Aunt Jakes - Greenwich Village

The kale Caesar is to die for! The pasta is always fantastic, and the servers are on point.
It was a cloudy day with a forecast of expected rain in the evening. After spending our afternoon at the met, we decided we were in the mood for some warm delicious pasta loaded with lots of carbs to make up for the physical activity we endured at the met. I came across Aunt Jakes on yelp, and although the destination was afar from where we were, needles to say, we were willing to make the commute. Upon arriving, the staff was respectful, kind, and seated all three of us immediately. Then they provided us with the menu, breadsticks, and gave us some time to pick out our dishes. The food was spectacular and the portions were perfect. It left all of us satisfied. We then ordered a round of drinks such as Lemonchille and a glass of Rosé. The drinks were also very good and of high quality. The ambience of the restaurant is welcoming, aesthetically pleasing, and for one-a perfect place to go to on a rainy evening. Overall, great service, amazing food, splendid environment. Will return soon!
I loved it! It’s one of my favorites!! The food and experience are all consistently excellent!
I love the decor and ambiance, and omg the pasta. So delicious- no matter what sauce you get! We got the Sunday sauce and the roasted garlic pecorino and we ate it all up. The calamari was also delicious. Also, try Aunt Jake’s cocktail- very refreshing.
Came here for a friend's birthday and will definitely return again
Hands down one of the best Italian meals I've ever had, and I am married to an Italian woman who is a great cook. All homemade pastas, including Gluten Free. I highly recommend the Bolognese, simply fantastic. Service was excellent and wine suggestions on point.
This place exceeded my expectations. Food and drinks were both delicious. The atmosphere and space upstairs was unlike your typical NYC restaurant. Downstairs was a bit crowded, but overall, larger than most others. We went with a party of 6 and felt very roomy and private and didn’t feel like our conversation was being overheard by other dining guests. Shocked at how reasonably priced everything was at the end of the meal. Overall, great experience; would definitely come back!
Delicious pasta, disinterested server.
Good food. Family style portions available but make sure you ask how big each one is as we ended up with a bit more than we thought.
This was great for a more intimate brunch - noise level is on the lower side, its well-lit, food is delish (esp the pancakes!!) and you get to see the staff making fresh pasta in the background (so cool!). It's also in a great neighborhood, so perfect for a walk after. Highly recommend this place.
Great brunch menu! Really cute and cosy venue!
This is my new favorite restaurant, I will definitely be coming back.
The food was just perfect. Everything was so fresh. We had the chicken parm and delicious fresh made pasta with vodka sauce. Our waiter Tim was awesome, even recommended a perfect cocktail. Can’t wait to go back
food was incredible and a lot came with the order! our server was awesome and informative
Nothing I ate was very good. Nothing offensively bad either, but for the price I would not go back or recommend.
Went to dinner here with my wife after a suggestion from a friend. The place is small and cozy. We sat at the bar where we could watch the homemade pasta being made while we had dinner. Food was great, service was good and ambiance was perfect. Nice little place with good homemade food.
Absolutely lovely and delicious!!!
The decor was very, very nice and the food was fantastic.
I only wish the space was a bit bigger. We sat in the booth near the back near the kitchen.
Good prices and portions especially for NYC. Branzino was fried and oily, but other meals were excellent.
Unfortunately very busy and understaffed. We were rushed put
Very good food
The food was amazing and so was the server. Amazing place to share a few items. The portions were huge. I had the cavatelli with Sunday sauce and it was phenomenal.
We really liked the decor and loved being able to watch the pasta being made. We were entranced by the process. We ordered the chicken parm which was moan inducingly good. We almost took an order of it to go and even considered coming back at night for dinner. Our server was quick, witty, and full of character. We were not disappointed. Oh and they have jolly ranchers at the entrance. Brownie points.
Very cozy and the food was incredible. The only downside is that it gets very noisy and it’s hard to have a conversation.
Excellent service, loved the option to order family-style, and the salmon and warm breadsticks were terrific. However, the pesto was near flavorless. Maybe it was an off-night since we came in on a Sunday? Either way, I'd definitely give it another shot!
Our experience was amazing. We arrived early and our table wasn’t ready but they suggested a bar down the street which served amazing drinks. Once we arrived for dinner, we both ordered a drink; a glass of wine for my partner and I created my own cocktail which is an experience I recommend for everyone.
For appetizer, we started with the calamari which has the perfect amount of batter and crisp to it and was accompanied by a spicy marinara sauce which was perfect! The appetizer was the right size to split even with the homemade breadsticks which are AMAZING!
For our main courses my partner had the shrimp scampi which wasn’t too salty; a perfect blend of acidity and creaminess - a spectacular dish. I had the short rib lasagna which was the perfect portion size and left me content but not stuffed at the end. The short rib had the perfect flavoring that didn’t over power the lasagna allowing for the flavors of cheese, sauce, and rib to mix perfectly.
I recommend this place for anyone who wants an amazing meal at a great price as well. Thank you Aunt Jakes and we will be back!
Service was horrible. Food and vibe is so much better at Mulberry location.
Absolutely wonderful, from start to finish. Warm friendly greeting from the very charming host Jeff, who accommodated our request to be seated in the front window. Excellent service from Tim, who offered some suggestions on our menu selections. Food was delicious, fresh, beautifully presented. Looking forward to our next meal at Aunt Jake’s!
Very good service and the food is simply delicious!
Amazing. The food, ambiance, and service were top notch. Can't wait to go back!
FANTASTIC food and service - all around an amazing dining experience 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
Too loud for our liking, and chairs a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise everything was pretty good.
Food and service was amazing. We will definitely be back!
Mom was visiting and wanted some delicious Italian with a great ambiance. Aunt Jakes did not disappoint!! Loved every aspect of the experience, especially our server, Tim! The best of the best!!
We wanted a conveniently located place where each of us could find something on the menu. The pasta was homemade but unremarkable. Pick a pasta, pick a sauce options felt a little “chain restaurant” though this is not a chain. Our waiter was very attentive and good. Would be a good place for families with picky kids. Watch the pasta maker at work at the bar.
Was a lovely dinner. Food was better than even expected. Really delicious. Every dish was outstanding. Homemade pasta was cooked and prepared perfectly. Drinks were also terrific, especially the rose sangria. Was a little too noisy and hard to hear each other speak. But a beautiful restaurant and great waiter. Thank you!
Great food!! We had trouble choosing what to pick from the menu, because everything looked good. Brunch deal was great too. Service was not good. We felt ignored most of the time. But everyone was very nice once we flagged them down.
Service was a little slow so we only ordered one round of drinks throughout dinner but overall food quality and service was great. Highly recommend it for a group dinner. Seating is limited so make a reservation ahead of time. They also have pasta making classes!
