We went to Augustine for lunch on a recent trip to NYC. I would defintly go back for dinner its a french restaurant and really captures the feeling of being in France. The food was very good to excellent but would like to go back for dinner before making final judgement. The bar is amazing its a must be seen and experienced.
Had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner.. Although we waited 45 minutes from our reservation time, the hostess , apologized and offered champagne to ease the wait time.. Food was well prepared and delicious.
Leider durch die grosse Anzahl von Gästen sehr laut. Sonst alles andere sehr gut. Essen hervorragend, Service unauffällig und sehr gut. Ambiente sehr authentisch. Gerne wieder.
Service was spotty at best. No assigned waiter causes the issue. One waiter was great but others terrible. Long wait, didn’t bring promised bread basket... I’ll give it a try again maybe but only during no traffic times.
Great service. Everyone is friendly. Great ambience
One of the coziest and coolest places to eat in the city, and hard to find value in Wall Street. The ambiance: It gets busy around 6:30PM with after-work crowd and mostly people are in business attire. But the way the restaurant is decorated and thanks to the most welcoming attitude of the staff, you would feel very relaxed. Food & Drinks: Wide selection of yummy dishes (appetizers are decently sized to be shared among 2-3 people, entrees are filling) and full bar that will make magnificent non-alcoholic drinks. Service: Top-notch, servers and manager are there to help you and each other. There is this very easy-going atmosphere that makes this place unique and comfortable - one of the best. Good for: dates, friends gatherings, after work drinks, catching up with friends and family. I haven't yet but will consider an early family dinner with my toddler.
Amazing food. Just brilliant from the fresh and warm bread to the perfectly sized butternut squash cheesecake. Our server made great suggestions and helped us select the right choices for us. Including the cocktail, Vieux Kingston - highly recommended.
Augustine is a lovely restaurant, tasteful, elegant without being stuffy, and with a good crowd. The food is a couple of notches above the traditional NY version of a French brasserie. You can tell right away: the ingredients are better, the recipes more curated and the presentation precise and not overdone. The wine list is a bit traditional, they could venture outside France and not be accused of high treason. Prices are high, as you would expect, but not ridiculous. Service is poor. There’s a disconnect between the diners, who are there to savor the experience and with the staff who seems intent exclusively on clearing the table and getting it ready for the next set of diners. Not the best way to get repeat business.
Delicious, lovely, pleasant service. I would recommend the eggs Augustine. Beautiful interior.
Fabulous meal with a wonderfully patient waiter who not only explained every dish/drink in detail, gave us time to catch up before ordering but also indulged our requests to refill the delicious bread basket. The oysters were excellent, the souffles sublime and the steak and fish fabulous. Fabulous decor in the restaurant and in the hotel on the somewhat long trek to the bathroom. Thank you. We’ll be back.
I like French restaurants and Augistine is very good.
Anytime I'm in NY a dinner at Augustine is always a pleasure.
Last time the only defect was that we had a very small table, but the resti is always good.
Service a bit erratic. Expensive! Better value for lunch.
Romantic, great service, wonderful location for theaters and ease of getting a cab.
I had mussels that had no flavor. I did not taste any garlic or saffron in the sauce. Had a flat bread appetizer that was very oily. Will not be back anytime soon. It is such pretty place it is a shame the food is not better
One of my favorite places in the area, the food is always amazing and the atmosphere and staff definitely deliver!
Not our first time but, again, food was fantastic, good service, inviting amibence and atmosphere. Perfect.
I was in NYC on business. My nephew suggested Augustine. I’m so happy he did! He and his girlfriend met me there. I loved my steak frite. Loved the schnitzel and goulash. The spaetzle was phenomenal. A real treat!
Fabulous as always. Great wine, excellent food. Amazing ambience. We LOOOOVED the Desserts! I couldn’t find such a good Salzburger knockerl in Salzburg.
Best brunch in NYC!
My favorite restaurant in NYC. My fiance and I always come here for the Goulash whenever we are in town. It's expensive, but everything is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is beautiful and intimate. We came here for brunch and dinner on our latest visit and were thoroughly happy with our drinks and food for both meals.
One of the best steaks I’ve ever had and the peppercorn glaze was beyond amazing!
Excellent food, attention and services. We will come back.
Great food. Loved our waiter. Service was wonderful
Fabulous brunch. Service was excellent! Our first time but we will be back.. wonderful addition to our neighborhood!!👍
The experience was wonderful. Best steak frites ever! Best heirloom tomato salad and great service. Lovely atmosphere.
The restaurant was really noisy. Hard to carry on a conversation. The female server was excellent!!
We ordered salads; excellent. We ordered steak frites. Very salty frites! The steak was impossible to cut, either tough meat or dull knives. Would not recommend it. Disappointing!
Food was good, service was not. 3 different wait staff served as our waiters. Took at least 45 minutes to receive entrees without any apologies or explanations. Super disappointing
We were seated at a table near the bar, where there would supposedly be less noise. People coming in without reservations were allowed to cue up at the bar, which resulted in a large & very noisy crowd adjacent to our table, that continued throughout our time there. Conversation at our table was impossible. Food was good, but overpriced for serving in this atmosphere. I would recommend this venue only for joining in the crowd at the bar for a boisterous evening.
I would recommend Augustine to a friend. The many reviews are accurate. The restaurant was crowded, so instead of a small table in the room, I ate the bar. The bartender rendered perfect service and thoughtful suggestions. I ordered the scallop crudo appetizer. I'm from the Gulf coast and eat a lot of fresh seafood. The scallops tasted fine but they were overwhelmed with the horseradish and (what tasted like) grated citrus rind. My entree, at the bartender's recommendation, was the chicken. It was awesome. I had dessert, the apple turnover. It was great too. All in all a very good experience.
Great place for breakfast
Not super impressed over the Steak Tartare and service was mediocre compared to what you pay
It was late lunch. Food is not exceptional. Service is great, ambiance is good.
Everything about this experience was amazing! Our server was the best part of the experience
Best steak I have eaten in years. Brilliant waitress, very knowledge and a great smile.
Flawless really! I can't say much more than that! Great food, great drinks, great decor, great service. One of NYC's best.
Like Balthazar, a French bistro in NYC. Great location in the Beekman Hotel, near City Hall and Fidi. Service was professional and on point. Grilled octopus excellent starter and salads are great.
Perfect for business meeting and long lunch with friends.
Mm yeah, yup
I hoped to find someplace special to take friends from out of town for breakfast. Augustine’s exceeded all of my expectations. The food and service were exceptional. We all enjoyed the spectacular setting of The Beekman Hotel. This is truly a gem in lower Manhattan!
Truly outstanding
Great RW lunch experience!
