale setting
Visited Aureole with three other adults and two children after a matinee so we were there right at their 5pm opening time. Wait staff was very attentive and, were we a pre-theater party, I'm sure we would have had no problem making our curtain. As we were not, our waitress let us take our time while we perused the delicious-looking menu choices. We all ordered ala-carte and everything was wonderful! My diver scallops were outstanding! Wines by-the-glass were limited but delicious. Desserts too were very enjoyable.
Had a 6 p.m reservation prior to attending theater nearby at 8. We were seated promptly. The restaurant was quiet and attractive. The food was fine. The server was also fine. The problem was with the kitchen. We had thought that our reservation time would be sufficient to enjoy a leisurely meal. There was, however, a wait of at least thirty minutes between finishing our appetizer and being served our entree. I suspect that since this was a Friday night in the summer when many locals have left town, the kitchen was not fully staffed. The restaurant, by the way, not even close to full, so there was no excuse for the delay. We finished our entree at 7:20 and, based on what had transpired, did not wish to take a chance and order desert or coffee. When we received the bill, the server indicated that, due to the delay, the price of one entree had been removed. This was a nice gesture but not enough to make us want to return.
We really enjoyed our dining experience at Aureole. The food was terrific. The Butter Lettuce and Radish Salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing and the creamy risotto with octopus were fantastic starters. Our entrees, Salmon with sweet pea and potato puree and Diver Scallops were superb. Our waiter, Eric, was very friendly, attentive and well informed about the wine list. We appreciated his attention and service. This was our very favorite of the 5 restaurants that we visited while in New York.
Courses could’ve come out faster
The table was comfortable, plenty of space, with generous spacing between tables so one does not feel crowded. Food was very good. Service was not bad, just odd. One person was doing so much talking that he hadn’t touched his appetizer, while the rest of us had finished. The waiter seemed very alarmed and asked if something was wrong with the food. We assured him nothing was wrong. He then hovered over our table, clearing things and signaling that we had disrupted the timing of the main course. He was in more of a hurry to clear everything than was appropriate.
An attractive setting and excellent food. An easy walk to the theatre to see COME FROM AWAY. A lovely evening.
The entire dining experience including the staff was one of my greatest dining experiences ever!
Great pre-theater option! Interesting drink menu. Lovely menu with interesting flavors. We’ll go back!
This restaurant was quite enjoyable. The only flaw at this restaurant was that their menu was too limited.
An NYC classic that upholds its long earned reputation for great creative American cuisine.
Food was very good and service exceptional- highly recommended
We ordered the salmon. It was about 4 oz for $31.
That is simply disrespectful.
The crab and avocado salad had 2 avocado slices that were for a 3 yr old. Very bad value
Though aware, staff completely ignored our need to finish for a show; brought a substitute bottle of wine and did not tell us. Inattentive to table needs such as clearing empty champagne flutes.
Disappointed with the food. It’s been quite a few years since we last ate at this restaurant. I would not have given a Michelin Star to Aureole based on the meal and would not recommend based on price point. Positive - great fois gras, wine pairing, and duck breast. Everything else was mediocre to terrible. Dessert was so so, risotto was too salty, and crab apple salad didn’t have many apples and had crab shells in the salad.
Tje wait staff was great and the food was very good.
Outstanding service and food. Desserts are to die for. Recognized anniversary
Pre theatre special occasion. Steaks were good. My son found a hair in his potatoes and they left it on the bill. We didn't make a big deal about it as we were with family and trying to enjoy ourselves. The sommelier was wonderful.
Beautiful evening! Attentive service, superior food and dining experience. Everyone went above and beyond to make our time at this wonderful restaurant perfect. Thank you!
Top shelf food & service. Great atmosphere - perfect for a romantic dinner or business lunch. One of my go-to places
Great restaurant. We always come here when we are in NYC.
We had a fantastic meal, pre-show. We had a 6pm reservation. We were seated on time and our waiter asked what time we needed to leave to get to show on time. He asked about allergies and told us things he loves on the menu. The meal was lovely, I particularly enjoyed the beef tartare and the salmon main course. They were out of my first choice of wine, but recommended another that was similarly styled and priced. We enjoyed it. Definitely recommend and would go again. Desert was yummy!
Everything was perfecto!
Good service and very time efficient for the ore-theater crowd
Comfortable seating. Relaxed elegant ambiance. Not noisy. Perfect for business lunches and dinners because I could hear myself think and hear my guests talk. Very good food and service. Priced competitively.
Tasting menu-heavy on the brioche for both the app and
Was there on a Friday evening prior to a show. We constantly had to chase the servers vs a well-managed flow from the kitchen. Waited over an hour for our entrees. Despite calling ahead the day prior and arriving early to explain to the server about how I wanted to secretly pick up the tab, the restaurant screwed it all up which was embarrassing. Disappointing experience for us all....
I probably just ordered wrong. I got the steak tartar and pate. Both were good. Nothing great. My friend got the scallops and truffle fries. Her meal looked awesome.
Each time I dine at Aureole I can't wait to return. The food is delicious and creative without being pretentious. Service polite. Kitchen accommodates requests for substitutes or changes.
My friend and I could hear one another. Hope to be there again soon,
The food, wine and our server were all wonderful. Definitely want to go back.
I took my wife here for her 30th birthday, I told them this in advance. They pulled out all the stops and made her birthday dinner very special. The staff were exceptionally great with one of the server taking the time to write a list of places we should visit while we’re in New York.
excellent food and service- lots of intense flavors in each bite:)
Aureole offers an outstanding culinary experience for lunch or dinner.
Superb, fresh cuisine served by gracious and friendly staff.
Elegance and comfort combined!
Bravo to all involved in creating such a memorable and enjoyable experience at AUREOLE.
Very pedestrian, server was nice but the food was not very refined. More like an everyday restaurant in any town. Quality of the ingredients was fine but very uninspired food preparation.
Nick was fantastic, helping us efficiently get through a fantastic summer 5 course tasting menu with more than enough time to make the theatre. We also enjoyed the grower's champagne options on the new wine list. A wonderful experience all around!
The food was very good. Oysters, asparagus soup, duck, scallops all perfectly cooked and handsomely delivered.
The service was good but suffered from sudden lapses. Soup poured and servers abscond before checking and there is no spoon on the table, drink orders disappear into the abyss.
The lack of follow up service to check on delivered items means the lapses leave you trying to flag someone down, interrupting what would be a nice meal.
Lastly, the 4-top near the entrance is under a rush of cold air and shouldn’t be set there.
Elegant service. Food often had too many elements.
My wife and I went for our 29 anniversary and everything was perfect. Service were very attentive and the food was superb!
We've had the pleasure of eating at Aureole twice and the service is always fantastic! Food is really great, too. This time we enjoyed the foie gras and a spring salad very much. Their bartender makes amazing cocktails as well.
Mediocre experience this time. Slow service and passable food.
