We split a small carbonara to start and then the steak and pork chop. All three were excellent. Service was knowledgeable and friendly. Kept us on time for our 8:00 show. We will be back.
I went to Aureole on Friday with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary prior to seeing a show. I made a reservation for 5 pm which was perfect to enjoy dinner and not feel rushed. The restaurant is in the theater district and easy to find, very convenient. There is a nice bar and more casual dining room and also an elegant dining room where we chose to eat. The hostess and waiters were friendly, professional and accomodating. The dining room was elegant and candle lit which created a romantic atmosphere. Only some noise was noted from the casual dining and bar area. We chose to try the tasting menu and we were not disapppinted. It was a 5 course menu which included a crab salad dish, froie gras, swordfish, beef tenderloin and a chocolate caramel type of dessert. The portions were perfect more generous than other tasting menus we have tried. We were pleased with all of the dishes. Overall the cost was slightly more expensive than I had hoped but was well worth it. We would definetly return.
My family wanted a good food experience in New York, and we chose testing menu with wine pairing. Food was great and wine pairing really matched well with the food. Service was great as expected, and the atmosphere was also great. We totally enjoyed the evening.
Wonderful food. Great wine selection. Excellent service.
food was overcooked, noise level too high. a bit disappointing.
Should be a bit more refinded and it was not.
An absolutely amazing experience. Staff was professional and knowledgeable. Food was impeccable and made our special day even better. Would recommend to all
We LOVED Aureole. The food was delicious and the service was better than any other restaurant in New York that we've been to in recent memory. The wine director, Morgan, was also great. His pairing recommendations and overall approach to service made the meal wonderfully memorable. Thank you, Aureole.
It was a bad night. It started with disorganized service with delays in serving wine, bread etc. It was downhill from there the chef’s first offering which was insipid to a hors d of scallop ceviche which hadn’t ordered which was virtually tasteless. The hors d I had ordered was pretty good I was then in for about a 45 min wait for the entree which staff explained saying they had made an error. Even the sorbet I had ordered was served in an unappealing way. I had eaten earlier in the week at Jean George and Sushi Yasuda; wit was quite a fall in almost everything except the setting setting which is quite nice (I have dined here at least 6 times and twice at the old location-this was quite a bummer).
It is hard to find a truly great restaurant near the Theater District. Aureole is fabulous and beyond expectations. We were so excited to try this Charlie Palmer restaurant , and it lived up to our expectations. We started with the Scallop Ceviche and Lobster Rolls. Melted in our mouths. Delectable flavors, very unique. Our Entrees were equally as delicious. I had the Dover Sole, which was tender and flavorful. We ended our meal with the Chocolate Bundino, a perfect pair to our meals. Our server was outstanding. I need to mention that I had the BEST Dirty Martini I have ever had in my life. Can’t wait to go back. Definitely go before your next show!!
Very good experience overall! Our waiter went above and beyond to aak the chef for an alternate side dish for my boyfriend.
Food was absolutely dreadful from start to finish. It should be impossible to turn Dover sole into a piece of shoe leather, but this kitchen managed. The foie gras Napoléon was obviously days old and dried out. Special appetizer of lobster Benedict was a good idea, poorly executed. Lobster claw was served cold with full cartilage, on top of room temp cooked spinach, soggy brioche, no hollandaise or egg??? Sorbets were gummy with an odd chemical taste. Salted caramel ice cream without a trace of salt or flavor served along side sad grocery store quality profiteroles. Service was friendly and professional.
There was also an alarmingly long line for the restrooms.
Went to Aureole with my family to celebrate my birthday after a matinee show on Broadway. Really enjoyed our meal and the waitress was sweet enough to get us four dessert samplers in honor of my birthday, because we couldn’t decide on just one or two!
We were disappointed in the food . The flavors were nondescript and my partner’s veal was stringy. We mentioned this to the waitstaff and he did not seem to care. For the price, we expected more.
Not impressed, we expected a better food from One Michelin Star Restaurant!
valentines menu food well done oversalted service not adequate would not go back
The food was fine but we wait for 50 mins for our main courses come to the table during lunch time which is much longer than we expected.
The food is beautifully prepared and the service is very attentive but the "new" Auerole is dim compared to the original location. Just two vases of flowers and it didn't have a romantic or calming sexy vibe. It was indistinguishable from any restaurant and seemed somewhat commercial. I expected a lot more and that's why I was disappointed in finding Auerole ordinary. If you are looking for an interesting tasty meal and good service it will suffice but I wasn't blown away and I'm not dying to go back.
Long wait for our table (over 30 minutes). We were ushered to the bar and given complimentary champagne.
I notified the restaurant that this was a birthday celebration. There was no acknowledgement. No candle. No singing. Disappointing.
Other than that, we enjoyed our food and drink. Service was prompt and friendly, but could have been more “elegant”.
