Aunt Jake's Little Italy

Delicious meal. We started with the Burrata. The rustic bread had a great crust, a massive amount of fresh cheese, and the marinated tomatoes were absolutely the best part. I would have ordered a dish of those if I could. I ordered the Beet Pappardelle with Carbonara sauce. The pasta was fresh, and the sauce rich and delicious. The pancetta was in thick cut chunks which was amazing. My mom ordered the Lansagna, and it was huge! Definitely enough to split between two people, and that was the "single" portion. Lots of well-seasoned, ground meat inside and cheese on top. If you love a creamy, ricotta-heavy lasagna, you might be disappointed. This was more meat forward. We thought it was great. Portions made the prices very reasonable. We also ordered a couple craft cocktail, and those were well-balanced. Not too sweet. Would definitely go here again.
Fairly ordinary pasta and hefty total bill for a fairly mediocre meal
I absolutely had an amazing time at Aunt Jake’s. The server was awesome, they accommodated my reservation amazingly and the outside area is nice. However we had an issue with dinner that put a bad taste in my guests mouth especially because no effort was taken to make up for it. We were a party of 9. The food came out in 3 waves, the first two minutes apart....the last wave was one dish that arrived approximately 20-30 minutes after everyone else’s. My poor friend had to wait for so long for her food to come out. The server continued to apologize - which I’m assuming it was out of his hands and was kitchen related - and we appreciated his apologies. unfortunately no one else came to and nothing was done to make up for this? We lost track of time and had to get out of there and did not bring it up (we were the last ones in the restaurant and had to get to dessert). I would like to go back to this restaurant again but fear that many others may not return with me. Also I would be very upset if something happened again like this so it’s possible the return could be pushed back. The food was amazing but the one unrectified slip up unfortunately took away from a perfect night.
Delicious food and great service! The single serving salads on the appetizer menu can easily be shared by two people. The option to choose your own pasta and sauce makes the menu very versatile.
Wow. Where do I even start? Great food, amazing service. The pasta was one of the best I’ve had in the city.
I had a party of 9 at Aunt Jake's in Little Italy for my last evening in NYC and everyone had an absolutely amazing time. The dishes were aaaall delicious (& we had a wide array), and we were left at that perfect level of full but not sluggish. Our server, the manager, and the bussers were all extremely kind and helpful. Would 10/10 recommend!
Great food. Rude staff. Long waits. Kind of expensive. But the food made up for it!!
My daughter picked this restaurant to celebrate her 24th birthday. We were a party of 14 (11 adults and 3 older children.) I was on unable to make a reservation online. I was informed that we needed to order from a prefix menu which is only available by email. We decided to reserve two tables instead and order family style. I was contacted approximately two hours before the reservation. The hostess threatened, that my reservations were going to be cancelled because we reserved two tables with the same last name. The woman also informed me that they had a third reservation in my daughter's name. She told me that we would be sitting on different floors. I felt this was mean spirited and spiteful, especially since they obviously had availability to seat us on the same floor given that the system showed 3 table reservations. In addition there were several empty tables on both floors that could have easily accommodated us. Upon our arrival the HOSTESS was unpleasant and rude as we were seated on separate floors. Apparently service IS NOT a priority. Had it not been my daughters birthday we would have left immediately. The bill totaled over $700 not including dessert and the service DID NOT match the price. I recommend the Sunday Sauce and Cavatelli, Chicken cutlets, Meatballs and burrata. I would SKIP the mussels, shrimp scampi and ravioli.
This was my first time at the restaurant. I absolutely loved it. The pasta I chose was cavatelli with a lightly spicy tomato sauce. The pasta was so fresh and the sauce was so flavorful. I also ordered the beet salad with fresh ricotta, pistachios and pesto. It came with fresh breadsticks. This dish was heavenly. I had never tried such fresh ricotta! Wow. I sat in the patio. I was so thrilled it was so quiet.
I highly recommend this fabulous restaurant.
Have been here twice now and had the Sunday sauce both times which was excellent. Calamari was delicious too, but wish they had a smaller portion available; you can’t stop eating it, so it doesn’t leave much room for the pasta. I had the rigatoni which was too al dente for me but was still delicious in the sauce. That’s the only reason I didn’t give the food the highest rating.
Easy to get seated on time. Amazing food. Service was good until the waiter overcharged us by 50% of our bill, which is always frustrating. Ask we specified in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary but nothing was done to commemorate.
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Aunt Jake's this weekend. We showed up when the restaurant opened (with a reservation), told the wait staff we had limited time to eat (about an hour) due to the need to head to the airport. The staff didn't make any moves to ensure we were served quickly. In fact, we had to ask for an update on the food about 3 times after waiting 30 minutes - additionally, we found out after the fact that the type of pasta ordered took longer to cook than others on the menu. If we had known that, we would have ordered something else. Luckily, the food came with 10 minutes for us to eat - most of us ended up boxing it and signing the check at the same time.
Really nice little restaunt with a great menu of pastas. Its got a cool interior and less dated than other options on the street.
Great experience. We had an awesome waiter and the food was amazing!
Nice restaurant, ambiance is nice but loud, excellent risotto (one of the best I have ever had), excellent service. Will certainly recommend to friends and for sure we will come back on our next trip to NYC.
I didn't enjoy this restaurants. The service was poor and the food was not good. I will not be heading back.
Great service! Our server went the extra extra mile when I asked about getting a t-shirt as my son's name is Jake. He had another employee bring one over from there other restaurant! The food was delish especially the burratta!
That was one of the best bowls of pasta I have ever had! The service was great - incredibly attentive and accommodating - and the food was outstanding, with larger portion sizes. 10/10 would return!
So fun and delicious! I hope to be back again soon.
Food & location were great. Service was not up to par. Maybe short staffed? The waiters kept forgetting to check on us, and when they did, they forgot to bring things we've requested. Great spot but maybe they dropped the ball that day.
The pasta is okay. I do like the texture. But the service is horrible. Took them 1 hour to get the coffee. And they do not have fries or squid ink pasta that day. No dessert for brunch. Just in general they have a very limited choice of food. No smiles from the waitstaff. Took 2 hours to finish lunch because it was so slow. The restaurant wasn't even full. Meh, overrated restaurant. Oh, it is in a basement and the ceiling is so low also. Doesn't look nice for Mother's Day.
Aunt Jake's is my go-to Italian place in Little Italy. Normally it's a great experience. This time we were seated next to a very large birthday party group and they were SO loud. It was impossible for us to hear each other talk simply across the table. This unfortunately ruined the experience for me. I'll likely only come with friends for lunch instead of with any larger groups or family for dinner.
Took 2 hours to get food. Took it to go because we were no longer hungry
Great place to have brunch!
No one acknloweged me note to celebrate my brother’s new fiancé
Outstanding all around. So good, we tried to get a table two nights later but alas they were booked.
Terrific dining experience! The food was stellar. The handmade pasta was excellent and the sauces that my husband and I chose were both very flavorful. The portion size is in line with what you pay (I ended up leaving a little behind I was so stuffed). We had the doughnuts with caramel sauce for dessert which were fresh and heavenly. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.
Overall good experience. We were disappointed as the pasta quality seemed to have gone down since our last visit at the old location. Meals were very average but overall atmosphere was good. Would recommend for a casual night out.
I mean what could be new in Little Italy, right? Well, guess again. Aunt Jake's is just what the neighborhood needs. The carpaccio appetizer was like none I've ever had and the pasta main dish actually arrived at my table steaming hot - a super rarity in restaurants these days. My glass of white wine could have been colder but that's a minor complaint. The upstairs dining room is really very special.
Great food, and good ambiance. Very strict with seating policy which is hard when there are unpredictable subways with a large party.
They told us they didn’t think they had our reservation and that they could seat us for a long time. We had to leave
Service was really slow for a Monday night. We waited around 30+minutes for our appetizer. We shared a family style pasta dish which was a huge amount of food but they forgot to give us plates for the first 5 minutes so we couldn’t eat. Food was delicious but was lacking in salt all around. Overall good though. Would go back with a larger group of people
Very satisfied 👍🏻
We had arrived an hour early for our reservation, and even with as busy as they were, we were sat within minutes. The service was fantastic and everyone from the hostess to the bussers were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious the servings were perfectly sized and the craft drinks were yummy. We left very happy and will be back!
Aunt Jake’s was amazing! We were visiting NYC from out of town and wanted a nice Italian dinner. Aunt Jake’s comes highly recommended for good reason. First, the people. We were warmly greeted at the door and seated quickly (we did have a reservation). Our waiter was warm and helpful with all of questions and thought the meal the interaction level was perfect. The restaurant was busy but you would never know based on the poise and calmness of the staff. It had a different vibe than a lot of NYC restaurants and that was totally appreciated.
Now the food—still dreaming about it! The pasta was delicious, the sauces were amazing. The wine offering was perfect! And the price is just right! You are paying for a perfect meal and it’s worth every affordable penny.
Go to Aunt Jake’s, you will not be disappointed!
My brother and I stopped here after a long day of walking around and exploring the city. The food was amazing and the services was phenomenal. Our waiter George was excellent, always checking on us and going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend to anyone heading to NYC!
Not a bad brunch place in little Italy. Cozy place not too crowded.
Had such a great time in this little hidden gem!
The host was charming and led us thru what seemed like a tour of the restaurant to being us to their back yard which feels like your not even in the city! It was outstanding! We were a party of 10
Service was amazing as our server walked us thru the menu. I had asked for the arrabitta sauce for my dish and the server even made me aware that it was spicy. He was far from an order taker he really let us know about the dishes we ordered and the flavor profile.
He was very knowledgeable in his wine as well and paired us with a Roth Cabernet which was delish! It paired well with the tagliatelle and Sunday sauce my wife got.
We winded up doing a few family style appetizers and the server let us know how much food was enough. Again I was impressed as most places try and make you over order so they can make more money. Not here! They were on point and really felt they cared about the people who came in and the service they get.
The design, the food and the service were all 5 star and executed with class!
Thank you to all the staff at Aunt Jake’s for making my evening a memorable event!
Food was amazing! Best pasta ever.
